Great airport but would not recommend the coffee stand, terrible resteamed latte- do not attempt.

This is the cutest, cleanest, easiest Airport I've ever been to. Check in was a breeze and the TSA line was almost a joke because it was so freaking quick. Also probably the nicest TSA people in all the travel land. There is a restaurant before you go in and then one after walking through the checkpoint. There are only 8 gates so you don't have to worry about rushing from one end to the other. read more

Usually the people here are nice. However, the two women at TSA, especially the TSA pre line completely mask shamed me this morning. Even knowing I had an animal with me. Apparently the two masks I did already have on weren't good enough for them! They both literally made me exit the line to go through my entire luggage to find another mask to wear before I was allowed to even go through security! This was absolutely uncalled for and unprofessional. NOWHERE does it say you have to wear an N95 mask. I saw people walking through with a t-shirt over their mouths! They were completely singling me out and mask shaming me. They need to be pulled and retrained on customer service and what the federal regulation actually states before harassing someone. Easy-peasy security gate, little store to get Wisconsin goodies including cheese curds, a little gift shop...er...and a cool little bar/burger/grille with very limited hours. Pray to God that your plane isn't delayed or worse, cancelled, as you will have absolutely nothing left to do but contemplate whether you wish to live or die. For the ticketing/check-in at Outagamie County Airport (and really, who remembers this name...aka "Appleton Airport"), it's great. Rarely ever more than 3 people in line, it moves quickly and easily. The downside is that there are few flights a day in/out of here. If your flight is cancelled, good luck on getting out the same day! But as Appleton is, the people are lovely and so nice...stay another night and enjoy! read more

I love this airport- easy to get your bags and get on your way!

I love flying and I'm not put off by the usual airport complaints, but I do appreciate the good stuff. Smaller airline airports are great if you can use them, and we were able to on this trip. Appleton was a bit cheaper than Green Bay (another good small one) and closer to Oshkosh so we could see friends there in addition to GB. We rented a car, and the lots for that are easy to get to. Little traffic (ground or air) when we went on Easter weekend. There are only a few gates, fewer than on one commuter concourse at O'Hare, so I doubt it ever gets busy. All the staff we dealt with were friendly (but that's partly just a Wisconsin thing.) It's airy, and clean, and easy to get around. Security was so much quicker and more friendly than at a bigger airport. Shorter lines, better attitudes. read more

It's easy in general. And they've made many improvements of signage and auto doors since my last trip. Very nice TSA agents and very quick too. No problems with long lines here! One big needed improvement is the car rental area.... Either they need an agent outside to remind you of where to go after arrival and before departure or better, they need much more signage to show you where rental kit is or short/long term parking odds and signs to remind you to return the car rental keys! One guy on the plane still had his car rental keys on him as he had completely forgotten. Also, the agents have to trust you that the gas was on full. Crazy! read more

Completely re-done about 10-15 years ago - and wonderfully so. Now, with 8 gates (instead of 4 "gates" through one door, as was the case in the early 90s), a great little regional airport. As my parents live in the area, I flew in-out of here very often during college, and I note a few great perks that I don't get in big-city airports [and the downsides, too]: * You don't need to get here any more than 45 minutes before your flight; 1 hour tops in peak travel periods [but note that the check-in people are often also the gate attendants, so if you show up 15 minutes before your flight, there will be nobody there to check you in!] * Only one very short security line [They're thorough, but not overly so...the negative is that many people flying through here don't "know the drill," so sometimes it can still take a while] * Free wifi (and a "business center" where you can charge up) * Though they're small planes, all now get jetbridge boarding - so you won't freeze getting off a plane in January Negatives: * No real food past security (but I guess you don't really need it, most of the time), and the food in the little cafe/restaurant isn't particularly appetizing...though the muffins are good! * Sadly, the little Wisconsin cheese store closed down! But the small store that's left has magazines, snacks, Wisconsin memorabilia, should you be so inclined to purchase something with a cow or badgers or Packers on it. * The vending machines past security charge $3 for soda - WAY too much for this neck of the woods read more

This place doesn't know how to plan for the flights coming in. Multiple times, my flight had landed here and we have had to wait - not just a few minutes but once it was 30 minutes, another time it was over an hour- for the crew to come and bring the jet bridge so that we could get off the plane. There is nothing worse than getting home late , then finally landing hut having to wait on the tarmac for the crew to let us off the plane. Then to have to wait another 30 minutes for baggage. It's ridiculous. How can they not know a plane was coming in and be ready for it. Don't fly in and out of here if you can help it. read more

For a small Midwest airport it is quite nice. Security is only open a little bit if flights are happening, there is only one little cafe past security, but there facilities are nice and even have ping pong and decent chairs to relax before the flight read more

My wife and I take turns flying in/out of here for work. It's close and convenient. You don't have to arrive two hours early just to stand in line for an hour at security. We also use this airport for family vacations. If you look at the time it takes round trip by car and then add in parking to get to MKE then using ATW makes sense. They have a ping pong table in the gate area and a bar. It's like flying out of my house. Very comfy and casual. read more

Don't quite know what "International" means, but for an airport of this size I don't know how you could beat this one. Now that Allegiant has non-stops to Florida, Phoenix & Las Vegas flying out of here I'm not tempted to drive to Milwaukee for a more convenient flight. For others, it's just a hop, skip & a jump to fly to Milwaukee, Chicago & other major airports. Why I love this-the old Outagamie County-airport: *Gifts & concessions are a normal retail price. Buy your snacks, cheese curds & gifts here. *From the check-in to the security line it's just a few steps, literally. *I've never been more than second in line for security. Hope you don't feel rushed! *From security to the gate, or gate to baggage, once again we have just a few steps. Easy-breezy! *The wait time for baggage pick-up is just about nothing. There they are! *Parking: Well, sometimes it might be a bit more than "a few steps" but not much more. *Passenger pick-up: Well, just park your car at the front door & go in & find your passenger! I just walked through security with not a single person ahead of me. The TSA agents were polite and helpful, and checking my bag (with Delta) had been a breeze. The single concourse is Tommy, although there are very few options for food and drink outside of vending machines. This is not an airport to count on buying any last minute toiletries after security, as it doesn't seem like there are any options for doing so, but only needing to show up an hour before take off is completely worth it. read more

What a cute, little airport that is a perfect fit for quaint, wholesome Appleton, Wisconsin! I flew out of Outagamie most recently to O'Hare and to St. Louis from there. PROS: -Everyone is SO friendly! I have never, ever had such a pleasant airport experience in my life. Everyone was so personable and security smiled at me. SMILED. This is one for the books. -You don't have to compete with people for outlets to charge your devices. There are ample outlets and these little desk/cubicle things where you can easily go on your laptop or tablet. -You can easily arrive 45 minutes before your flight. We arrived just about half an hour before our flight, and we were just fine for time. -There's a cute store that sells lots of Wisconsin classics like cheese curds, cheese hats, Packers apparel, etc. CONS -Staff is very sparse. I get that this airport doesn't get too much traffic, but sometimes it can be a little hard to find someone if you have a question. -The eating options are barely there. This is only really a problem if -Your plane is delayed or canceled. Yikes! Luckily, it's never happened to me. But, if it did, I would be left to surfing on my laptop and twiddling my thumbs. -The planes are much smaller than other planes and it was a struggle to get my standard-sized carry-on (a backpack) to fit under my seat. I'll be happy to return to Outagamie Airport. Despite some of those minor annoyances, this is a fine airport. The customer service simply can't be beaten! read more

The worst airport to get any ground transportation. Taxis are never available and it takes half an hour at least to get a taxi service. They also play monopoly with taxi service, which charges more, pick up more than one passenger/group, and still charges full price to each passenger. Security personnels have too much time on their hands and did the check point work as if going through a maximum security prison. As a frequent flyer, this is the airport where I get padded down the most. It sometimes feel like they do that because I am the only few non-white person there. It's most inconvenient to get anywhere from that airport because there are not many direct flights to major cities and requires at least one stop to go anywhere. We did not go into or use the main commercial flight terminal. Our experience at the Appleton International Airport was limited to the use of the flight line taxiways and runways for our WWII C-47D on our return flight to Michigan after participating in the EAA AirVenture Airshow in Oshkosh. We had flown in and landed directly at Oshkosh to participate in the Warbirds displays. But due to the traffic in and around the Airshow as well as complications for getting our group and our luggage into the plane at Oshkosh for departure our pilot decided to fly the plane from Oshkosh to Appleton International Airport. Then we all met up there to board and depart for home. The air traffic was much lighter and there were virtually no vehicle traffic problems getting our group to the plane. The facilities we did see and use were well maintained and this could be useful for future airshows as well read more

Nice airport to fly in to, but it seems they only have one crew to recover flights. Our flight in sat on ramp for 25 minutes, waiting to get to the jet bridge. Three flights out are going to have connection problems because of this same problem getting out of here. read more

Easy airport in and out and employees very friendly. Happy to say this is a fantastic airport. I enjoy their green solar screens in the terminal and their water bottle refill station on the other side of security. The only thing I think need major improvement is the restaurant. A little over priced and food choices could be better. read more

Wow what a joke. One restaurant on the other side of the rudest TSA agents security line. Explain how a TSA precheck line go to the same area as the non tsa precheck line. Then get the same treatment with having to take laptop and stuff out. Then when stating I was TSA Precheck get the most ridiculous agent that was to bothered to understand that and then oh wait you have to get a card that states your TSA precheck. Then "Randomly" (yeah right) get pulled out for additional screening. Next agent tells me oh it's like winning the lottery and there is a 5 percent chance of getting selected. Wait for it then the third person after gets the same lucky check. Appleton needs a check up from the neck up. Especially no gift shop after security to purchase bottle of water or newspaper or anything just a restaurant. There is a better way and this is not it. Management needs to quit being lazy and seriously look at how their TSA precheck customers are being handled or man handled. Two xray machines, a full pat down, explosive matter check, might as well do a cavity search too. read more

It's a small airport, but that's to its advantage: the staff are extremely friendly, everything is relatively quick (provided you're smart and get there at least two hours before your flight), and the prices aren't too ridiculous at the snack shops. I always like flying out of Appleton; I know it's always going to be a puddle jumper, but it's at least a good and nice start to what might be a more stressful trip. read more

Nice airport! We always come in here to see our Midwest family on Allegiant Air & we continually have great experiences always with Allegiant! Honestly, they're my favorite airline. Budget friendly, everyone here seems so much happier than other airlines, and I've only ever had wonderful experiences with Allegiant! They don't over-sell their flights like other airlines do, so you won't run into problems that come with too many paying passengers and not enough seats. I love Allegiant and will continue flying on them for a long time to come!! read more

Easy access to 4 major airports, short security lines and lots of extras make this airport a good choice to or from anywhere in northeastern Wisconsin. You can drop off your dog or dry cleaning on your way out of town. They have a great gift shop for all your Cheese or Packer needs. A nice little restaurant though it's not open much. All the major car rentals companies are represented. Taxi service is available outside of baggage claim. read more

A small and convenient airport. They're currently going through some construction. The two times I've gone here, I was in and out with some smooth flights. Cutest airport I've ever seen. When a airport has only one door for dropping off and picking up and 2 luggage carousals total you know you are in a small town. Everyone was super nice and friendly, and helpful. No worries coming here 1 hour before your flight, there aren't enough people coming or going to need to do that . 45 minutes will work just fine. They are even trying to be more modern with "business commuter" areas with wi-fi and electrical outlets. So cute! read more

Everything an "off-on-another-adventure," small-town, "happy to-be-home" airport should be. When departing, the lines at the check-in counters are rarely more than two people deep, and the staff stationed at them have a heart when your luggage is 51/52 lbs. (50 lbs. is the current and normal max weight before the $50 upcharge). The security line is similarly occupied with two to three people passing through, and the TSA personnel have at least somewhat, if not fully, upturned lips (a smile). The airport is clean and spacious, and once the boarding door is closed, you'll never be waiting for a shred of ground traffic or some drawn out clearance for take-off... you just go. When you arrive back, you'll be at the gate within a minute or two of touch down, and off the plane in five. Your bags will be at the claim by the time you're done using the bathroom and calling your ride, and they're lenient about said ride being left parked near the exit and running while your loved one(s) come(s) to greet you. And if you're looking for a rental car rather than the fanfare, the agencies are twenty feet from the luggage carousel, so rent a car while your luggage surfs the conveyor. Through many years and dozens and dozens of trips, I've never had a regret about this airport... not one. This is the model for what other airports should be. read more
