He would also make a kitchen (except the plumbing), move a doorway, and do several other tasks to help us create a short-term rental apartment. He happily took our 60% down payment of about $17,000.00. Five months after the proposed finish date, the stairs and the doorway still needed to be finished! Communication with him was like dealing with a strikingly cocky adolescent. My wife and I started working inside the house to hurry things along, swearing we would not pay him any more than we already had! After many attempts to work with him, Mr. Clark (The Owner) informed us that "Neighbor's Choice" had gone out of business, but he would not require us to pay the remainder of what we OWED HIM!! Not even half of the work was completed after we paid him more than half the money! We found out from his sub-contractor that Ken gave him the job with very few details and had only paid him $10K! We tried to reason with The Owner to get the other $7K back since the only work he had done on the project was to collect our check. But, pirates never give back the booty! RUN from Neighbor's Choice Remodeling or any business with which The Owner is associated!!!

A bit later he came up and the problem had been solved! I had hot water again. I also want to add that as a mom with 5 young kids, that I had no problem letting him into our home. I felt safe and confident that he was respectful and I had nothing to worry about as I went about household chores. He says he will be there on a certain time of a certain day then will either show up for only a couple hours or he will just not show up at all. Then when he doesn't show up, he won't respond to text messages or phone calls for days and even a week+ sometimes. He has promised to be done so many times and disappointed us every time. His work is not high quality. He has grouted our shower twice now and it is still missing grout in many spots. He has left our house a mess with his tools and garbage on a daily basis. He is full of excuses instead of taking accountability and being a "classy" businessman. We have literally begged him to come get the job finished, to no avail. We have now filed a complaint with the State of Idaho Bureau of Occupational Licenses against his contractors license and are having to pay someone else to come in and finish the job that he has already been paid in full for. I saw another review with similar experiences about being put on the back burner and ignored so I encourage anyone considering A Touch of Class to reconsider. Don't get stuck in his rouse.
