The nearly empty parking lot and the quiet dining room should have been my first clue. As I walked up to the door, the waiter directed me to the take‑out window and explained, "The dining room is closed until 6. What would you like to go?" Sunday morning in Orangeburg doesn't allot for a lot of food choices. Needed a hearty meal and decided to give them a try. Okay, we all know places like this are going to be busy and noisy. So, don't cone expecting A+ service. We entered and waited for a spot to be cleaned off. The floor was sticky like as if syrup was on it near the counter area. Two waitresses were clearing an area, and we were seated near windows in a booth. Our waitress was pleasant and got our order in quickly. There were a few minor mistakes, but they were corrected promptly. The food is good. That's one thing, you can count on good southern cooking when you come here. My server was Marilyn. As I sat eating my breakfast at the bar , she was always checking in on me. Even though everyone there was working hard to keep orders flowing , Marilyn was multi-tasking incredibly hard. Customers would forget their orders and she would correct them politely & still switch items for them. She always remained calm and polite. Even though I waited til the end to order my takeout , she explained how many orders were ahead of me and kept her composure. I was very impressed with her !!! Breakfast is always quick. and pretty decent at a Waffle House. We used to be able to get meals under five dollars but those days are gone. Cheapest thing I saw was at least $6.50 for simple eggs. Our waitress was very sweet. read more

Cleanest and friendliest Waffle House I've ever had the fortune to eat at. Mimi was a great waitress! Even the other patrons were friendly.

I mean it's a waffle so not much to say about the food but I had to rate this place. I have NEVER seen such a clean waffle house. But it has been pretty amazing watching this coordinated, hardworking, polite crew do their job in this location. Of varying ages, they asked about each other's welfare. They immediately jumped in to assist across the board like a well oiled machine. The unit manager, who looks like a baby to me (because I'm pushing 45...LOL) was calmly directing, listening and managing his crew. I don't know these people but I love their work ethic. I was sitting next to a lady that ordered some mess and when the food came said it was not what she ordered. The way the young lady handled this woman professionally, while I was rolling my eyes, made me chuckle. Good job. read more

This is the WORST place to order food. When I arrived at 3:25am there was only two workers which I didn't mind. The tall counter worker was washing dishes and the other short guy was cooking. The counter took 4 minutes to take my order to go and I'm sitting right in FRONT of him. I had to tell him 3x I wanted a grill cheese sandwich with a scrambled egg in the sandwich. When I get the sandwich it was just a toasted beard with an egg inside. I got mad told the counter guy the sandwich was incorrect mind you the guy on the grill was standing 1 foot away to hear my order. So the the cook starts to make my sandwich he decides to wash the egg bin and didn't take off his gloves and was his hand and put on a fresh gloves. That just showed me he didn't care and his attitude was like he didn't want to be there. I canceled my order and left, I WILL NEVER GO BACK THERE EVER AGAIN. I've only been here once and plan to never go again! I was a bridesmaid in my aunt's wedding and she decided to have it down there where our family is from and they were still stuck back in olden days time. Don't get me wrong, some parts are nice, but the town in general is very slow. We were coming from a horrible night at a country party and was in desperate need of food. We decided to stop by the Waffle House before heading back to the hotel. We walked inside and asked if they accepted credit cards, in return we received twisted faces and squinted eyes that responded they don't take cards, as if credit cards don't exist down there. We were forced to use the atm at the gas station and pay the $2.00 fee! At this point, we were just hungry, so we sat down to discover the seats were sticky and they servers took a long time to take our orders. Once the food did come, it was less than mediocre! Had the worst visit ever, no spoons with our coffee , no refills of our coffee , no waffle with our breakfast, I paid for it to . Didn't check on us at all , only would she brought our food. Had it ask for Splenda when she brought our food out.
