I returned the CPAP device using a box and label they sent me and I just got a nasty letter saying I haven't returned the device when it was delivered and I have the tracking number to prove it. I keep calling their office and people say that they'll look into it but do not. read more

One would think that after so many negative reviews the company would either improve or go out of business. But neither has happened. Vulnerable and deserving seniors are dependent on this company when it is clear they are only in business to collect Medicare and insurance premiums. I think there needs to be an audit by state or federal authorities for possible senior abuse and business malpractice. Come on people, we deserve better. 1. Terrible business practices using a complicated telephone transfer system that requires long waits and unresponsive or incompetent personnel. 2. Equipment requests are not handled efficiently and with no accountability when unfulfilled, leaving medical needs of patients lacking. 3. Physicians prescriptions are lost and patients are told to "get another one". 4. The company is too big and unable to deliver quality service. Apria Healthcare has been providing me with some pretty specialized PAP supplies for several years. When the ventilator itself began making a squealing sound, an Apria respiratory therapist worked carefully through the possible causes. We now rest assured that there is no leak and so no loss of function. When an Apria technician recently said that our favorite mask was now available after a big magnet scare, we were delighted. Our calls are always answered quickly and efficiently by caring and helpful customer service reps. I couldn't ask for more. read more

I have been overbilled, they did not send requested information to my insurance, and would not pick my equipment up when requested (resulting in an additional charge.). They sent me a letter asking for "more information" but it doesn't state what the information is! My insurance wants to pay the bill, but cannot due to their lack of response. I have been with Apria since 2019. In the last year or two, they have sent me the wrong product and one time, sent me the things I ordered plus something I did not order. When I called to let them know, a person told me they would contact me with information on how to return it. I never heard from anyone. In January, I was told I had an outstanding balance, but my online account has shown a zero balance since October of 2022. I tried to pay what they said I owed but I wanted some kind of physical or online documentation of what I owed. And, I can't pay online because it says I DON'T owe anything and there is no way to pay if you don't owe anything!! Since January, I have asked for an invoice or bill so I can pay what I owe. In January, I received an email from Amanda with a detailed report of EVERYTHING I have ordered (4 pages!) from Apria since 2019. This did not help me at all to know how much I owed. I have spoken with several people over the last few months. Several times I was told I would receive a bill, but nothing ever came. A few weeks ago, I spoke with a wonderful fellow when I ordered my month's supplies. He was GREAT. He transferred me over to the billing department. I spoke with a man with a foreign accent who was hard to understand. I said, "PLEASE send me a bill or invoice with the amount I need to pay. Please do not send me a bunch of Excel sheets with detailed reports. Please just send me a bill." He promptly said, "I will send you an itemized list of what you have ordered with the amounts." I said, "NO! PLEASE DO NOT send me a bunch of reports. Just the amount I need to pay." So, guess what? I got a three-page report with lots of numbers. No company name, address, or phone number. Just of report with my name and number at the top. So, I am sending it to the company address on the web page (even though I think it came from offices in Irving, TX.) So, today, I am sending what I think I owe after adding up the three reports. With a letter stating that I am done with Apria. read more

My CPAP died today on a Saturday. Called and received a message that the office in Irving is closed on the weekends. Gives an option to speak to someone for immediate service. Spoke with 2 different people and no results, basically said I have to wait until Monday. Very unhappy with the service support. Received an oxygen concentrator for my mother, but it keeps going into alarm. I have been attempting to contact Apria for 2-days. I waited on hold for +2 hours only to be disconnected. I left multiple voicemails and no one called back. I'm disturbed that I received malfunctioning equipment for critical healthcare and can't reach anyone at Apria that will help. read more

I would give -0 if possible, this company has ignored any cancelation conversations and continued to bill fly 92 yr old mother for the oxygen unit she will not need any longer, even when they were told it would not be used. My mother 92 yrs of age tried to communicate that she would no longer need unit as she was leaving this State. They have continued to bill her insurance and continue to bill her knowing she is no longer there, and the only response when now, I her daughter speak with them (after on hold for hours and numerous times ) is that she owes this money...I have even explained this cancelation to them, as well as questioning why they still have not picked up their unit, and stop charging for what she is not using or even in the same State of this unit. They cause so much difficulty to resolve this for my mother, I believe their objective is that I give up fighting for this correction and pay. They get ZERO stars. 1. I have waited on hold no less than 10 minutes each of the 12 times I have called. The longest I was on hold was 37 minutes. 2. My order was received but not processed. This put me a week behind. 3. I have had the WRONG wheelchair delivered 3 times. 4. The drivers have been ignorant of the products and try to bully you into keeping what you didn't order. Just awful customer care. 5. Now they won't take it back because they say it is what I ordered. It is not. My legs are too long for the leg rests and their answer is to deal with it. No. 6. Their "local" number rings to the call center in CA. You cannot contact the local office directly. There is no way that these people should be allowed to receive Medicare payments. Or any insurance payments. And there is not a way to properly complain about this service to anyone of authority. Apria didn't file the required information in time so my insurance denied a claim. Two years later Apria sent me the first invoice for the full amount. Next month they sent part of the balance to a third party collection agency. After 20 plus calls with my insurance company and Apria, Apria indicated the balance was zero.   However, they again attempted twice to collect the balance denied. Then they charged my credit card without notifying me which I had to dispute. I thought all was taken care of. However, I just received another call from the billing department. I now have sent a Do Not Contact Certified Letter per the Fair Practices Debt Collection Act . Maybe that will end this. Update: Apria charged my credit card again. They have no record of the charge. My credit card company said I could not dispute the charge again because I have already won the case. The credit card company made me file a Fraud Report to have the charge reversed. read more

BEWARE........DO NOT TRUST THIS COMPANY!! We used Apria healthcare after my mother was released from the hospital after recovering from COVID. The first oxygen concentrator malfunctioned and would turn off on its own. I left 5 messages in 2 days. Their response was that they were behind answering voice mails. It took an additional 2 days with a faulty oxygen concentrator until it was replaced. I had to monitor my mother 24-7 due to their negligence. Mom mom has since passed and I am being harassed for a $29.45 bill that is fraudulent. Their collections department calls me at least once a week. I continue to give their customer care reps the same information but they do not have any notes on file. Apria picked up all the equipment that we had and now they are stating that a wheel chair was missing. This was picked up with all of the other equipment. Take note of all the 1 star reviews. One star is way too many. My father had a CPAP. In December of 2018 he changed insurance. In January, we called back because he had gotten a bill he shouldn't have. Since then my mother and I have spoken to these people at least 10 times, and each time telling them his insurance providers, and each time he had no insurance listed. Also, each time the person says they will fix it. His doctor called, and Apria said it was fixed. It was never fixed. He passed away in June, and we returned the machine promptly. We are still getting a bill and on the back of the bill he is listed as self pay, no insurance. He has had insurance this entire time. These people are either clueless, careless or both. Run as fast as you and as far away as possible from this company unless you like having to solve a litany of issues you didn't create and make you pay for. Do NOT give them a credit card number or access to your money. They will not bill your insurance company in a timely manner and it will result in the insurance company declining to pay and if you have a card on file, YOU will pay for their mistakes. Sign up with them if you enjoy being on hold for hours, talking to employees who couldn't care less about your issues and have no intention of solving them. If you like getting the run-a-round and being lied to this is the company for you. Dealing with them has caused me unbelievable stress, and taken up hours of my personal time. I'm current on what the company website says I owe. I've paid, and yesterday I get an automated call demanding I be home so they can come pick up THEIR machine that was only two months from their 'rental' being fulfilled when Medicare took over my healthcare. I was proactive and did more than what is reasonable to avoid this problem. Instead I get garbled messages from someone with an Indian accent that are not understandable and when I've called back it's the same when I tell him I cannot understand a word he sends me into an automated system. Billing mistakes are evidently profitable for this company. They get to refurb and resell a unit that was 90% paid for. They remind me of a crooked Tote-the-Note used car dealer. Dealing with Apria Healthcare can be extremely frustrating. Their invoices have no details and make no sense, except to state you owe money for some unknown thing. When you call to ask questions about a bill every customer service rep will tell you it's another department's job to answer your questions and you will get this answer each time, no matter what department you talk to. Unless of course you call the number for accounting/finance, in which case your call will never be answered - the phone keeps ringing and then your call is disconnected!?%$#@ Most of the refills can be had for the same price online without insurance. It's so strange how apria will charge your insurance $300 for an item, your insurance will agree to pay $250, so you end up paying $50. While the same product costs $50 online at places like the 'Cpap Shop'. What's the point?? read more

Avoid this company like the plague unless you like spending HOURS on the phone WHEN (which is typically right away), not IF, you have a problem. You will get passed around the world and talk to countless agents who have no clue how to resolve your issue. Do NOT give them a credit card or ANY access to your money because they will take it. Make them send you a bill in the good ol' US Mail, and return any payment with a check. Billing you for something you don't owe through the mail is a crime. Document, document, document your conversations with names, numbers and details. File a grievance with your insurance company and the Joint Commission if you get no satisfaction. They will bill you and your insurance companies for exorbitant amounts, and charge you when you don't owe. Call your equipment a 'rental' when you and your insurance company PAID for it. After using Apria for years for CPAP supplies, our insurance changed at the beginning of 2014. For the first order of supplies for 2014, I indicated to the automated system that I have new insurance information. I was contacted by a representative who took all my new insurance information. I specifically stated I really only needed the head straps but was told a whole mask kit was the only way the new straps would be able to be sent. No other supplies were needed. I was told my total would be (after he'd checked all insurance information and verified coverage and specifically mentioned the deductible) $14.80. I agreed to that total and asked how he wanted to handle payment. He said they could send a bill or I could give a credit card. As there's been a rash of credit card numbers stolen recently, I asked if the information would be stored. Since it would be, I asked him to send me a bill. I haven't received the bill but the EOB from my insurance company came in showing Apria billed them $1093 for the mask. I called Apria about it and was told the insurance company makes them bill at the highest retail cost, then negotiate it down. My portion is now $147.97. As the mask has been opened, Apria will not accept a return, but the negotiated pricing is 10 times what I was told I would be billed. The woman I spoke to today acknowledged that their notes show the $14.80 quoted but she said that should just be my copay even though they already acknowledged they verified insurance when I was quoted $14.80 as my cost. With a deductible (which is verified with the insurance) my cost and my bill are apparently two different things?? If I had been told the true final price up front, I would have shopped this around, as I can find just the part I needed for $31 on Amazon. Avoid at all costs or it will cost you. If I didn't have to use this company because of my insurance, I would switch in a heartbeat! They never return phone calls. I have tried to get hold of them for two days straight and am left on hold for at least 30 minutes each time and them disconnected. They do not return calls either. I have been with them for about a month and have the concentrator and cords replaced 3 times and the oxygen refiller 2 times. I am trying to get a portable tank changed out because it will only hold oxygen for 10 minutes. This place is a joke. Do not use them. read more

Was with Apria 8-9 years ago for my wifes oxygen equipment- they were good for a while but left for another DME provider due to the same problems currently reported at Apria. Have been with two other well known DME providers since but having the same problems, lousy service or unable to provide the necessary equipment needed. If just one of the big three (Apria, Rhema/Rotech, or Lincare) would just get their "crap" together, they could get most of the DME business. We all need to let our Doctor's and Medical Facilities/Hospitals know about these problems as they have the "pull" and can get something done as they have the contacts with the Corporate Sales Staff with these DME providers. read more

I was pretty worried after reading these reviews, however I have had a great experience. Went and got my equipment, had an appointment with Kelly, who was very knowledgeable and nice. Afterwards needed to change my mask and had some other questions. She answered them via email and overnighted a new mask to me. I don't know about any billing stuff yet, so I can't comment on that, however so far, I have had a great experience. And some of the problems it seems people are having is probably more with insurance company not Apria, but Apria is the one that has to deal with it. read more

They said physician provided incomplete information and I asked if they could call my doctors office to get the information they needed the rep told me no, "they don't usually do that". In order to get my prescribed CPAB equipment, Apria Healthcare sent me an agreement to sign with 9 pages of fine print. After receiving the equipment I had an opportunity to review the fine print. What I found was that I signed an open ended rental agreement with no termination date, that I was responsible for all payments (whether my insurer covered the payment or not), that I had given Apria consent to access ALL of my medical records. When I contacted several Apria representatives regarding issues with the agreement, the only response was that this was their "standard" agreement and that it could not be changed or clarified. BAD business practices, Bad customer service, and apparent violations of Medicare and HIPA rules. read more

TERRIBLE. Home all day. Found a note on my door from the driver who said no one was home at noon. I was sitting at my table not 10 feet from the door. He never rang bell or knocked. Had to talk to call center in the Philippines numerous times. Finally was routed to Irving TX and that rep confirmed I'd get delivery today. Got an automated call that delivery was rescheduled for 4:45-8:45. It's now 9:30 and no delivery. One rep in Phillipines hung up on me. AWFUL service. I have to admit that I've not dealt a lot with Apria, but when my CPAP machine that had worked flawlessly from 1997 to 2017 finally wore out, they helped me get a used replacement machine set to the proper pressure - or, as close as they could, given the machine was so old. They also were quite helpful in getting me a new mask. I don't understand all the negative comments, as my experience has been positive. read more

I have used the CPAP for three years and have come to hate the company. If I knew of another company I could go to, I would change in a heartbeat. Was sent the wrong sleep machine, was told they need a new prescription. Talked with my doctor and the prescription was for an apap not a cpap. Got another prescription and it was faxed to Apria Healthcare. Talked with Apria Healthcare and was transferred from Janica in customer service to Annie in apap department. Annie told me i need to speak with the cpap department. I asked for a supervisor and she put me back through to customer service. Spoke with Alecia and she was great. They have had the order since August 24th and I haven't received the apap which is why I've had to call them. Giving a poor rating because of Annie who didn't seem to want to work and who should be reprimanded for putting me to customer service instead of a supervisor. Also because of Janica who should have been able to resolve just like Alecia who is in the same department. Kudos to Alecia for resolving the problem and taking her time to research and resolve. I am reviewing the Irving, TX location who supplied my mother's oxygen concentrator, as well as the corporate office. This is the worst company I have ever dealt with in regards to my mother's healthcare needs..and I have dealt with many. It is impossible to reach the Irving, TX location or the corporate office by phone....ever. Calls are just forwarded to voicemail. Voicemail states calls will be returned within 2 hours on business days or the next day if calls are received late. We have had issues with this concentrator multiple times and each time multiple calls were ignored. We've just had to keep calling for days. Today we started making calls around 10:00 AM and it is now 4:15 PM and as of yet no return call from the Irving location or from the corporate office. Fortunately, my mom has a mobile oxygen concentrator that can help when needed but I would be horrified to think I had to depend on this company 100% for my my mom's oxygen needs. I have finally decided to write this review to make others aware you won't likely get service when you need it. I have also informed my mom's primary care doctor so she can start the process for a different provider. Please consider using another company for your oxygen supplies. read more

Was brought wheelchair after hours and they just left it - no demonstration of usage. One of the legs is broken and have been trying for 2 months to get someone out to fix or replace. They will bombard you with automated phone calls and when you speak to a live person it is generally w someone from a foreign land which you will not be able to understand. Agree with everything everyone else has said. This is my second go round with Apria. I have to use them now because I am on Medi-care. I have a prescription for a change in my CPAP pressure. Easy, right? NOT. I got a call from one of the foreign employees mentioned and was told they cannot change the pressure on my machine because they did not supply the machine. BS!! I have had sooo many issues with Apria Healthcare that it is just really pathetic. I have COPD and use continuous oxygen and must sleep in a hospital so that my feet and head are elevated. I have had several issues with the bed that has been replaced twice. Once the feet got stuck in the raised position and would not go down. It took 3 days before they sent a technician out and he didn't know what was wrong and his solution was to remove a clamp that would allow him to lower the feet but left me without the ability to raise or lower the feet. He left with the promise to return the next day which he never did, but I did get a voice message from Carlos the branch manager that, they would be replacing the bed because they didn't know what was wrong. After about 3 weeks and me constant calling a supervisor stopped by because he was in the area and he wanted to see if my issue had been solved. This man figured out what the problem was and fixed it and found out that the other technicians had the wrong on the bed to raise and lower it. This is just the tip of the iceberg. Three weeks ago I contacted Apria because I was making arrangements to move and I wanted to set up for my equipment moved in advanced. They advised me that someone would be calling me the morning of the move to confirm the time and address. I called back the day before to see if there was anything else I needed to do and they assured me that everything was all set. As promised the morning of the move I received a phone call stating that they would be there between 3:15pm and 7:15pm, I checked every couple of hours the closer it got to 7pm. after 7p.m and no call ,no show. I finally got in touch with a representative of Apria that informed me that the branch manager "Carlos" cancelled the order because the bed was no longer a rental and they could not move it . Ok no one could have called to inform me of this so that I could have had the movers to move it earlier ?? So what about my oxygen equipment ? The are suppose to move that right? The representative reinstate the order to have someone to come out and move it which no one still has not showed up, called to apologize, or explain to this day. And to make the whole thing more disgusting. the representative thought the whole thing was so funny. This is my health at stake not theirs. My son and his friends finally moved it all. I am still having problems with this bed and someone was suppose to be here to day and the order was cancelled by none other than" Carlos", I will be consulting a lawyer tomorrow. read more

Customer service is the worst I've ever encountered!!!!! Have spent so much time on hold listening to their rattling muzak I want to blow my brains out. They sent me the wrong C-pap machine and the invoice doesn't match the invoice I signed. Someone actually went in and revised the invoice even though my doctor requested the Respironics brand. I don't know what kind of kick-backs Apria is getting from Res-Med but there is definitely something fishy going on. Sales wouldn't even tell me if they had the Respironics brand even when I asked her point blank. When they found out the doc prescribed the Respironics brand they suddenly changed their tune. But then I got the Res-Med brand anyway. The ONLY reason I'm dealing with these crooks is because I have to go through them for my Aetna insurance. I have been passed from number to number to number and put on hold too many times to count. When I asked to speak to a supervisor they transferred me to a voicemail that said all supervisors were busy and then hung up. Someone please rescue me from this transfer to the wrong department loop hell!!! And Apria...come on...fix the hold music!!!!! read more
