This review has ben a long time coming...my husband wrote one but I also wanted to share my…read morethoughts. As a family with 3 boys, we had wanted a pool forever but it was never the right time, didn't have the extra cash around or when it was, it seemed like we were in a market where it was difficult to trust our decision with anyone. Until, my husband found Southern Serenity Pools. The owner was branching out to open his own company, which my husband and I both very much respected, being business owners as well. It was clear from the beginning that much the same as us, he branched out to do things his way (the right way). From day 1, there was no pressure and the process was seamless. In March of 2023, we signed our paperwork to get the process started. Step 1, the dreaded permitting, was the longest step of the entire process, but during the waiting period we had already been scheduled to go to the design center and choose all our finishes, ensuring no time wasted. After a bit of a waiting period, on 6/12/23 we finally received the permits and the very next day ground was cleared for the dig. There were many steps after this obviously (in fact being very Type A, I kept a detailed timeline document for this entire process and every step with dates), but work was always delivered on as promised, inspections were timely and we passed each one the first time. Southern Serenity even worked with all of the additional contractors to ensure we had a beautiful backyard oasis (turf, fence, gutters, etc). In mid July of 2023 our pool was being filled and the owner took his own quality time to deliver our pool school trainings. As is with any big investment, along the way there were "little issues" that arose but they were ALWAYS handled in a timely and professional manner. To say that this experience was flawless would be an understatement. As a family we would give 10 out of 5 stars if we could. We highly highly recommend and even now when the water is cold and we don't want to turn the pool heater on, we can't get enough of just looking outside at our beautiful backyard oasis!! I've never had any issues accessing equipment or finding parking, which makes working out here convenient and stress-free. The one thing I wish this location offered is a wider variety of group fitness classes. It seems like many YMCAs have reduced their class schedules since COVID, and I'd love to see that improve over time. One of the best benefits of a YMCA membership is being able to access multiple locations throughout the Tampa area. My only wish is that this particular location was a little closer to my house!

They have a larger ladder that makes it easy to walk into the Main Pool. There is a smaller pool that is very kid friendly that is primarily open on the weekends and in the summer when there is more staff to lifeguard both pools. They have Boys and Girls changing rooms that have showers. The cost to use the pool is the same as the City recreation fee of $30 or you can get the family plan for $50.
