We were told that we would receive a phone call or text prior to techs showing up so that we can have our animals put away- that never happened. These sales people are relentless and rude. A young man continues to come to our private community (signs posted at all entrances NO SOLICITING) in the evening. No one wants to answer the door to the "pest" from Aptive after 8p. He is quite the con man stating he is contracted with multiple homes in the community and not soliciting. He travels on a segway while his car remains parked in the middle of the street at the stop sign. He has apparently garnered some information about people in the community and spews this information in an attempt to hook others. I followed him around the community until he stopped at my own home and stated, "this is your house?". I felt threatened that he will be returning to damage my property. He continued to give me made up names of clients and said he was going to their homes to speak with them. I said great, let's go. He continued to twist and turn attempting to lose me. At last, he returned to his car and stated he would be back the next day. Just not a great representative for a company. read more

Do not use this service. I have an 1 acre property and they are in and out in 15 minutes. I had to call them back to kill that ants I told them about and I ended up doing myself. I ask the sale person if there is a cancellation charge and he said no. There is a $150 cancellation fee. Long wait on the phone to get service and even longer to cancel the service. Go to a big box store and $19 you can insect control that works just as well. What a racket... read more

Well, don't usually do this, but I will make an exception. Aptive was in the neighborhood pushing their product. My neighbor sent them to my house, I listened and was interested. Checked to make sure the chemicals were environmentally safe for pets and plants, assured that they were. Didn't take the time to read agreement.... BIG MISTAKE! WITH TAXES AND EVERYTHING, OVER $500.00 FOR ONE YEAR. Listen carefully to sales pitch, they discussed ants and spiders, not one mention of roaches or any other insect. I emailed my cancellation 3 times and received a message back that the email was down for servicing, I called, had to leave message as there was no one available to handle call, so I taped a copy of the NOTICE OF CANCELLATION TO MY FRONT DOOR AND TOOK A PICTURE OF PLACEMENT. Now I'm on my way to Worthington to drop a signed NOTICE OF CANCELLATION to their office. The representatives of this company are relentless. They have solicited my home multiple times over the last year. Yesterday, a salesperson rang the bell and knocked when no answer despite the dog barking and several minutes passing. My mom was home with my sick child. She told him to go away and he persisted. They he came back a few hours later. My husband told him to go away and he just started his spiel anyway. I asked him if he happened to stop by earlier and he said yes, he had talked to someone and she told him to come back later. That is absolutely not true. They have also previously tried to guilt us into their services by telling us that all of the neighbors use them and our choice to not use them is impacting pests at other people's homes. Next time they come I will be asking for their solicitation permit and reporting them to the police for harassment. read more

I have signed up for Aptive on a special last year and it's been nothing but a struggle. I've had several applications including the reapplication and I still have spiders. After about the 4th time they told me that spiders are probably in the crawl space but we don't service the crawl space. Which means they just trapped them inside my house. Great. The sales guy was nice, the technicians are nice too. When I called to ask what my options were they said I am in a contract and they would be willing to discount the last two services or change me the termination fee but the service won't change and I will still have spiders because they don't know where they are coming from. Oh am I the pest control company? Um no. If I would have known the service wouldn't fix the problem do you think I would have signed up? NO. So save yourself the headache and call someone else. read more

AWFUL!!! SCAM!! If I could give 0 star I would. Broadview Hts, OH office is who serviced me. Solicited at home and signed up. Had a spray to cover for Ants, Spiders, ticks. I have more Ants of all kinds now than I did before they sprayed. Ant hills too. Spiders of all sorts. I called to have a respray. Was told they will come out to respray if not happy! Soonest was 4 wks. No! supervisor please. Apparently they don't have those because I never could get one to talk to or call me back. Emails sent several times. No response except a survey asking if I was happy with response. NO. Low and behold I received a call 5 wks after initial spray. Guy was on his way for my next application! Told him before he steps on my property I need to speak with a supervisor. Never showed up and no supervisor call. not surprised. So now they want to schedule my next appointment because i wasn't available to have the guy stop by!! Scam big time!!! read more

He was the most polite, kind, happy young man I think I've ever encountered in my life. My kids even came up to me and said they really liked him and he was so nice. I was very impressed. Aptive came to my door and I signed up but he 3 days to cancel and had to cancel within that time frame. I spent each day on the phone on hold for 1 and half hours before getting a message saying to leave my phone number, name, and problem. Never got a call back. I contacted the guy that came to my door, John, who said he would help get me cancelled. He said I was cancelled and when I got a text message about a treatment from an Aptive I again asked him if he cancelled me and reaffirmed me he cancelled me. I even tried called and have NEVER gotten an answer or call back. I again, get a text message saying I would get a quarterly treatment today and A payment was taken out of my account. AVOID this company & DONT GET RIPPED OFF - The Positive reviews on this site have to be from family and friends!! My story: I stupidly signed up for quarterly treatments based on good initial treatment quote and the salesman really talked the treatments up and sold me some snake oil. I had first treatment on 6/25 and was told I would get a free follow up treatment if the ants and spiders were not gone. Waited until 7/8 to contact after seeing the same (if not more) pest activity = ants and spiders! Had to leave message and was told I would get follow up call by the next day. Received text the next day asking "what would be a good day" Responded and never received another text. Texted on day I told them, and received text that my next quarterly service was scheduled for 7/20 - less than 30 days from initial reduced price treatment (qtrly treatments are very expensive in comparison). I texted back with questions and issues and only received a reply to call the office (which they don't answer for existing customers - you can only leave VM - you can call 614-375-2847 to see for yourself) with special needs or to reschedule and they also texted they do not do free services "if the quarterly is due to happen". I obviously made my bed and have to honor this quarterly contract I signed and pay these thieves over $150 four more times (to spray what is likely water around my house - and doesn't stop ants or spiders) before I can stop being ripped off. They do not even deserve 1 star. They never came out when they said they were going to. They would either reschedule or they just didn't show up for the appointment. I was charged about $400 within 3 months and I still had bugs. They never went away to begin with, through no fault of mine. I asked for a partial refund but was denied because they came out and serviced the house a few times. Oh and FYI they charge a cancellation fee, which thankfully they at least waved that. If you live in or around Fairfield county, OH go to Wells Pest Control. They got rid of the bugs in 1 visit and they are soo much cheaper. Can't believe I paid $400 for nothing! read more

I was skeptical when I first started with aptive, but in my second visit TYLER BRADY was my technician. He went way above and beyond my expectations. He Sprayed in the rafters of basement, looked for entry points around my house to keep mice or other critters out and plugged it up, and when I thought he was done he walked up and was knocking down some cobwebs that he found outside of my house! Just hired them. The technician was supposed to show up today for our first treatment between 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm. He did not arrive. When I called the office, I was told the window was extended to 6:30 without my knowledge or notice provided to me. Not a big deal but could be a sign of a communication problem. It is now after 6:30 pm and he has not arrived. I called again and was told I am still on the schedule for today and he is probably just running late. The technician has not reached out to notify me that he is running late nor do I have any idea when or if he is coming. If this is how they treat you on the first visit, I cannot imagine how they treat you by the fifth or sixth visit. Thinking it may have been a bad idea to hire these guys. Customer service representative essentially acted like it's not a big deal. Now nervous reading about others who were charged when no one showed or who had ineffective treatments too close together. read more

I have been customer of Aptive Environmental for almost 6 months. We had many spiders, centipedes, and stink bugs. Spiders are gone now, and we keep seeing dead centipedes, which means the pest control service is working! Unfortunately, we are still struggling with stink bugs, as we were told they are almost immune to any pest control service. However, we are really happy with Aptive Environmental. They would schedule a service whenever we called them without an extra charge. It is also important who performs the service. Today we had Tyler Brady in our house and he did a great job. He looked deeply in each corner of the house and checked everything before he started spraying. He spent almost an hour in the house and sprayed almost everywhere and put many glue traps wherever it was needed. read more

I have not used this service & never will. A representative from this company came to my door unannounced, uninvited & intrusive, coming threw a porch gate. He was asked to leave, and while taking his time to do so, my dogs were allowed to escape. This young man would not move, so I shoved him out of the way so I could run after the escaped dogs. He then proceeded to call the police, claiming he had been assaulted. He also proceeded to try to intimidate this 5'3" woman while we waited for the police in my front yard. This is a small town, & even a smaller neighborhood. The responding deputies thought it was a ridiculous call, as did I. If this is the caliber of employee this company employs, and in their sales force of all things, (don't you want to put your BEST foot forward at this stage?), then I assume it is a direct reflection on this company's moral & ethical standard. My advice is don't answer the door, or engage in ANY interaction with this company. read more

This company does door-to-door solicitation for bug/insect remediation from your lawn and inside and outside your home. We signed up in July, 2017. Called about noticing more activity in first few weeks after treatment, but was told that was normal and that bugs (ants) would die off eventually. The outside ants have diminished significantly, but not sure if that is a seasonal effect or the treatment. What we have noticed is more activity on the inside, spiders and what I call wood bugs. My husband and I agreed that this service was not meeting our expectations so we should just cancel. Tried emailing company. This generated a phone call asking that we contact them re: cancellation. Service Representative was very pleasant, but shared that we would be charged for a full treatment vs. the introductory offer cost of $49. So, they will be charging us an additional $180+ for cancelling the service. She assured me that all of this was disclosed in the fine print of the contract. We are not disputing the charges. We did sign the contract without reading it completely. Just know that we were disappointed in the effectiveness of the treatment, and would not recommend it to anyone. read more

I waited to post this review after relentless problems with this company. My husband spoke with Marissa in the last few days and she insisted we did not fufil our contract of quarterly visits. We had service June 2017, July 2017, Oct 2017 , Jan 2018, Feb 2018, april 2018..we cancelled after we were not seeing much results. Our son died in Oct 2017 and they were at our door trying to do more..we said please give us time and they only gave us 2 weeks and were back bothering us.. A few days ago they called and insisted on coming out again for a treatment..we said no we cancelled..Marissa was pushy and said we would have to pay regardless $193.. Yesterday a technician called us (Brady) to say he was on his way..we had to call him back and say NO, we are done..Today I have a $193 charge coming out of my bank..I will be reporting to the BBB, Next Door site, Bexley website and others...no one should be tormented as we have been.
