I left my dog Abby for six days at Prestige Pet Resort Spa for the holidays. She became stressed out and had an accident in her bed. Staff removed the bed, placed her on a towel or something like tat for the reminder of the stay and did not wash nor removed the lining covers for days to at least wash them separately. I was told that they do not have an "industrial" washer and were too busy to do it. I find this unacceptable. When I called about it I was told to bring a cheaper bed in the future in case in happens again! Very disappointed with this! read more

We have had bad experiences at multiple different grooming locations in gainesville, and prior affiliated locations in up north. We decided to check this place out, and boy were we lucky! 1) Amazing price: we have a small 15 pound dog, and for nail clipping with trimming , full bath, and AMAZING cut, I was charged about $30.This is with hypoallergenic shampoo may I add. This is about half of what we pay for at chain stores, who for us, only have provided poor hair cuts with untrained groomers, occasional bad customer service, and often cuts on our little guy's skin! 2) Appointments: to be honest, on all 4 prior cuts, we either set up the day prior, or even just an hr prior. Basically, they try very hard to accommodate you if they can. 3)Service: always with a smile. Such a nice group; always friendly! The groomer is very experienced, and professional. My wife and I love prestige; I'm sure our little guy would agree! Note: I have not used boarding here yet, so I cannot comment; but it is a service they also provide. read more

Took my dog here for a grooming and when I got him back his left eye was shut. Never got a reason this happened..not impressed ..a dog groomer needs to pay attention to his job. I would not trust these people with my dog again! read more

The last two times that my dog has stayed here he got really sick the following day; as in, he had explosive diarrhea that my other dog caught. I spent hours taking him out and cleaning up poo. Initially, I wasn't sure whether it was Prestige or not- but because he got the exact same illness the second time, I'm pretty sure they're connected. I called the business and told them my concerns and they told me that they had a note that my dog threw up once while he stayed with them. They didn't mention this at all when I picked him up- and they didn't seem concerned that he was sick twice after staying with them. Not even an apology. I am finding someone else. read more

This was the first groomer I visited in Gainesville. Appointments were easy peasy. Just call in. They can give you a rough quote on services over the phone but, usually, the groomer prefers to talk to first-timers so he knows exactly what work needs to be done. I took my 70-lb German Shepherd-Golden Retriever mutt there for a bath and trim. They also brushed his teeth, trimmed his nails, and expressed his glands. (So glad I can pay someone to do that last part). I was charged only $27, not including tip. What a deal! The fur on his paws, around his groin area, and around his legs were trimmed. But the trim on the rest of his body was not that noticeable. The only drawbacks to this place were: 1. It took them a while to find me in the appointment book, discover that I was a new client and did not have a file, and obtain my dog's rabies records which I had faxed days prior to the appointment. The people were super friendly and nice and understood that my dog gets very anxious in vet clinics (as well as grooming places). However, they seemed disorganized. 2. I know this is a place that caters to animal clients but the smell that hit me when I walked in there was only a bit less than intolerable. I've been to other places that give off a cleaner and more sanitary vibe. For those two reasons, I give it 3 stars. Still, a good bang for the buck. read more

Totally fantastic! Clean beyond belief, I was in the Army, and I gotta tell you this would pass a white glove inspection. The people, is what makes it so so good. I know they have the best dog groomers in Gainesville. The people are polite and friendly, oh yeah, you talk about loving animals this place is unbelievable my good animal lover's. IMPRESSIVE! This place does not even deserve one star. I left my four cats there to be boarded for 10 days. I supplied them with their own bowls, bedding, food, toys and cat litter. One of my cats needed a medication to be placed in his ear once a day for his thyroid disease. It is a cream and very easy to apply. The only reason I used prestige is because they would give medication to cats. They had all been to my veterinarian a week prior and all were good to go. When I returned from my trip they brought my cats out in their carriers and I realized that one of my cats, the one with thyroid disease, looked terrible. One of the workers, Jody came outside to my car and told me that my cat had only eaten once a day and they had to throw away any of the leftover food because it would spoil. I guess they don't have a refrigerator there. This cat would eat six or seven times a day at home voraciously. I knew they could not feed them that much but I asked them to feed him at least three times a day and they agreed. My cat died half an hour after I picked him up. He was unresponsive and I rushed him to my vet where he died. These "professionals" did not contact me when my cat was not eating enough to keep him alive. NO ONE CONTACTED ME!!!!. We had given explicit instructions that they were allowed to use their vet at Shores animal Hospital if any medical attention was needed. He was never seen by their vet. I feel this was very irresponsible and I do blame them for the death of my cat. I am writing this review at the request of other pet owners so no one else has to go through this kind of pain. My cat suffered and then eventually died due to their lack of care. The Vet from Shores animal Hospital called me to reassure me that he had been fine the night before. He never saw the cat, he was just going by the word of the employees at prestige. I think he was afraid I was going to sue them, and he was trying to cover his butt. I do not recommend anyone take a pet to Prestige Pet Resort. They did not even have the common sense to contact the vet and that was the whole reason I boarded the cats there. This was all very traumatic, this cat was my buddy for 15 years and slept with me every night. They were certainly happy to take my thousand dollars with a big smile, they won't even acknowledge that they were negligent.My vet was able to draw blood as he was dying and said that there was no indication medication in his system. I don't even know if they gave him any medication while he was there. All I know is that my cat is gone and this could have been avoided. If I knew that he was not eating I would have flown back to Gainesville immediately and brought him home. I never was given that chance. This place is dangerous. I just reviewed the response from prestige pet resort. Looks like they are trying to blame me for my cat's death. I NEVER EVER told them not to contact me. I would never do that!! In They said their vet saw my cat and contacted me. Big lie!! When he spoke to me after my cat had died he never said that he had seen my cat. If he had seen my cat he would've ordered IV fluids to be given so he would not die. When I called prestige to get a hold of Lacey who requested a response from me they did not even know who she was.Turns out she is from corporate and I left a voicemail for her as she was not available. Big surprise! I believe that if a customer asks not to be contacted that the staff should refuse to do that. Highly unethical!!! Still no call back from Lacey, I will now contact the Veterinarian Board of Florida. read more

I take my cockapoo to Prestige for grooming regularly and have always had positive experiences. The dog is calm and happy afterward and looks terrific! Office staff are friendly and accommodating. The price is reasonable. read more

We have been taking our dogs to Prestige since it opened in the new building. We have a Schnauzer who is groomed and two rescues who just need bathing, etc. and hugs. The Schnauzer has always looked great . They come out ready to go home but appear to love the attention they have received. Love using this place read more

I have given this place many chances. I have tried time and again and probably ignored things I shouldn't have. I will not make this mistake again. I will never board my dog there ever again. The last two times I picked him up all of his bedding and his toys were filled with his urine. They obviously do not take these dogs out enough to do their business and to have the audacity to hand me back blankets and bedding full of urine!? And each time I pick my dog up from there it's obvious he was miserable. They cater to their select few, their favorites, and everyone else is treated like second class. Even with that they should at least take proper care of these animals that are left in their care and not have them sitting in urine bedding for days. They should be reported because to me that is abuse. read more

A follow-up to my review: The manager, Ms. Serena called and asked me to bring my dog in for a free medicated bath. She was very apologetic and very upset that my baby didn't have a positive experience. She went out of her way to pamper him and make him feel very comfortable. My puppy was scared to go in but was very happy when I went to pick him up. He kept putting his paws up on Ms. Serena and was very comfortable with her. I want to thank Ms. Serena and her staff for following up with me. We plan to go back to Pet Prestige for another grooming and see how things go. read more

Would not recommend this kennel. We made prior arrangements for our dog several days to dropping him off. When we arrived the morning to drop him off, they informed us there would additional charges that were not previously disclosed. When we picked him up the next day, we were informed because he is "hyper", they would not take him for future stays. They also charged us full price for his groom, while doing a half way job on his nails and had the audacity to ask for a tip for the groomer! read more

We have three dogs, two, two-year old cocker spaniel litter mates and a crazy miniature cheeweenie. The female cocker is very timid and shy and her one prior stay in another kennel was not good. So I was dreading this. They are also kennel trained and sleep in their kennels. These guys were great. They have some really large rooms and all three dogs and their kennels fit great. In the other kennel when we picked them up Claire was a mess and hid out for two days. This time when we picked them up you'd think they had been with best friends. So happy with the friendly staff and the way they took care of our babies. I also like knowing there is a vet next door! read more

i've been taking my two dachshund babies, hansel & gretel, to prestige pet resort for years now. i have never had anything less than a stellar experience and didn't think it could get much better than it already is. well i was sure wrong about that!! this past monday i had a medical emergency and knew i needed to go to the emergency room. even though i knew they closed at 6:00 PM, i called them at 5:40 PM and explained my situation to Alexis. She said not to worry and she would wait until I got there which would be about 6:15-6:30 PM at the earliest. When i arrived she helped me through their check-in process quickly so i could be on my way (i live alone so was driving myself). Not only that, she called me twice while I was in the hospital just to check on me. they are truly the most caring facility -- not only for the pets but for the pets' mommies and daddies!!! love all of them there! I recently had to leave for a week on a family emergency. What a huge blessing that I could just call & leave my dogs without worry and that Prestige Pet Resort is so available & helpful, no questions asked. Their response is always, "We got you covered." And they really do!! My dogs aren't easy; one is old and used to home & the other is active & a bit mischevious, but both always come home healthy & happy!!
