Some of the best pizzas I have eaten in London. Sold by the slice off a big wooden board at the counter, you probably wouldn't need more than 2 slices to fill you up without overdoing it. Come on, when eating pizza, you always have a slice too much..."oh, I can't leave that lonely slice" you say. You regret it, almost right away. Basically, go for 2, you should be fine. If you don't think that's enough though, feel free to pig out on one of those batter covered rice balls (can't remember the name of them now) but they is gooood too. There is a little seating area at the back which is more than comfortable, a little rustic and well worth pushing past the queue of people waiting to get served at the counter, very cosy - and you get a dedicated waiter/waitress, so if there is a queu you usually end up getting served quicker. Oh, but don't have your hopes set on coming here with a big group of people, seating is limited and you usually end up sharing a table with a couple of other people tucking into their Italian delights - say hi or just stay head down in that slice of pizza or bowl of Bolognese. If coming for lunch, get here about 12ish, gets busy and slow after that, and it is hard work standing in a queue looking at the food and not having any. read more

I went for a social event last week and was very impressed with the service.. The staff were super friendly and very happy to help.:: So, what didn't I like... There was no tables and the sitting area is bench around the perimeter of the room. This makes eating quite difficult and more of a drinks bar. The cocktail menu was very disappointing, it was very Campari and vermouth based and no fruity options or variety for my friend and I to go for. In the end, we both selected the prosecco, which gets a big thumbs up - absolutely delicious! The pizza was ok, nothing out of the ordinary, but what let this place down for me was the arancina balls.. I'd heard so much about these, but found them rather bland. Overall quite good - We had the arancina amatriciana which was quite good except it didn't taste fresh (just how it is when you make fried food and then reheat it?). We got the prosciutto/funghi pizza (ham and mushrooms) with tomato sauce, the pepperoni pizza and the special pizza with olives, asparagus and sundried tomatoes (sottobosco) pizza. The pizza dough was really good with great sauce to toppings ratio (ya I'm one of those people)!! The sitting area isn't super nice with your typical cafe metallic tables but overall the interior has cute vibes and decorations with the cinquecento in it. Love this place! Discovered it when I lived in bayswater. Pretty close in comparison with pizza from Rome (might be a bit better actually). The Carnivora is my favorite, for this visit we had half Carnivora and half 4 cheese pizza. The staff is always friendly and although it isn't a huge place (no where in London really is) it's never a long wait for a seat. There's always some football match playing. Must try! read more

Who wouldn't love the atmosphere of this place? I was a little wary after reading some reviews about bad customer service, but as soon as we walked in, attendants courteously waited while we decided and when we decided to eat in, were very obliged and we got an excellent waiter who was very attentive. My mom and I both ordered the gnocchi with mushrooms and cream sauce -- my mom claims it was delicious. Unfortunately for me, I had a cold, so my tastebuds weren't quite up to par, but I believe her :) Nice glass of red house wine and tiramisu for dessert. Price isn't bad either. Oh and our neighbors were eating some pizza that we wish we had stolen from under their noses. Definitely going back. read more

Excellent gem of an independent place! As the name suggests, Arancina does Italian food, specialising in pizzas and arancinas, little deep fried balls of risotto and filling. Great value pizzas which actually taste extremely authentic and good too. Base is not too thick, and has that authentic flavour of wood-fired pizzas. Toppings are a little sparse, but the flavours are good. I've had coffee there as well and it is pretty well done. The pizza displayed through a bright orange car was intriguing all by itself. In need of a quick bite before taking on Portobello Road shopping extravaganza. The pizza all looked delicious and the cooks in the back were shouting Italian so I knew it was legit. I got the prosciutto pizza which lacked somewhat in the cheese department but it was more like a bit of tomato sauce and lots of ham on toast but it was still delicious. Also they had Pelligrino Aranciata in a can - like orangina - amazing. Definitely recommend stopping by if you're around Notting Hill looking for something to nosh on. read more

Thanks to other Yelpers, I decided to give this place a shot while recently vacationing in London. I am SO happy I did!! I ended up going here twice during my time in the UK! The place itself is relatively small, but the atmosphere is very welcoming and the staff is beyond friendly. Each visit, I got the combo that includes one slice of pizza of your choice, an arancina ball of your choice, and a soda of your choice. I got pepperoni pizza both times because pepperoni is my favorite. The pizza gets such a crispy crust from the oven that it is baked in once you order! The arancina balls weren't something I was particularly a fan of (I had ham & cheese the first time, ragu the second), but my mom and aunt enjoyed them. The combo is surely enough to fill hungry bellies at such a great price too of £6.95! If I am ever in London again, I will definitely make sure I come back here!! read more

I feel compelled to begin typing this review one-handed as I eat my lunch, still warm from Arancina on Westbourne Grove. A long, rectangular slice of Vegetable pizza smothered with artichokes, aubergine, peppers and cheese, with a slightly blackened crispy base. This is the taste of pizza al taglio that I know and love from my travels in southern Italy. Exactly the same. Is it the dough, the oven, the type of cheese? It's all of them. And the arancina. Oh the arancina. A weighty fist-sized orange ball of seasoned Arborio rice with a deliciously gooey filling of cheese and ham in the centre, coated in breadcrumbs and deep-fried. If I had had one of these in Naples, Bari or Taranto, I would have been a happy man. And would I like a can of 'lemon soda' to go with it? Well, yes I would, as it happens. All of this to take away, for a fiver. I think I would hazard to say that, next to my pizza at Luna Rossa, this is the nicest Italian lunch I've had in the UK. Only had take-away from here. The food is great, massive servings and great value - it was £5.50 for a huge slice of pizza and a ragu arancina. It could have done with being heated up for a bit longer, but that could just be because I had to walk back to work with it first. The also take card, which is good. read more

Have gone here every time I'm in London for a quick bite on Portobello Road. Their pizza is delicious, cheap and fast. Great option if you're on the go, and shopping around. Not tons of seating but they do have an upstairs section. I tried one of their fried rice balls, which were good but I'd take the pizza over anything else on the menu. read more

Amazing pizza, authentic feel! I did prefer this place as a take-away though. You can sit upstairs and eat but it is not super cosy.

Ok, don't trust my review too much. I really like Roman style pizza and that's the style of pizza that this joint offers. Very crisp, thin bottom and rectangle shape. I went there somewhat early and I was the only guy speaking English, everyone else was speaking italian so maybe I'm not that bias towards the place. I loved pizza with the spicy italian sausage but didn't really like that much the one with no tomato sauce and lots of thick greens. Too hard to chew so I advise to stick with tomato base and only somewhat healthy toppings. I'm not actually sure if it is still open in the place as I've visited it about 2 months ago but still remember it quite well. Check on their website. Been to a few of their locations and liked the pizza in every one of those. But expect fine dining or super intimate atmosphere. Look at pictures first is my advise. I visited Arancina with about 20 work colleagues on a busy Thursday lunchtime. It's fair to say that not one of us left disappointed. Apart from the quick service, intimate setting and affordable prices, the best thing about this place is the food. I ordered the pasta with pesto thinking I was being un-adventurous, but as soon as it turned up I was impressed. The pesto was nothing like any other pesto I've ever eaten, either from a jar or from other Italian restaurants. It was undoubtedly handmade and tasted really fresh. Will definitely be visiting again - this time for a pizza, as I hear they're even better! read more

I've been to the Arancina's on Westbourne Grove many times. It is very good and very cheap - and, they have Furnette Branca!!! All you San Francisco cats know what I'm talkin about. sooo good! I've definitely found my new pizza place in London. The mushroom arancina ball was fairly mediocre, I'd honestly just skip the arancini and go straight for the pizza- it is cooked to perfection and all of the ingredients are perfectly balanced. Reheated pizza is a different experience than the freshly-out-of-the-oven one - which doesn't make it worse. Every time I order pizza and have some leftovers I enjoy reheating them in the oven the next day - here you have exactly that. The arancinas on the other hand (balls of rice with breadcrumbs around them with some extras inside like ham and cheese for example), from which the place took its name was kind of a disappointment for me. I had a slice of pizza to take away. I was served in only a few minutes and the pizza was very good, with a nice crusty crust just as I like it. For takeaway they promptly reheat the pizza but it doesn't have the "reheated" feel at all. Staff was friendly. read more

I've eaten lunch here several times but what I really like about it is being able to drop in and get a snack when I was on my way home. Having lived in Rome for 6 months, I'm pretty fussy about pizza and could not imagine eating Domino's pizza again in my life- (call me a snob but it's all fat and stodge). Arancina is as real as the deal gets in London- the pizza tastes amazing- thin crust, bursting with natural flavours and served by the slice. The downside is that it's at least twice as expensive as in Rome! Still- for a fiver you get yourself a decent home-cooked meal (they also do fantastically tasty pasta/ lasagne/ Italian roast chicken with the yummiest roast potatos!) and friendly service. It really is a little slice of the real Italian 'Pizza al Taglio' experience. You know it's great because half the people who eat here are Italians. Also highly recommended are the 'suppli' and 'arancino' which are balls of risotto with a filling made of mozzarello and tomato (suppli) or cream and mushroom or spinach and ricotta and then deep fried in a breadcrumb batter! Fantastic 'fast' Italian near Portbello Rd, popped in out of the rain while shopping and glad we did. The pizza was amazing, one of the best slices ive had, ever. Place is tiny with upstairs dining with a few window seats overlooking the narrow road. Plenty of items to choose from and all looked amazing. You pay and wait until its warmed up then take it upstairs to eat which costs an extra pound. You would be hard pressed to find a better pizza crust, the texture and taste was unreal. read more

I really like this place. It's one of these no non-sense friendly places that has great food, where you won't spend a fortune and it has a good atmosphere. It's not a restaurant for a date or nice sit down meal, but a great stop for lunch, dinner or a snack with a friend.
