I was referred to Amy and Momentum PT by another physical therapist who was equally as frustrated as I was with the lack of results I had achieved from years of PT. As someone that trains daily (with poorly shaped hips, chronic Achilles tendonosis, migraines and an auto-immune disorder), countless PT's over the years have waved the white flag, giving up when their standard protocols didn't yield results. So, it's safe to say that I've grown to be a bit pessimistic when it comes to bold statements and promises of less pain and more mobility. I tried to go into my first consultation with Amy open minded, though I'd grown pessimistic when it came to PT's. When I reached out to Amy, I was suffering from chronic shoulder impingement that was keeping from training in the pool, weight room, and mountain bike. I simply couldn't workout without getting a migraine. Overuse injuries had taken their toll and I was a mess and felt broken physically. I knew from my first phone consultation with Amy, that she was different. One of the greatest gifts that Amy gave me out of the gate was hope. Her approach, her style, her compassionate and thoughtful response to the questions I answered immediately made me feel optimistic. After my first session I sensed that Amy was someone with vision. Her out of the box approach to her practice is what I desperately needed. Within weeks Amy had reduced the frequency and severity of my migraines (something no other healthcare practitioner had achieved in twenty+ years) and she got me back to my exercise routines that are so critical to my physical and mental health. I was so encouraged--and blown away--by her ability to guide me back to my activities that we began addressing other chronic issues such as my hips and Achilles (issues that have been addressed by a dozen+ PT's with underwhelming results). My mom (70+) started going here a couple of years again in prep for knee replacement surgery (2). They got her whipped into shape and surgeries went well. They did her post op as well. As for insurance- mom has medicare & a secondary - so no out of pocket as long as she has met her yearly deductible. As for me, i was in town for a week or so, and needed some work done (if you read my other reviews, this will make sense). Katie -insurance person, receptionist, and stealer of credit cards (i forgot my card once, so i'm teasing here) - checked my insurance - it was covered, just had a $25 copay - which is my PPO copay - SCORE!! Jill - the quiet one, did the assessment, with the precision (and personality) of an engineer- she put me through my paces and assessed my range of motion & limitations. i should mention, when i told her of my diagnosis (don't worry, i'm going to live) she understood exactly what i needed. Emily - the warm hearted torture machine who shared their motto "no tears in therapy" was awesome. She significantly increased my range of motion in the 3 sessions i was there. Given 3 more sessions i could have gotten to 98to 100%. Emily gave me the exercises that Jill had identified i needed & had printed out. Oh, and you realize i'm joking about torture machine. The stretching did hurt at times, but needed. i assured her i needed her to be a little more aggressive since i was on a tight schedule.

They have soft peaceful music playing, noise machines, and aromatherapy oil diffusers going, creating a soft calming scent. Anna at the front desk is awesome - always there with a smile, greeting you as you walk in. She is so cool to talk to as well. I'm always happy to see her. I have seen two acupuncturists so far, but I really love Autumn Goodrich. I only book with her now. She has a maternal energy, making me feel like she is taking good care of me. She is a very knowledgeable practitioner and takes her time working with me, making me feel like I'm her only patient. Your first appointment is about 90 mins, where you fill out an in-depth medical questionnaire and the practitioner walks through it with you. They evaluate your tongue, take your pulse, and ask a lot of questions. Each follow up visit is about 45-60 mins. I have a history of stomach issues and chronic low back pain, so these areas have been my focus. Five sessions in, and I can tell a difference. I really look forward to coming in each week. It's a nice treat. I understand acupuncture to be great for stress management and the immune system. With winter approaching (and cold/flu season), I plan on going once/mo once I reach six sessions, going weekly. During your acupuncture session, you stay clothed but take your shoes and socks off. You're lying down either on your back or on your stomach (with a face rest - like a massage table) with soft sheets on the table to lie on (they even have flannel sheets for cold months!) and soft silk sheets (like real silk) to cover you up. They give you an eye mask to put over your eyes. Don't be surprised if you hear a lot of snoring. It's easy to fall asleep at PRH. There's tea and water in the kitchen area, where you can help yourself. Bathrooms are in the back. It's a great place, I highly recommend it. And they even have a sliding fee scale. What a nice gift PRH is to the Bozeman community.

I visited Dr. Mackey on March 3 with leg/back pain, and had a follow up appointment the next week…read more Two days later she called to let me know she'd tested positive for COVID on the same day as my follow up, and she made it clear that a) she'd only taken a test because she'd been planning a trip to Hawaii, and b) she was only informing her close contacts because she was required to by law. She attempted to soft-pedal the news by saying she'd taken a (notoriously unreliable) rapid test that morning, which was negative, and that she doubted she actually had COVID because she didn't personally know anyone who was infected. The overall tone of this call was that none of this was a big deal. Unfortunately, it was a big deal for me. I had friends staying with me that week, and none of us were vaccinated. To be safe, I immediately isolated myself in my room, and my friends packed up and left as soon as they could. Four days later I began having symptoms and took a COVID test, which came back positive. A few days after that, I had a follow up call with Dr. Mackey and let her know I had in fact contracted COVID. During this call, she told me that: 1. Though she had been eligible and had had numerous opportunities, she had chosen not to get a vaccine because she felt it was still experimental and potentially more dangerous than the virus itself. 2. That there is no definitive evidence COVID vaccines prevent transmission of the virus, and therefore no point in getting one. 3. That she didn't feel she needed to be vaccinated anyway, because she was not personally in a high-risk group. 4. That she doesn't treat sick people, so even if one of her patients were to contract COVID, it wouldn't really matter. 5. That the common cold is also caused by a corona virus, so it's very possible that our PCR tests produced false positives and nobody actually has COVID. 6. That she chose to wear a thin cloth mask during appointments rather than an N95, because N95s only protect the wearer. (This is false, and pertains only to the types of mask which have an exhaust valve built in. However, when I pointed out that even if such a thing were true, she might have prevented herself from getting infected and then infecting me, Dr. Mackey paused for a long time before claiming there was no way she could know I actually caught COVID from her, and that I could have gotten it by going into a store, or using a gas station bathroom.) I was fortunate because I had a relatively mild case, and have since mostly recovered. (Although I still have not recovered my sense of taste/smell.) My friends were fortunate because we cared enough to take precautions, so they were able to visit their elderly parents the following weekend. But what is truly maddening about this situation is that Dr. Mackey seemed unable to understand or take responsibility for the fact that her bad decisions around COVID don't just affect her. Even if it were true that every single one of her patients is young and healthy and in a "low-risk" group, some of them would certainly leave her office and interact with other people who aren't. Never mind the fact that even people in low-risk groups have died or been hospitalized, and that there are other negative long-term effects besides death that we still don't understand. I'm not writing this review to hurt Dr. Mackey or her business. I just wish that I'd known the things I know now before choosing to see her. If you've read all of the above and don't think any of it is relevant to you as a patient, that is your prerogative. But if, like me, you would prefer to see a medical professional who is not a vaccine skeptic, who takes every possible precaution to protect her patients, and who doesn't become defensive or evasive when asked to accept responsibility for her actions, then you now have that information, and you can make a more informed choice than I was able to.

I finally decide to go "out of network" when the quick 15 minute doctor visit wasn't enough to figure it out and an in network osteopath man handled me so much I was terrified of getting adjustments ever again. Her adjustments are amazing, next to miraculous! Her nature is very calm and intuitive and she approaches me as a partner, always making sure to ask me how I am doing. She really tuned into my body and gave me as much time as she could. I know some complain of the price tag but the visit isn't short. It's actually what you'd pay for just 15 minutes with an integrative doc for a consult but with Dr. Mackey you also get adjustments and can have a conversation versus quickly going through a checklist of symptoms and having someone throw supplements your way. Also, I didn't expect to have other issues addressed and discussed that could be exacerbating the issue but her recommendations were very helpful as she is very knowledgeable on many theories of wellness. She even told me about a theory that would later have me not needing to come as often called TMS, by Doctor Schrader and after reading that book I have improved even more.
