while usually our dogs are with us but if we need to board, I feel comfortable with Archer Rd Pet Resort. whether our senior dogs or our younger dogs, they are well cared for, even if the dogs need medication and special feeding. The best testament is the interaction between the dogs and the staff. read more

My friend who takes care of my dog during my out of town visits moved so I selected Archer Road Pet Resort since it had great reviews and was 10 minutes from my home. It was a great choice! I loved that they accepted intact dogs, and that each dog had it's own private outside yard to play in with the staff. My dog can be a bully with other dogs, so no use in encouraging that. My dog immediately fell in love with the staff and when I dropped him off, didn't even turn around to give me a good-bye gaze. The staff willingly accepted my feeding and care instructions, and when I picked up my pup 10 days later, he looked great. He didn't look or act stressed at all. The staff had texted a report card during my trip saying how he was having a good time, enjoying running around his yard. I am really glad I found this place and have no qualms about using it again. The Archer animal hospital is also right next door so God forbid your pet needs quick care, the staff doesn't have far to go. I heartily recommend Archer Road Pet Resort! read more

Our pup came home today after only a 2-night stay with red, weeping sores in between his toes on all 4 paws, a dime-sized area of skin removed from his chest and the skin on the top of his nose scraped off. His bed had to be thrown out because it was soaking wet and stunk. The staff upon drop off on day one- ushered him back quickly to the back did not address him at all and barely interacted with me. Upon pick up, staff offered no feedback on how he did and they did not give him his treats during his stay. I cannot imagine how poorly he was treated while in their care . read more

Our fur babies had a wonderful time at the Resort and we had no worries that our guys were safe and well taken care of. Our thirteen year old miniature schnauzer is a senior citizen that requires special diet, insulin injections, and eye drops twice daily. Our schnauzer puppy is six months old and a high energy wild and crazy guy. We had the highest confidence that the owner and workers at Archer Road took the care and needs of our pets in a professional and competent manner. In case of emergency there is a veterinarian hospital next door. The facility is just a few miles west of town on Archer Road and is attractive, bright and clean. The staff are energetic young animal lovers that love playing with their charges. We were so pleased with the dog's care that we will definitely bring them back on our next out of town trip. read more

We've been using Archer Road Pet Resort since January 2010. We'd had the same kennel in Gainesville from 1987 until 2010 until they closed so we were very spoiled. Archer Road has been excellent. We've boarded our 2 dogs and 2 cats. The dogs are happy to be there. You can tell when we arrive as they ignore us and are ready to run to the back! One of our dogs, Rufus, was almost 18, blind, deaf, and crazy, but they took excellent care of him. The cats aren't so happy to be boarded, but they pay special attention to their needs (one needs to be covered up all the time so she can hide and one is very sociable). When our old kennel closed, we tried about 4 different kennels, including the most expensive in town. We weren't happy until we found Archer Road. We travel a lot and probably leave the pets there on average one 4 to 8 days every six weeks. My highest recommendation.. Edit: And our next door neighbors have boarded their last two dogs here for many years as well. read more

We had to make an emergency trip to Gainesville to take care of family. Didn't have time to get our dogs boarded before we left. We walked into Archer Road Pet Resort with fingers crossed that they would have room. It isn't easy finding a kennel that welcomes a Saint Bernard! One of the owners, Garrett, met us at the desk and was very accommodating! Gave us a tour of their facility...which is spotless! After riding from Michigan with a 200 pound dog that was well past time for grooming....we decided to have him groomed while he was there to make the trip home more pleasant. Dusty, the groomer did a fantastic job! He looks better than he ever does when his regular groomer takes care of him! I wish we could take all of the staff home with us! Many, many thanks! We will definitely be back when we are in town! read more

Archer Road Pet Resort has consistently been excellent since we began booking with them in 2007. Their groomers have always been great. There was a transition period for a couple of months,between groomers and also again between owners, however, the excellence has remained. This place gives a high standard of care to their boarders. I have very pleased with their service for many years. I have boarded my dog and used their groomers at least 6 times per year for the last ten years. I have always been pleased. read more

Boarded 1 dog at 50 lbs and 1 dog at 5 lbs and was told at check in it would be 65$ for the day. When I picked up the dogs the next day the total was actually 93$ and was told to talk to the owner/manager the next day. Called the next day and was told the owner/manager was not there. Guess some company's run on autopilot and communication is a challenge. read more

My veterinarian in Jonesville recommended Archer Road Pet Resort, and it has worked out really well for me and my dog. The entire staff is extremely friendly and pet-oriented, and they relate to my dog as an individual--they know her personality, and remember her needs from visit to visit. When my Mom recently fell ill in another state, they were able to care for my dog for almost a month, even though it was at a very busy time of the year. Her Bordetella vaccine came due while she was there, and they handled that with no problem (as another poster said, it's handy to have a Vet's office next door). It's nice to be able to board my dog with complete confidence, with genuine animal lovers, and I can do so here. read more

I left my dog in the care of Archer Road Pet Resort and it was the biggest mistake i've made since becoming a dog owner. They returned my dog infested with ticks and sores. The owner attempted to "investigate" the situation and in turn called and blamed me for the situation. I have boarded my dog several times at another location with no difficulties and I will certainly not be returning nor recommending this business to anyone. read more

I have a very timid, small chihuahua that has never been boarded before so I was concerned as to how he would handle his first time. The staff at Archer Road immediately alleviated all of my fears with their kind and caring demeanors. They were extremely patient with me and took the time to discuss all of my concerns. When it finally came time to pick Diablo up after my vacation, I could tell he had a great time and really bonded with the staff. I now have no doubts about leaving him at Archer Road when I need to travel and I am confident he is in good hands! read more

Do NOT take your pets here for boarding!!! Let me explain my first and my very last experience with this awful place, first we checked reviews and read some pretty decent reviews and compared it with other boarding facilities and decided to go with this one. We dropped our two dogs off on Saturday and had made an appointment to do so. They stated they closed at noon, however we received a call at 11:00 from an employee letting us know they were going to close early and we had to have our dogs there before 11:30 or we no longer had an appointment. We rushed to get them there early and did make it there by 11:30. (This should have been a sign to avoid this place at any and all cost!) Our dogs had just recently had their 6 month checks-ups and were happy and very healthy pups according to our Vet. We asked what our final bill would be and we were told $84.00 but we HAD to pick them up before 11:00 on Monday. We were also told that if at any time our one dog went into heat, they would call us immediately and we would have to pick them up right away. Thankfully this did not happen, however please note that NO phone calls were given to us at any time during the coarse of the next 2 days. When we picked up our dogs before 11:00 on Monday, our bill came to $146.00. When my husband questioned the receptionist as to why our bill was so much higher than expected, we were told that our dogs had diarrhea and worms from the moment we dropped them off so the extra charges were for the bathing they had to do to our dogs. Then he was given back the bag we dropped off with our dogs and every single bag of food was STILL in the bag. Again we questioned them why this was and we were told that they do not feed dogs with diarrhea. They did however take it upon themselves to feed pumpkin to my dogs as they assumed this would help the situation. At no point in time were we called an informed of any of this. Keep in mind, we have no children and our dogs are like our children to us.(Yes, we are "those people.") I was furious that they did not feed our dogs for two full days and fed them pumpkin, something we would never do. I immediately took our dogs to our Vet, given the information from Archer Road Pet "Resort" and were told that our dogs did NOT have worms, as they never have and they did not have diarrhea but could have it given the pumpkin they were forced to eat. One of my dogs had cuts between all of her toes, including her back feet which appear to be from trying to get out of the crate they were caged in for two full days straight. They also had sores on their doggie elbows from lying in the crate for two full days. And one dog had lacerations around her neck from the leash they used on her. When I finally spoke to the owner of the God Awful facility, she told me that the worms my dog had were something that could only be found when my dogs were shedding..??? Well, my dogs are ALWAYS shedding but my REAL Vet told me this was absurd but did a full and complete check-up on them anyway. The only issue with my puppies were that they weighed less than they did a month prior at their 6 month check-up from not being fed for two days straight. When I asked the owner why we received no phone call regarding our sick pups, she stated they only call when it is something "serious" and refused to accept she had done anything wrong. I guess to her, having dogs with diarrhea, with worms, not feeding them, letting them stay in their crate, oh...and of course bathing them when your facility keeps them in crates for 2 days to lie in their own urine and feces so they can charge you extra isn't really something they consider SERIOUS. Once I explained that our Vet had checked out the dogs thoroughly and the claims they made were false, and the only issues were the ones that arose from being in their facility, she demanded we bring the dogs back to that hell hole to be examined by her. I wouldn't take my dogs back to that horrible place if you paid me a million dollars. I told her that and she then threated to come to our house to see the dogs herself. We had a third party check out the dogs that gave us this information. My husband explained to her that it would be in her best interest to never come to our house as I am beyond furious with this facility and this crazy woman. I strongly advise ANYONE who cares about your pets at all....AVOID THIS PLACE! I will be writing a letter to the State of Florida in an attempt to have this place investigated! read more
