It has also come in useful for the amount of immigrants that have come to meet the labouring demand to support the major developments the city has seen in the last ten years or so. These have included the Millennium Stadium, Cardiff Bay, and the current major work that is taking place in the centre. They cater for all kinds of people, temporary visitors, and long term visitors alike, offering courses in several languages, which of course include Welsh. When I did I have discovered that I am Dyslexic and during my free lessons I when to the Dyslexia Institute which is just around the corner from there. As a private school goes this place is pretty good, not excellent, but good. I had a huge amount of support and care that came individually, first from the head teacher of this school and then secondly from nearly every teacher that I had teach me. And they all new mine name and everyone else's, as did the head teacher. This school is a Nursery; a primary school, secondary school and you can do your A Levels here if you are clever enough, (so to speak) where as I could not. In the end I only achieved a C in Information Computer Technology, which I was lucky to get at all. They have smart expensive school uniform; which you have to pay for and you also have to pay a large sum of money every so often. They do a lot of sport at Kings Monkton which is a school that reminds me of Hogwarts in the Harry Potter, fantasy novel series. They had a small library when I was there and the type of wood that surrounded it reminds me of Hogwarts, as does one part of the school which has a deep; oak, brown wood which made me think and dream that I was walking down the castle corridors. Overall I do recommend it as a great school to attend, if your clever than me academically you will get on fine there particularly. It also has a new, more moderner complex, which is really posh. I had private singing lessons there and you can also have private music lessons, during spare class time; which is costly pricey too, but worth it.

Peter Lea Nursery in Fairwater, Cardiff is part of the Peter Lea Primary School. It has both a.m…read more and p.m. sessions and children attend 5 sessions a week either mornings or afternoons. There are two Teachers in Charge of Nursery aswell as Teaching Assistants. It is a large nursery with main play areas, quiet room, kitchen etc and a lovely enclosed safe garden for the children to play. The children are well looked after and are encouraged to interact and learn new things. Each term has a theme for new things to learn, and activities are based around that. Children are encouraged to learn a few words of Welsh and song time involves all the favourite nursery rhymes in both Welsh and English. Two of my children have attended this nursery and thoroughly enjoy their time there, coming home at the end of session extremely excited about that day's activites. Overall a fabulous nursery and recommended to anyone in the area.

You can find it opposite the Dow Corning's factory on the Cardiff Road. There are plenty of parking spaces and the Centre is also near bus stops and only a 10 minute walk from Cadoxton Station. There is disabled access with ramps and a stairlift, and a free crèche which is supervised by professional staff.. The times of opening are: Mon-Fri 9.30am-4.00pm Tues & Thurs 6.30pm 9.00pm

I have two children who went to this school and have grown up safely. That's a recommendation in…read moreitself. Taught both through the medium of Welsh or English depending upon what you choose. Or your children choose. Mine were in the English section but because they heard so much Welsh around the school they were also pretty good at that. It's a small school, so small that when my kids were there it had only two classes in the English section and about twice that in the Welsh. There's more now and nice new class rooms and, or course, children. Mine are both Oxbridging now so say pah to Eton and send your youngsters to Gwaelod (and Radyr).

The restored, beautiful old Llanthewy Road Baptist Church is home to the Burleigh Academy, a performing arts organisation set up by a former touring soul/rock singer to teaching dance and music. There are various spaces and studios, but the building's main area is Burleigh Hall, a 300-capacity room with a small, functional bar. An intriguing occasional gig venue covered in jazz memorabilia, unsurprisingly the smoother side of musical sounds are usually the staples of the programme, with regular jazz nights the main attractions. Although once in a blue moon, outside promoters provide intimate shows from rock-leaning acts. It also hosts wedding/civil partnership ceremonies, conferences, birthday and christening parties and theatre workshops.
