High teacher turnover, bullying, and lacking curriculum are some of the things my son experienced at this daycare. After two months of attending Kangaroo Kids, two of the three teachers (including the lead teacher) in his classroom left within a month from each other. After they left, there were constant changes in the staff in his classroom. In addition to the constant changes in the classroom, he was verbally and physically abused by another kid. However, I was never notified by the school of the abuse or given a single incident report. Concerns about this other child's behavior were not addressed by the administration, despite it being known that this child was problematic. The bullying and constant changes of teachers in the classroom caused my son to have tremendous stress which eventually led him to stop talking in school. He would cry every morning before going to school. Another complaint I have about this school is the curriculum. I enrolled him at this school because I was sold on their foreign language program. After he was enrolled, I found out that there was no Spanish or Chinese class. Had I known this in the beginning I would not have enrolled him in this school. After 4 months there, I had to transfer him to another daycare. I wish my son had never gone to Kangaroo Kids.

The drawing teacher was very good and nice as she breaks down the drawing into steps, so that the kids can follow easily. Afterwards, they frame their pictures and all stand together for a group photo. Stayed for another session of Chinese entrepreneurship, where they teach kids, in Chinese, about products and how to sell them; for fun! No fees just a small donation. With little prior knowledge of the traditional Montessori curriculum, our initial search expanded the spectrum. After a few facility tours, it was clear that we preferred the Montessori curriculum and style of learning over the traditional curriculum. What sold us further and made our decision easy was the day we visited the new Guidepost Montessori in Bridgewater. Sylvia Chen, assistant head of school, greeted us personally to provide a tour, answer our numerous questions, and help us through the application process. Our warm exchange and the beautiful facility spoke volumes for what we could expect from Guidepost. So much so that my husband and I agreed to submit our application for enrollment as soon as we left the school that day. Fast forward four months and my maternity leave was nearing its end. Sylvia and Jennifer Tisdale, head of school, both made it a point to reach out ahead of time to ensure our son's first day was well planned for. When we arrived for new student orientation our son's guides were prepared to meet us, and it was evident that great care had been given as his name was already visible noted around the classroom. Guidepost's gradual entry for new students allowed us, as well as our son, to adjust easily into our new environment. From the start, we have always felt like our son's needs were well attended to and cared for. The Nido guides are fantastic and are invested in getting to know you and your child. They always have our son's best interests in mind and keep us updated on his progress and needs. One thing we love about Guidepost is their consistent communication. Each day, we look forward to receiving photos and daily tracking notes from Ms. Perrone. While we cannot be with him during the day, this detailed level of communication makes us confident that our son is well cared for. In just the few months that our son has been attending, we have seen so much progress with him developmentally. He is reaching milestones early and becoming more independent each week. All of that is great but being a neuroscientist, I wanted my children to learn and socialize properly. This schools keeps the kids engaged in many educational activities, while also giving loving care, developing their interpersonal skills, manners, and having fun with music and art. I can't tell you how many art projects come home and all the great pictures we see on line. The children learn sign language to help them communicate at a young age and have outdoor play and activities. My son is 2 1/2 and knows all the alphabet, counts to 25, recognizes his name, knows the sounds of most letters and words they begin with. Which demonstrates the amazing commitment by the teachers and approach the school takes to not only care for the children but, nurture and develop them. Highly recommended.
