We had an 80+ year old American Linden tree that was a few feet from the SE corner of our house. In August, large mushrooms clusters had flushed on one of the two main trunks of the tree. I was worried that it would fall onto the kitchen as winter storms are coming. I had seen Arbor Way in our neighborhood a year ago, and was very impressed that they were able to take down trees without any need for large equipment in the yard. I had kept their card just in case I should need tree services. They were prompt to answer their phones, my questions, and giving an free estimate. The day of service, they were quick and efficient in their work. They allowed us to observe them taking down the tree, provided we stayed the distance recommended by their main arborist. It was really cool to watch them take the tree down, like ballet in the air! They cut the tree to my specifications, as I wanted to have some of the trunk left for a living planter, or carved sculpture. All of the crew members were very professional, and courteous. They started at 8AM and finished around 12:30 or so. They left our yard cleaner than when they arrived, including our back patio. They even took the pile of branches I'd had stacked up for the free lawn waste day in Ames! I would HIGHLY recommend Arbor Way to anyone who needs tree service or removal! They came out for an estimate in a timely manner. I liked that he actually came out in person and talked with me about the concerns I had for all the trees on our property. He took a good 30-45 minutes talking with me. They gave me a couple different options depending on our financial situation. We had two trees cut down. They came out to cut the trees a week or two later. They were quick, cleaned up the yard nicely, piled up the wood we wanted to keep for fire wood against our fence, and delivered a truck full of mulch to our back garden plot for free. This is the 4th time I have hired Arbor Way to do work for me. Every time they were courteous and cleaned up afterwards. They are truly Arborists, and not just tree trimmers. They have formal education in trees and local plants, and are willing to give helpful advice. It is amazing how quickly they work, and their prices are reasonable, compared to competitors. They treat their employees like dirt and have absolutely no concern for their safety or well being. While they were removing a dead ash tree I watched a branch fall and knock an employee unconcious. Nick and Jeremy the owners of the company did not even stop the job. THEY KEPT CUTTING DOWN THE TREE WITH HIM UNDER IT!
