Dr. Calvin Yang, first and foremost, is a consummate professional and a caring soul. He truly cares…read morefor how you are progressing and allows for adjustable methods in your healing. Dr. Yang never forces a treatment and will work with you to find the best path to living your best life. Punctual and accessible, Dr. Yang ensures that the environment where you meet is calming and discrete. I especially appreciate that he allows for a dual session with my partner and values both of our inputs. I can not recommend Dr. Yang enough!

If I could give this place 200,000,000,000 stars I would. He actually cares about his patients and…read moreis extremely knowledgeable (MD and PhD in Neuroscience). Yes, he has a great location, lots of parking ($5) and an office with impressive abstract paintings. What really sets him apart is THAT HE TRULY CARES AND CONSULTS WITH THE CLIENT 100%. Unlike my previous psychiatrists who would meet me for 15 minutes to glance at my chart and give me medication to try, Dr. Yang looked at everything, and I mean everything. He requested all past medical records to make a decision on which medications to suggest. He took into consideration my body's reactions to previous treatments and external factors. Had it not been for him I probably would not be alive. He met with me every two weeks for an hour, we would converse for 30 minutes, and go over medication and literature for the other half hour. He has completely honest about the pros and cons of each prescription, and if I was willing to try it. He never sugar coated anything, and I think that helped a lot. He also had a good idea on how my body would react, and he was always right. I am glad my friends helped me pay my initial consultation, and for Dr.Yang who did not turn me away but provided a payment plan for me after evaluation. Now I am enjoying my 30's and planning for the future. I did not think I would make it to see my 30th birthday before coming to Clarity Mental Health. This place goes beyond the call of duty for their patients. I always felt understood and respected on all levels. His office has a different entrance and exit for privacy and he never runs late, they answer all phone calls and I never had any problems with my pharmacy or paperwork. Extremely professional and trustworthy. Thanks to Dr.Yang, I am thriving and enjoying life today.

Dr Mizani is a miracle. When my therapist insisted I change…read morepsychiatrists from my last one to Mizani, I was reluctant because I thought "all psychiatrists kinda suck, I might as well deal with the one I have because it doesn't get much better." I have dealt with quite a few psychiatrists in my time, including at treatment centers; and all but her have supported this idea I had that psychiatrists have no emotional intelligence, but just a purely clinical view of the human brain and don't view patients as people to listen to but subjects to examine and push drugs on, always thinking they know better and saying insensitive things to invalidate my real struggles. But not her. She LISTENS. God, I have never met a psychiatrist who listens and really LISTENS like her. She cares what you have to say and takes everything you say seriously and into account before all of her carefully thought out decisions. She makes me feel seen, respected, taken seriously, cared for, and listened to. That's a rare find. And she really knows what she's talking about; her knowledge of psych and medication is very impressive beyond expectations. As soon as I started seeing her, she was able to immediately help what was wrong with my meds and change things around to the right mix. She always lays out multiple options (some containing adding meds, but always presenting alternatives and respecting any apprehension to meds), and takes the time to listen and weigh things out to whatever you feel is best for yourself. She helped refer me to mental health treatment in August when my depression was at its worst, and though the treatment was incredible, the psychiatrist there just couldn't compare. It reminded me of how lucky I am to have Dr Mizani, the best of the best. I have depression, anxiety, and a past of an eating disorder and she has been nothing but helpful and wise. These problems are big in my life but she has kept them under control like no other, and when they get less manageable, she finds the right solutions (like when she strongly encouraged me to go to treatment and provided those resources). Finding mental health professionals who know how to handle eating disorders and don't say totally triggering and incorrect things about them is surprisingly difficult, but she is one of the few who knows what she's doing and doesn't say triggering things. If you're struggling with your mental health and like me have fear around psychiatrists and their lack of emotional intelligence, please give Dr Mizani a try. She's different. She's gold.

I was referred Dr. Mizani when I was pregnant, dealing with anxiety and let's face it, I exhausted…read moretalking to my girlfriends about my issues and marriage. I would say I am a type A personality and I like things under my control. Pregnancy, however, turned my emotions on its head. Thanks to a surge of hormones, everything made me highly irritable and aggravated. I knew, or hoped, that it was just the pregnancy. I decided to seek help because I wanted my pregnancy to go smoothly. Dr. Mizani was the perfect person to hear me out. She heard me out and used her expertise to see patterns in my actions and offered me ways to approach concerns I had differently. She got mad with me, when I was mad, and she validated me just enough that it opened the gates to tell her more of what I was dealing with. She was able to discuss sensitive issues about my marriage that didn't make me feel embarrassed. She is highly professional and very experienced with working with personal matters and intimate matters of the heart and soul. I am so glad I was able to have her be my doctor . She is so well read, researched and up to date in her therapeutic approach. I have since referred two other friends to her who are also equally satisfied and comfortable with Dr. Mizani.

Dr M was sick and her assistant calls me 30 min before the appt to cancel. People get sick but 2 hrs later to call me. Even if she had 10 clients it takes 1 minutes to call maybe 5 at most and to reschedule Then I rescheduled with her Assistant for 2 weeks later taking time off work and confirming the appt. I get there and Dr M comes out and doesn't have me in the system . Dr M offers me to wait 30 min and get charged or comeback another time and the session will be free. Her Assistant claims the computer had to be refreshed. Complete bullshit. DR M may be a good at what she does I'll never know but she def needs a lesson on Business etiquette

She runs a very busy practice, teaches at UCLA and supervises students at the hospital. Dr. Zermeno is top notch. As far as the negative review, I understand she is expensive, as most Psychiatrists charge a substantial fee. As with any profession, she is running a business and requires payment in order to continue treatment. I doubt any medical provider in a private practice will provide services for free, even if the patient cannot afford treatment. Dr. Zermemo is the best out there. Highly recommended!

Now…read moreit's not like I've seen a hundred different psychiatrists here and came to this conclusion but I've seen a good handful of them and none of them even came close to how good Dr. Jamal was. I won't waste time to go on how unbelievably sh*tty the psychiatrists around are, let's just say it's no wonder so many people out there are so fu*ked up.. it's because of all these dumb doctors who went through all their years of training to waste your time and money. Dr. Jamal is professional, easy going, patient and asked all the right questions. He has a list of questions that he will go over with you to make sure if there was any problems other than what you think you have. He's familiar with what type of medication to prescribe for you depending on what insurance you have (as long as it's not some no name brand insurance). He will also answer any questions you have and is very patient. If given the chance Dr. Jamal would make a great friend, I'm sure. The only downside to seeing Dr. Jamal is that he doesn't accept insurance (but you can always ask your insurance for reimbursement, depending on your insurance) and it can be costly the first couple of times. After Dr. Jamal and you have established trust then (most likely) you can see him every 3 months, which will save you money rather than seeing him every month to refill your prescription.
