If I could give negative stars I would. My Sleep apnea machine was malfunctioning, and was still under warranty. I called Apria about it and they said that it wasn't under warranty. They then told me I could ship it to a company to have it fixed at my expense ($225). My insurance paid for the machine. I told them that my machine was still under warranty. They said no it isn't. Ok... the warranty issue kept coming up. Anyway, they told me I had to wait six months due to supply chain issues. I talked with a respiratory therapist, she agreed that it was malfunctioning. Again, with the warranty business. So I waited the six months and nothing. Once again with the respiratory therapist. After a discussion, and on my part frustration, she hung up on me. These people continued to talk in circles and were unwilling to help in any way. Meanwhile my health was paying the price. We contacted our Health Provider customer service. She put us on the phone with Apria. After a long discussion and Apria finally admitting that the warranty hadn't expired, Apria said that I would have to wait another month. My customer service rep said that, "That's unacceptable." Apria then said that they would deliver the machine. Well that didn't happen. I ended up having to pick it up myself. A nice 57 mile drive. Nice huh?? Yeah so much for great customer service by Apria. Apria could care less about a persons health or well being. They are rude, talk in circles, don't accept responsibility, and the individual that is their "Respiratory Therapist" is absolutely horrible. If I could use another company I would. I let it be known to my Provider that Apria shouldn't be used at all. They are terrible. read more

My husband has sleep apnea so he needs to hook up to a machine with an oxygen mask when he goes to bed every night. His old machine broke so we had to get it replaced and Apria was the one handling his account (he's in the Navy, so it comes at no charge to him!) - since his job schedule was very busy, I was the one picking up the machine for him. I have been using an oxygen concentrator and accessories for several years. The help and service I have received from Apria in Silverdale, WA has been first rate. I have also used their travel service several times where an Oxygen concentrator and/or portable O2 bottles have been provided by Apria offices in other cities. Several years ago the national company tried to implement a single phone number for the entire organization. That made it almost impossible to contact a local branch. Now both the local and national numbers work and things are great. From talking with people in other cities and from looking at online reviews it seems that there are great differences between various locations. However, my experience with Apria- Silverdale as well as the national organization has been great. read more

This place is unbelievable! My father in law dropped his prescription off for mobility resources and has been back twice wondering why he hasn't received his walking assistance devices. Well, now today, surgery day, I, his daughter in law have been to the office expressing the ASAP need so I can get him in the house after surgery and the rude ass girl and her manager are garbage! This is my first experience with Apria Healthcare. I was referred to use Apria because of insurance. It has been a frustrating and challenging process. Like many reviews, APria customer service was poor. The first time I called Apria and the woman answered my phone. she could not spell my name after I SPELL many times. At the Very beginning, I informed her I was not a patient at Apria. I just had my dr send referral to Apria a few days ago and asked her to check my status. She told me to just wait and Apria will call me and start the process. After almost one month, I heard nothing from Apria. I decided to call Apria. Sadly again another staff from Apria answered my call and could not spell my name at all. I asked to speak to supervisor and was put on hold. Finally someone came to speak to me on the phone and again I was asked to spell my name over and over. She looked at in the system; finally told me they never received any paperwork from my dr. (I can say my dr did fax everything with a confirmation). It was very Frustrating. I ended up reaching out my dr and asked to fax paperwork again. Then three days later, Apria/FedEx person delivered this medical device to my home address. But there was no instructions or details etc and missing a piece of face mask... I did not get any call on how much this medical device would cost etc. I am only speaking my own experience with how bad the service it has been . I really hope Apria takes patients concern/questions seriously and provide quality Care and uses equity driven practices... read more

Listen I am a very patient person and understand mistakes happen. But this company simply does not know how to communicate within their company . We needed a pediatric wheel chair. They called and told me they don't carry any equipment for children so she suggested another company. We talked about it for a solid 20 minutes and she was very confident. So we schedule a drop off with the other company and get it delivered to the hospital. I get a call from Apria saying they have our wheelchair ready and will deliver it the next day. I cancel it and tell her I was told they don't have them at all. She says they always have and apologizes. Problem solved right? Nope! Couple days after we get home and an Apria delivery guy arrives to deliver a pediatric wheel chair. We tell him we already have one and to take it back. He won't take it back. Call them again and schedule to have it picked up after telling the story yet again. No apology whatsoever. They get it the next day. Now I just got a flipping bill for the day it sat in my house. What a joke!! I will not be paying it nor using their services ever again!!!! read more

If I could, I'd give them less than a 1 star. They're rude on the phone, tried to send me to a place that is 3 hours from my home for an appointment and then hung up on me when I became frustrated and angry. No, I should not have lost it, but I have been trying to get a new C-pap machine for 2 months now. And, they have a store less than a mile from where I live. When I gave them the address I was transferred to a person who undoubtedly eats customers for sport. I will never use there company and will pay more out of pocket just to get better care. Not good. Just getting them to answer the phone is a major task. When they do answer you may be put on hold for a long time. I waited 39 minutes and gave up. . Finally you get a human being and he or she can't understand that you want an appointment. Keep trying to order replacements for you. Fitting a Cpap mask. Forget it. They fit you sitting up. Who sleeps sitting up? They do not use a template or measure you so they don't have a clue to your size. They try on a few and rush you because they have another patient waiting. My mask is too large. I am changing suppliers. Notice other Apria offices also have low ratings. The company needs to do a much better job of educating and training their staff. read more

I went in to get a CPAP machine this past week. During the appointment masks were handled by the Apria rep with bare hands. The masks go over your face or even slightly up your nose. This is the poorest sanitation I can imagine. Plus it's flu season. I happened to see some wipes on the table so I used those, BUT Apria shouldn't be handling these with bare hands and giving them to their patients to put over their faces. This is a great way to spread disease. It's their responsibility to use reasonable sanitation methods and they are NOT doing so. Secondly, if you go to their website, there are phone numbers listed for each branch. However, the call goes to a call center, not a branch. The rep I dealt with was clueless and English seemed to be a second language. I need a rep to send me an SD disk since it wasn't included with my machine like it was supposed to be. And it needs to be in my hands in three days so the CPAP machine can record info that my doctor needs. It's no going to happen since no calls have been returned. If I could give zero stars, I would. This place is terrible - BEWARE!! Luckily my 89-year old mom has us to help her. They forced delivery on her of the wrong product, a heavy, clunky and more expensive walker. When she tried to refuse it, the delivery man said she WOULD GET USED TO IT and left it. My husband helped her actually haul it back to the store where they said they don't take returns??? WHAT? Of THEIR ERROR? We reported them to Kaiser and the state. This is abusive! Now in spite of documentation, their bill collector is hounding my mom - even though we have proof from them we returned the walker and that Kaiser okayed everything. Shame on Apria for taking advantage of the elderly and vulnerable. Stay away from this company - run, do not walk! read more

I have NEVER been pleased with the way this outfit handles customer service. Their online ordering page is nearly impossible to figure out---the masks look very similar unless they are worn by a model---and I just don't find it to be customer-friendly. The Apria "store" in Silverdale isn't much better. I had a Respiratory Therapist (man) who was very arrogant and rude to me. My experiences have always been iffy. Got my supplies usually okay but when there's trouble, there's no one to help except driving to the place. There is only one phone number (kind of a 800 method) so you can't talk to a local person. Waited all day for return phone calls only to be told later that phone calls aren't returned until after 5:00 pm. So frustrating. Can't decide what to do because I would prefer a national DME. read more

Called Apria to find out which brands/types of DME they could provide to fill a prescription for a standard electric breast pump through my insurance. The local number sent me to a call center, none of the menu options applied, but finally got to a call center person who barely spoke English and was completely unhelpful in my request for information. Upon my request for transfer to the local office, I was disconnected. I called the local number again, played the menu game again, and this time got to a rep who spoke English but again, could not help. She also "transferred" me to the local office, and I was disconnected again! Good luck getting any business from the large volume of Tricare beneficiaries in the area with this kind of poor customer service. read more

I've been trying to do business with Apria for over a year now. No one answers the phone, my physician has to keep sending the same information to them over and over because it gets lost, they make promises they don't keep, and no one seems to understand what I need when I do make a connection - usually by getting in my car, taking time off from work, and driving 35 miles to their office. After some initial difficulties with oxygen delivery, I contacted an Apria manager via email. The response I received was quick, decisive, and customer service-oriented. There was a miscommunication between the skilled nursing facility and Apria, which Apria promptly corrected. The territorial manager even made a personal trip to the nursing facility to ensure proper paperwork was submitted. The follow-up by the Apria delivery person was excellent. I have had nothing but trouble with Apria and their billing. I have had to deal with their reps on the phone, giving information over and over. When I went to the Silverdale branch I was treated with indifference. The first time I went in to see about getting CPAP supplies I was treated very rudely. Overall a terrible experience. I agree with the reviews from Tom, Elizabeth, and Randall, but would like to add to it. I have tried to call the Silverdale office a half-dozen times, and have been connected to the third-world call center each time. I am simply trying to get replacement headgear -- but most of them say that they require a prescription and a fitting to sell me a $10.00 piece of cloth. When I finally got through to the appointment desk (also at the call center, but I couldn't be connected directly, so they took my number and information to call me back "very quickly" -- they actually called me back FOUR DAYS LATER), they scheduled me for an fitting (evidently the "rule" requiring a prescription to replace the headgear is bogus), they scheduled it just after lunch on a holiday.... when the office was closed. It's possible that the American Apria staff will be better, but since my general observation is that "birds of a feather flock together", their standard of performance will be comparable to that of their call center. I cannot imagine how any customer-oriented business can stay in operation when their first and most frequent customer contact -- the receptionist at the telephone -- is incomprehensible and incompetent. In addition to the poor service, I object in principle to Apria's evident practice of moving American jobs -- the front receptionist -- to an offshore call center. John read more

Absolutely the worst. After several attempts to contact the local office, which cannot be done, I went into the Silverdale branch. Funny they don't take calls because EVERY TIME I went in the girl behind the desk was on the phone. Anyhow when she helped me she said I needed to make an appointment and come back later. On the day of the appointment the girl at the desk was on the phone and the girl I had the appointment with was not very helpful or knowledgeable also the wait time seemed excessive for a place with no customers other than me. I was told I needed to make another appointment and come back again with my cpap machine. Would have been nice if I was told that before the appointment. On the third appointment after waiting again the girl looked at the machine for all of 2 seconds and said I was eligible for an updated machine. She said she would do the paperwork. I had to ask if I needed to see my doctor, she said no. I had to ask when I would hear back, she said 2 weeks. In the end I had spent 5 times as much time waiting than in consult. I saw only 2 people there, the girl on the phone and the girl from the back. After 2 weeks I heard nothing. Then I began calling the local phone number and could not get through --busy signal. Then when I finally got through It was to a call center or something where I waited on hold for 5 minutes and the woman on the other end could barely speak or understand English. After giving her my credentials she put me on hold came back after 3 minutes and asked me for my credentials again then put me on hold again and I got cut off. Next day the 5th attempt and went through the exact same procedure except after the second time I was put on hold I was transferred to another woman who did not speak English any better and again had to give her my life story. She put me on hold -- after 7 minutes I was disconnected. I finally got an American on the phone today. I asked If there was any way I could talk to the Silverdale Branch? She said no. After giving my life story for the second (or third) time she found out that the girl from the office never did her job and no machine was ordered. So I am back to square one. She said she would file the request for a new machine. No idea when I would hear back. Piss Poor way to do business. Very bad service. If you can use any other company I highly recommend you do not use Apria! read more
