A women employee accused a customer of stealing and claimed "witnessing" the guest shoplift, only…read moreto then did the employee change her story and lie to the police that it was another customer who had originally seen the theft. I highly suggest management look into this, this is no way for customers to be treated and I'm sure this employee will do this again. Guest was found to have not stolen anything and employee did not apologize. Will not be shopping at Dollar General from here on out.

An employee at this Summerville store intentionally misrepresented to the local police that a group…read moreof hikers from the Pinhoti Trail who were resupplying here had stolen Claritin. The hikers had taken nothing. After interrogation by police, the hikers were free to continue their travels. I'd definitely suggest giving this store, and potentially this town, a wide berth until attitudes towards hikers have changed.
