The place was practically empty when we stopped in for dinner I ordered a beer to drink and finally after about 10 minutes waitress came back and said they were out of it so I ordered a different beer another 10 minutes and she comes back and says they are looking for the beer do we want to place our order, really 20 minutes we haven't gotten a drink or taken our order Well they were out of that beer too but hey at least we got to order our food we ordered an appetizer and received that in about another 20 minutes they eventually brought my meal but not my husband's they were waiting on his French fries about 10 minutes later they bring his sandwich but no fries they are still waiting on fries. Besides terrible service the place was very dirty and the bartender was on her phone and chatting with what looked like her friends the whole time we were there. Visited the restaurant on a Sunday at 1:00 pm. More than half the tables were empty. Hostess with a very unprofessional attitude balked that wait to be seated is five minutes, then walked around like she's on vacation ignoring customers as they come in. Absolutely lazy staff!! If I could give a half of a star about this place I would. This business has been in the Orangeburg area at least 20 years and does pretty good business. It's always packed and pretty much caters to the college crowd. My first gripe is that this place has not been updated since it's been built. It ridiculous. Secondly, I ate in for the first time in years and I wish I hadn't wasted my time. The restaurant was hot because the A/C was broken. Then they only had 2 servers working and lastly we had to wait 1 hour and 10 minutes for our food. The only bright spot was that the food was good. Don't come here! Subpar service. I visited from out of town to help my sister celebrate her birthday on Valentine's Day and the service sucked from start to finish. It was early afternoon and wasn't busy yet, but it took forever to get or food (which was overcooked). I asked the guy who brought out our appetizer (Seth) for more marinara sauce and never got it. Plus, I had to request additional menus and silverware for my family that came to surprise my sister, even though the waitress, Heather, clearly saw that there were more people. We never even got refills for our waters and my mother resorted to passing around a bottled water! Never in my life have I experienced such poor service. Terrible service. We were seated promptly but that's where everything came to a screeching halt. We waited for 20 minutes for with menus at the end of the table. One group of three waitresses was hanging out at a table they were cleaning. The waitress on the tier where we were sitting was hanging out flirting with a table of 4 men, often casting an "are you still here" look at us. The manager came out of the kitchen and did an avoid all eye contact glance around the room an then sat down at the bar with his back to us. We got up and left.....never to return. So after being contacted by the manager, she asked for me to come back and they would comp my meal because of the previous issue. I did so today and much to my disappointment. It took a few minutes for someone to even greet me. Once someone did, I provided them the information the manager gave me. I placed my order and waited. It came out promptly, but the order was still incorrect. Once I started to eat, the fries were barely lukewarm although it had only been 5 minutes from receiving it. I really love the Applebee's in other places but this one is terrible. I ordered the 3 samplers for $12.99 and some other items as well. For my 3 samplers I chose the spinach dip, double crunch wings, and tortilla soup. My boyfriend got all of his apps before me. I had to wait and extra 10 mins for my soup and dip. The waiter served my soup and forgot I even had spinach dip. My soup was not soup, it was horrible. It was a tiny paste at the bottom of the bowl entirely covered with cut up tortilla chips. I wanted to tell the manager but I'm too nice so I didnt. read more

Recently visited with a group of friends and left HIGHLY dissatisfied. Out of 5 orders NONE were served correctly. The wait was extremely long for a steady night. We took our stepmom out for her birthday. The waiter was nice but we waited for over an hour for our food. Food good, servers generally attentive, but music is very loud at times and many televisions on can be distracting. Especially do not like infomercials being shown during my meals. Showing ball games, or weather, or music isfine, but who wants to see infomercials during meals? Parking lot is not very clean, which leaves bad first impression, but interior is cleaner. In town for a funeral and wanted a quick bite to eat. I was a little leery after seeing the 1 star rating. I was very pleasantly surprised. We went on a Friday night and the place was very busy. We were seated right away and EVERYONE from the greeter to the servers was extremely pleasant and efficient. The food was just as we ordered and it didn't take a long time considering they we so busy. Several times, different people stopped by our table to see if everything was okay and it seemed that everyone got this same attention. A group of six of us went to Applebee's after work on Tuesday night. It was about 8:30. The bartender completely ignored us for more than 15 minutes. Once he came to the realization that we weren't leaving he reluctantly took our drink orders. We ordered a beer per person and a shot per person. By this time we are timing our service. After 11 minutes we had our beer. After 23 minutes we had our shots. A cold mixer was ordered and we received hot drinks. The size was not near the proper volume. Please keep in mind that the restaurant was not busy. The bartender walked past us while serving every guest at the bar when I asked "Excuse me sir, do you have a minute?" To which he replied "No, I don't." After this exchange I requested our tab. At this point he was somewhat apologetic. It didn't help that everyone else at the bar were the same race as the bartender. We were not. I can't deduce any other reason for the complete and total lack of decent customer service. I work in customer service and realize it's a difficult job and it's even more difficult to please most people. I always try to put myself in their shoes. There is absolutely no excuse for the terrible service we received. I was embarrassed that I chose this place of business to take my staff to. There is no possible way that the draft lines in this restaurant have been cleaned nor changed this year. I wouldn't recommend this restaurant to the evilest people in society today. Osama Bin Laden deserves better service than what is provided at this establishment. The manager is of no help. He was very lackadaisical and pretty much had the attitude that he could care less if our evening was complete shit. Stray dogs deserve better service than a white man will receive at the bar of this restaurant. Go anywhere else to eat and drink. Guantanamo Bay. Auschwitz. Davao Prison and Penal Farm. The bottom of the ocean. Hell itself. I honestly am appalled at the complete and total lack of care for the paying guests of this restaurant. I am an extremely generous tipper and I had to force myself to leave a better than 10% tip. This is the nastiest, worse ran, worse attended, and worse served restaurant in the 28 states and hundreds of restaurants I've been to in the last year. I am begging, imploring even, that corporate send mystery shoppers to this facility. Corporate would immediately see the need to shutter this business and never look back.
