Huge portion and high quality food with super amazing prices. Got the fish tacos with tater tots and fried green beans. Fish pollack extremely fresh. Tater tots were crispy. Perfectly battered (great ratio of batter) green beans with delicious "spicy" maple dipping sauce. And saving the best for last: Beer was $2 off for happy hour! Came to Mankato to catch Old Dominion at the Mayo Center and stopped by for drinks before the show... the place was packed with the girls working the bar like Coyote Ugly.. great service, good drinks, and good prices... met some locals who spoke highly of their food so we decided to stop in for breakfast on our way out of town, and we were not disappointed! I got the Atomic breakfast burrito and my wife ordered the biscuits and gravy with eggs over easy and diced potatoes. LARGE portions and my burrito was excellent and even better with the great hot sauce our waitress brought over. The diced potatoes were seasoned and crispy.. perfect! My wife said hers was was ok, but would be better if they added sausage to the gravy. Did I mention the excellent spicy bloody and GREAT service?!? In town visiting family and was blessed with this place. It was pretty busy but that didn't seem to impact service. Food was so good, and this coming from a girl from Portland who is always on the hunt for good food and has high expectations. The Menu was pretty impressive with ample amounts of choices. I asked Ashley, the owner, who came up with the menu and she gladly gave herself the credit she was due. Bottom line, if you are in town and looking for the perfect spot for unique pub food and a nice dram of your favorite spirit or a beer the size of your head then come on in, sit in one of the most comfortable chairs I have ever sat on in a restaurant and enjoy a game playing on one of the many TVs lining the walls. read more

I went to see my first live music in over a year downtown and decided to hit up Atomic Star for dinner. I was looking forward to a tasty burger after looking at their vast selection. I wish I could say I had a good experience, but unfortunately, I couldn't even stomach one bite of my Bravacado burger. The moment I sunk my teeth into it I knew something was wrong. After looking at it, I couldn't believe how this went out of the kitchen. It was pinker than a Crayola crayon. I made several attempts to call back and when I finally reached someone the server was very understanding and eager to make things right. I ended up getting the order refunded and will settle on a frozen pizza. read more

Solid dive bar with good service. They have pull tabs, and a fun jukebox. The drinks are reasonably priced, especially during happy hour. I was in town visiting my friend; my birthday was on a Tuesday. Atomic Star was the only bar guaranteed to be open until 2am in the "Bar-Muda Triangle" of Mankato... and they delivered. We were in Mankato for the Shinedown concert at the civic center and decided to stop in to grab drinks and food before the show. The bar was busy, there were 5 of us, we were taken care of fairly quickly, ordered off the appetizer menu, great happy hour with huge beers for $5 and money off on appetizers. Our food took awhile but was delivered fresh and hot. We were pleased with our food and drinks and would recommend this bar if you are in the area. read more

We had a large group of people. It was very accommodating and the food and drinks were really good. The burgers and wings were really good. However, the men in our group cannot get over how gross the men's bathroom is. There is a metal trough that apparently needs to be cleaned badly. read more

Had a sketchy crowd outside, it smelled awful, and our food took an hour to arrive despite it being very slow and once it came it was the wrong order. After a half hour the right food came, it was overpriced and mediocre it had a soggy bun and the meat was a little raw. After taking forever for the food and bringing out the wrong orders they didn't even take anything off and make up for it. Our server never refilled our waters or checked up on us. read more

Solid 4 stars. Prompt professional service by Sarah D. She made excellent recommendations and was very friendly. They are famous for "Stuffed Burgers" so I had The Boss. It came fast and hot. Very tasty too. The prices are very reasonable also. I will definitely come back. Good job. PS, it's really hard to find. It is on the south side of the Intergovernmental Center. read more

Awesome bar food with awesome prices! Went for drinks with friends last night and spent under $20 after having quite a few drinks. The atmosphere is always very nice whether it's super crowded on a weekend or calmed down during the week. Bartenders are always friendly and usually there is some pretty good music. The Atomic 'Brown' Star was ok, until I wanted to play pull tabs. The bartender told me I couldn't play because someone else was already playing them. Turns out the "someone" else was her friend, a bartender from another downtown bar. This of course is totally illegal, but we went back a second time to give it another chance. Heard really good things about the food so decided to try during lunch, ordered food and waited 50 minutes and still no food. Place was not busy and saw other food going out to other tables so left money for pop and left. I understand wait times when busy, the waitress/Bartender was running her tail off, kitchen staff was simply WAY to SLOW today. read more
