I currently have a four year old son who has been attending Zadie's since he was just shy of two. Our experience has been fantastic - especially considering such extraordinary circumstances as a school wide flood and the pandemic. The administrators and teachers have always gone above and beyond to be transparent and problem solve. Most importantly, the kids have never felt the impact and receive outstanding academic enrichment. Specific to Covid, all I can say is that they are doing the absolute best they can and we appreciate it. They have managed multiple Covid cases with the strict guidance of the health department and brought parents along every step of the way. Personal opinions on vaccination aside, I've been impressed by their swift actions based on science and truly believe they are looking out for my son as if he was one their own. Zadie's is an awesome familial community - especially for families new to the area. I highly recommend. read more

We have been sending our 3.5 year old to Zadie's since moving back to Summit in Feb 2020. We had moved out of Hoboken where we were not happy with our former daycare experience - sending our son to Zadie's has been the polar opposite experience. It's clear that the teachers and staff truly care about the children - they remember things about our son from his preferences to details as minor as his favorite color. He always arrives at Zadie's happy and eager to spend the day with his teachers & friends. As it relates to COVID, Zadie's has done an excellent job of keeping parents informed, and mediating any situations that need attention. It goes without saying that managing a childcare facility during a global pandemic is nothing short of challenging, and Zadie's has done a fantastic job keeping up with the ever-changing climate as it relates to COVID and keeping our children safe. We couldn't be happier that we chose Zadie's for our family! read more

Our family has had an amazing experience as part of the Zadie's Summit community for the last 3 years. It has been special watching our soon-to-be 4 year old daughter develop, learn, and grow both socially and academically - while having way too much fun throughout her days at Zadie's. The teachers take such great pride in caring for the children, they are extremely nurturing and loving, while also being fully vested in the kids development. In addition to the teachers, enough cannot be said about the Zadie's Summit professional staff led by Tameka, the director, who is simply AMAZING. She really does it all and is the heart and soul of Zadie's Summit. As the last year has been unprecedented for people personally and professionally, the Zadie's team has gone to great lengths to engage families and create forums for open communication to listen, learn, and share challenges, feedback, and solutions. We will continue to stay ZADIES STRONG and can't wait to have our younger daughter join in the coming months!! read more

My whole family is from the Summit area, and a lot of my family members had sent their children to Zadie's since it was first opened by Zadie. This place used to be very good, especially they helped with early academic training for the kids. But since Zadie retired and the second generation started to run this place, we have been experiencing very poor management decisions, especially during the flooding incident in 2019, Covid lockdowns in 2020, and (lack of) Covid vaccination (which resulted in several student outbreaks) in 2021. I understand in a civil society, we want to respect individual's freedom so it's everybody's decision if they want to get vaccinated. But as a private nursing center that market itself as a high-end trustworthy caretaker, there should be proper incentives and clear guidance to make sure all the caretakers are fully vaccinated. But even as of now (June 2021), where there is an oversupply of vaccines, a lot of the teachers are still not vaccinated. This resulted in a recent major outbreak, in which almost all students in one whole class were diagnosed Covid positive. Now they finally started to require teachers to take the vaccination. This is the type of poor management you will be facing if you send your kids here. I will no longer recommend Zadie's to my family and friends. Very disappointed. read more

I am so happy we decided to start our son at Zadie's a year ago. Over the last year, I've been continually impressed by how much he has learned and developed in Zadie's care. His teachers encourage and nurture his emotional and social development, and are excellent at teaching age appropriate -- but challenging -- skills and lessons. The teachers are always engaged, and the children receive a lot of one-on-one love and attention. The staff is very knowledgeable, as Zadie's provides training sessions in child behavior and development, CPR, etc. for the staff on a regular basis. Zadie's is an amazing daycare! read more

I can't say enough good things about Zadie's. We have two daughters (3.5 years old and 7.5 months old) who both love going to "school" there every day. We had a nanny for our older daughter until last Spring (2009) when she decided, at the age of 2.5 years old, that she wanted to be in school full time. We researched the day cares in the surrounding towns and were automatically drawn to Zadie's. It's obvious that the care takers employed at Zadie's love what they do. It's a loving, nurturing and happy environment. It also is structured and has an academic component to it. In fact, at 3.5 years old my daughter can count to 40, write names and words, can spell, is starting to read and do math, as well as learning Spanish. And not only that, she loves learning. It's absolutely amazing! The positive reinforcement and independence afforded to her is unparalleled. My husband and I had no doubt we would enroll our younger daughter there as well after my maternity leave. We also love the Smith family, and have made a lot of friends with the other parents. We are all career-driven, yet love being parents. In other words, we are all going through the same stage in life, and facing the same challenges. ....and we're not alone! Plus, it's nice to know your children are happy, healthy, safe, and thriving while you are working. read more

My daughter had been at another daycare for over a year and I was very unhappy with her development and the things that were happening to her. We switched to Zadie's and it's amazing what a change we've seen! She is now happier and developing faster then we can keep up with. The teachers are really fantastic. I am amazed that other teachers know my daughter's name and she's not even in their class. The attention they pay all the children and activities they do are outstanding. It does cost more then other daycares in the area but it's worth it. They also feed the kids so you don't have to pack lunches and snacks everyday. read more

Zadie's is the best! My family has been a member of the Nurturing Den Family for 6 years. My oldest son is now in first grade, but he started at Zadie's when he was 5 months old and my younger son is now in the toddler class, but he started when he was just 2 months old. I was such an anal mom with my first son and the staff at Zadie's never made me feel bad or crazy : ). My little ones are always happy when I pick them up and very clean. I think that the caregivers at Zadie's are amazing and always so attentive. I would always go to work with my mind at ease because I knew that my most precious gifts were being well fed and well taken care of. The administrative staff is wonderful! They are always available to talk and very hands on. I highly recommend Zadie's to other parents on a daily basis. If you are looking for a child care center and school that provides a nurturing yet academically stimulating environment, Zadie's Nurturing Den is the place for you. read more
