Since moving, we've been adjusting to living on one income and it's been financially challenging due to the amount of time it took me to find a job. When we got to the register, we realized we were $1.23 short. It may not seem like much, but in that moment it felt incredibly heavy. As we were trying to decide what to put back, our cashier Jacob quietly walked around the register and paid the difference himself without hesitation. He didn't make a big scene or make us feel embarrassed -- he simply chose kindness. That small act meant more to us than he probably realizes. After months of stress and uncertainty, the Lord really reminded us that there are still genuinely good people in this world. Jacob, thank you for your compassion and generosity. You made a difference for us that night. Ingles is lucky to have someone like you on their team -- he absolutely deserves recognition and a raise!

While grocery…read morestores are not normally on my itinerary on road trips, I made the pit stop into this Ingles for a potty break due to the neighboring gas station not having facilities available...and since I was already there, I did a bit of browsing and shopping. The store, like most Ingles, is a bit dated and worn. The brand is not known for shiny new and updates stores, so this location is definitely "classic". Since I was traveling, I stayed in the interior aisles and picked up a few snacks and staples that I needed, saved me a trip closer to home. I will say that Ingles is a bit pricey compared to other grocery stores, surprisingly so on majority of the items I scoped, fresh food and all. Check out was okay. The cashier was nice, but not "friendly" or engaging. I get it is a transaction, and it definitely felt just as such. Overall, I get the need and dependence on this location for the local community. Good spot for groceries, just a bit high on prices and service could use some tweaks.

When I told her it was for my wedding she wasn't excited or happy she didn't even smile at me. I definitely did not feel welcome I just felt like some sort of unwelcome task. She said that I need to come back another day because I have to set up an appointment to go over wedding cakes with her. Due to me not being local I asked if we could do it over the phone, or if I could go to my local Publix and then have them fax the info over or if there was anything - anything - I could do to save a 2 hour drive(4 hours there & back) She was adamant I needed to come in person. Fast forward I drove out there, and for what? A 15 minute meeting that could have been done over the phone with an online brochure!!!!!!! It felt like a complete waste of my time, and gas. At first I understood where she was coming from but she was not at all understanding for my point of view. Regardless I decided to try and be positive and I took the estimate home for my finance to look over and we decided to move forward because I've already put so much time and effort into this...and here I am unable to pay for it online. Buc-ee's is more than a gas station... it's an experience! This one sits a little past halfway on the Nashville-to-Atlanta drive, so a lot of us hit it often, and that's my main gripe: it is way, way too crowded. Almost every visit, even off-peak, there's traffic just getting off the highway and into the lot. They don't manage it well for a lot this size, and it always feels like you're one distracted driver away from a fender bender. Parking is tough, sometimes requiring circling around or parking far away. I come here mostly for the clean bathrooms, so having to wait in line for the women's restroom on two recent visits felt outrageous given there must be fifty stalls in there. Inside, weird and tasty snacks galore. Everyone says get the brisket and jerky, but insiders know the breakfast burritos are the true star, fresh-made flour tortillas and all. The highlight of my last stop was dill pickle sour straws, handed out as samples, excellent. The sugar-roasted candied pecans look tempting but are rarely actually fresh and warm at this location, which is frustrating. Then there's a warehouse-worth of home goods, clothing, house supplies, and anything you can print a Bucc-ee on. The t-shirts are my favorite, absurdly soft, my fave for sleeping in. This spot is ultimately still a classic Buc-ee's experience. But the crowds and the traffic and the general hassle make me think twice about stopping. Gas here is cheap, though not the cheapest on the route.

Not to mention the time I got signed up for a Walmart + subscription without my consent. I went to customer service, and she told me "yeah, there was a day where all self checkouts accidentally signed up everyone who used them." Then, she directed me to a supervisor who could help we with a refund, and said supervisor told me, and I quote, "WELL AINT NOBODY GO ON YOIR PHONE AND SIGN YOU UP." As if a worker didn't literally just admit to me that Walmart self checkouts scammed me. She then ignored me for 15 minutes so I left and went to file a chargeback with my bank. And when I went to file that chargeback, the bank told me they had someone come in that morning for the same exact reason. So they don't take any accountability.
