These reviews are brutal. I came here one evening with some family for dinner. We were a party of eight, and the parking lot was pretty full. We got seated promptly, and had a very attentive server. Menus, drinks, apps, mains, like clockwork. I got the Applebee's Riblets Platter (An Applebee's original! Our famous slow cooked riblets, slathered in your choice of sauce. Shown with signature coleslaw and classic fries). I was excited, because I haven't had these riblets since I was a teenager. And this Riblet platter was everything I could have hoped for, nicely cooked, tender, sauced meat that fell off the bone, classic French fries, and I subbed my coleslaw for some more fries, because I was on vacation, ok? And all in all, the experience was everything I expected from an Applebee's. No more, no less. read more

I want to commend the staff here--they're amazing and work tirelessly, even when the restaurant is short-staffed. The food always arrives hot and is typically spot-on. Plus, the environment and music create a good atmosphere. My main concern lies with the management, specifically the woman in red. She has been consistently and exceptionally rude during multiple visits, which seriously impacts the overall dining experience. The guy manager is very nice and friendly though. read more

Went to have appetizers, drinks and watch the Vikings football game. The staff told us the GM will not allow them to turn on the sound on their TVs in a sports themed bar. I talked to the assistant manager to see it we could quietly listen to the game. She said the GM wouldn't allow the sound on but she would ask for us. NO NO NO Merry Christmas was the answer. GM never came out of his office to talk with us. Guess I found Adolf in this quaint german community. We left and went to Green Mill across the street. Vikings lost but we where allowed to enjoy the game with the sound on. read more

6:25pm 05/30/23. Should have been a busy time for the restaurant. 3 vehicles in the lot should have been a warning. Wife and I were greeted at the door and seated immediately. Only two other tables occupied at the time. We had gotten to the point of leaving before a waitress showed up. It took a very long time for our food to show up and mine was COLD. Sent my meal back and after a wait it came back. There must have been an Alfredo sauce shortage because the noodles were dry. The problem was corrected again but I was beyond unhappy. I am sure that tonight was the first time in years that I did not leave a tip. We will never go there again! read more

We ordered pickup to go at the New Ulm location this weekend. Food was mediocre at best. Chicken Linguine lacked sauce, chicken was dry and tastless. Macaroni and cheese was marginal at best. I'm from Hutchinson and not much different there. I think the menu is to large and they aren't good at making anything great. Burgers may be an exception and a few other things but not great. Drinks are always good but I can go anywhere for them. I keep thinking Applebee's will get better but never impressed. We were treated poorly buy one server in Hutchinson late winter 2022. We were beyond belief and haven't been back since. They do have other exceptional servers but one Bad Apple can ruin it for the others. I doubt she's there anymore but I'm not going bad. Make your menu smaller and get really good at making what is on there. Sorry for the bad review. Other than that server somethings need to change to improve food quality. Davek read more

My daughter and I and my almost 1 year old grandson went to the New Ulm Applebees on3-31-23 at 6:01pm. Appetizer of Spinach dip. It's was good. Waitress checked back with us. Daughter and I ordered the 2 for $25 and had steaks. Each with different sides. Waitress came back to check on us before we really could take a bite and we said it was fine. After a bit she finally came back again after we waited quite awhile. All of our main course was cold. She stated that she would get her manager to come over. The manager was a gentleman not sure of his name because he did not tell us. We expressed what was wrong and we also expressed that we did not want new meals because my grandson was getting kind of cranky and he asked us if he could microwave our meals and I said no that we would take it home and we could just microwave it there so there was no reason to do it at the restaurant. He did not apologize for the cold meal he didn't ask if we wanted some thing new or offer us a gift card or he did not offer us, or take anything off of our bill at all. There is no compensation of anything to make us happy with the meals that we did have. He didn't offer us a free dessert or anything. I don't normally go to Applebee's because I don't care for the best in general but my daughter and I were hungry for a steak, and we decided there. And this will be my last time ever going to this local Applebee's because the manager that we spoke to you was very uncommunicative and barely said two words to us at all. read more

Applebees feeling not so good in the neighborhood. Poor service from time we walk though the door will we left. 3 parties came in after us and were seated ahead of us. The waiter Dakota very poor. After45 minutes he came and told us he forgot to order our meals, at that point we forgot to tip him. A manager came over apologized and gave us a free chips and salsa. Wow hope that didn't break the house and we were offered free desserts. When the bill came $5 off per meal well Applebees you were trying I will give e you that, the meals should have been free, it was over an hour to get our food, this is not acceptable and wait staff that needs to be trained and focused. The boneless wings were excellent. I wouldn't recommend getting the Cedar Lemon Chicken. I've had it at other locations, and this one had an odd taste to it. I was unable to finish it. Other than that, everything was satisfactory. Prices are a little steeper than I would like to see, at least compared to the portion sizes. read more

Slow service and cheap food. I've had better experiences and at other Applebee's locations. We normally do not do chains but this town doesn't have much for options. Over cooked blackened chicken & shrimp. They bring it out on a piping hot skillet like that steaming pile of overcooked food is supposed to be something special or savory. It wasnt, not remotely. It was carelessly thrown together. Wife got salad and soup, both coming at the same time. Odd I think that she wasn't even asked if she wanted the salad early. The waitress took a long time in response to every interaction. Perhaps they are understaffed for mid afternoon. I didn't bring it up but would have tipped her better if she recognized the slowness and apologized. Also, Applebee's is trying to creatively differentiate themselves from other chains but are more annoying than anything. Don't ask me if I want to donate to a cause the moment you drop off the food. We're hungry. Ask later through the meal. The tablet table games flash at everyone constantly. So turned off. They are desperately trying to reinvent chain grill type restaurants but their moves are desperate. I won't be back. read more

Worst experience ever at a restaurant!! We waited 26 minutes before anyone came and asked us if we would like to order. Manager finally took our order. Watched several tables show their frustration with lack of service, especially those with children. It has been 66 minutes and we STILL DO NOT have our food! The most frustrating thing is having young children who haven't eaten dinner yet and are not even hungry anymore, as it is near their bedtime now. read more

Stopped there last Saturday with grand children. Took forever to be seated. Took forever to get drinks. Appetizer came with food instead of before, and it took 45 minutes for food. When grandson's cheeseburger came it was burnt to a crisp. Waitress offered to replace would bring out in five minutes which turned into a half hour. When the new burger came it was burnt worse than the first one. I asked the waitress if she would eat it and she said she didn't know because she was not the cook.Worst experience ever in a restaurant. Okay, so this is definitely an applebees that is superior to the rest. I got the bourbon street chicken, thinking the typically very well seasoned style of cooking, should translate to at least some flavor. Well, wow! This chicken was fantastic! There's lots of blackening seasoning, while not being over powering. It was cooked perfectly. My white meat chicken was JUICY. yeah, juicy. Subbed in garlicky green beans instead of the red potatoes, and they were delicious as well. Only problem was the speed. Both the waitress was overloaded and slow to talk to me, and the kitchen was slow to turn out MY PERFECTLY JUICY chicken. read more

We were greeted by a very rude hostess named bethany who was extremely rude to our friend with a mental disability when he started to act up. She seemed disgusted with him and called him rude when he told her he had a disability as if she didn't believe him. Luckily our waiter Adam was very polite and funny and he made up for the arrogance of the hostess. It made the experience much more enjoyable. Also, I recommend the spinach artichoke dip. read more

We stopped here while traveling through the New Ulm area. The service was fast and efficient. The food was just okay. We have had better experiences at other Applebee locations. It didn't leave us with the WOW factor. We had not been to an Applebees in quite a while but there were not a lot of other options in that area for dining other than fast food. We did not want to drive a long distance out of our way through the town to find food as we had travel ahead of us. It was also quite pricey for the portions received.
