Cory had gone over all our choices and explained the prosses of the water system to us. four days later our system was installed an ready to go. Chris Ward was great. I would give him a 5! Scheduling is another story.! I was given a 4 hour window (12-4). Since I have poor phone service in the east Tennessee hills, I literally had to be on phone watch for the entire time. Chris called 15 minutes before 4 and arrived at 4:28. He was late due to ridiculous scheduling by the company. Please have the courtesy to restrict service windows to 2 hours or less and notify customers appropriately! read more

I was charged $395 for a Big Blue filter housing installed by Aqua Clear that replaced one that failed (sprang a leak). I later discovered that the identical part also manufactured by Big Blue is available at The Home Depot for $69.95. Also, Aqua Clear's residential service call fee is $185 compared to Knoxville area plumber charges of between $39 and $69 (Pipe Wrench, Hiller, Tennessee Standard Plumbing and others). The general manager insisted that his fee is in the middle of pack despite me telling him it isn't. Ultimately, instead of being charged $580 for the repair, my bill was lowered to $480 after some haggling. I was assured that was a great deal after I suggested that the true cost of the filter housing couldn't be more than $80. Turns out I was right -- even a bit high on my guess. Anyway, great water softening technology and the service technician, Nick, was fantastic, but you'll pay dearly and have to put up with dishonesty. Response to Krista: This isn't about the way I feel. It's about facts. The Home Depot price of $69.95 is for the Big Blue housing. That's all I needed and your price as stated on the invoice for the identical part is indeed $395. I don't think you lost money ... The fact Nick didn't have the necessary part in his van isn't my problem. And, actually, the trip back and forth to Lenoir City (at least an hour) was wasted because he in fact did use the housing he already had in his van. Ask him. Also, your effective service call charge is $185 ($90 plus $95), so it's deceptive to pretend that it is less than that. That's nearly triple the going rate in Knoxville, and most deduct the service charge from the bill. The quality of the work, especially where Nick is concerned, isn't the issue. I have no problem paying more than is customary for high-quality work I can trust, but I do object to price gouging and deception. read more

Can you give a negative stars review. Updating this... so after not agreeing to their offer to replace the RSV valve with a lesser spec model, I declined. A month later, I had a plumber come out and test the water pressure. They found the pressure just slightly high, walked to the RSV valve, turned with a screwdriver, and then everything was in spec. Bottom line, their employee claimed that the RSV valve was not working and had to be replaced immediately. The valve was perfectly fine, and they tried to pull a fast one. read more

I had a problem with odor coming from my well water. Their tech came out and he agreed I had a problem. He took a sample and sent it off to a lab. Before he left my home he needed a check for over $300. I was not comfortable with paying up front but did it anyway. I got the results from the lab but never again heard from Aqua Clear Water Systems. I sent a letter asking for a refund since no action was taken to remedy my problem and got no response. I filed a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and they, too got no response. The moral of the story...if you choose to use this company, do not give them payment up front. They have proven their lack of integrity. read more

Do yourself a favor and do not fall for the presentation of the sales person and check other companies out...the water feels like it has silicone in it...it has etched my granite countertop from where it had sit not being noticed. I called because my water had a faint sulphur smell, and the salesperson said it could be dead carcasses...and I fell for it...he had no way of knowing, nor did I....The shed they installed blew apart after the first strong wind...its now a very unattractive plastic thing in my yard tied down with straps... after spending almost 10k on this...I have buyers remorse very much so. I have owned a home for over 2 years which has a very expensive system. Month over month I have to have a technician come to the house to fix, adjust, backwash, etc the system. Each time they come they blame the previous technician for bad work. Today they were to call and come here after an installation around 1 or 2pm. It is 3pm and I have not heard from them. It is a shame they can't live up to a schedule or committment after all the service calls and $$ spent to maintenance this water softener system. The are always so pleasant on the phone. Avoid. Technician claimed my system was leaking from the tank heads, and that they no longer carried the parts. Gave my wife a quote of $4000.00 for the new upgraded model. Guess what? They were wrong. Once I returned from my trip, I found the exact same problem in my salt tank as I did before the last time they serviced our system. The leak was caused by, what looked like manipulation of the float gasket, the same exact problem from 1 year earlier. I'm fairly handy, so I was able to determine the problem, but I could clearly tell that the system was configured to fail. I just needed a simple filter and UV light exchange, and I'm trying to source with local businesses to help support our community, but this outfit is trying to pad their bottom line with your hard-earned money. Once I indicated our displeasure with the owner, we never heard back. I guess he figured we were not the suckers he was hoping for as customers. Just a warning to the community.
