I normally don't give one star ratings. Yet, when I go to get gas and they have the inside closed. It makes it really hard. Since you can't pay cash and get the deal. I get the day. May have to close for 30 or even 40 minutes. Yet, when it's more like hours... with no posted sign. Saying when they'll be open again. Only that they're closed for maintenance. Which means they're restocking and cleaning the store. This seems to happen a lot around 2 AM. Sometimes till almost 5 AM. Which seemed a bit ridiculous. If they had one of those windows where you could just slide the cash in. Then I could understand. I guess I'll be getting gas tomorrow. I should say later today. read more

Rude, Rude, Rude! I went in early in the morning on a weekend and it was fairly busy. There were probably 3-4 people in line. I decided to look around for a minute or two and wait for the line to clear. It did and I walked up to the checkout where an older gentleman was counting out some cash. I said "good morning'. He looked up but just kept counting. Ok, I get it....Maybe I interrupted his count. However, when he was done a few seconds later, still no welcome. He checks out my two items and just points at the card scanner. I scan my card and I said Thank you. No reply. A woman comes in and he screams something about taking out the garbage. They conversed as I started to walk out but I could still hear him yelling or at least speaking loudly. I think this is a very clear case of someone having a bad day and taking it out on their customers! If anyone monitors this site, I am sure you probably know who this employees is. What happened to this place? For the past 20 years I filled up my gas tank at this station. Always the cheapest gas prices in town. Not anymore! They have the highest prices on Willow Pass Road now. Throw in some rude customer service and I quit going here forever. Much cheaper gas either direction on Willow Pass. Stay away. read more

Get into this: This ARCO/AMPM (which should we call it? The world may never know, and most people aside from me may never give a plum-diddly-plop) consistently has the lowest prices in the area. So much so that landing in Pleasant Hill, Walnut Creek, Pittsburg or any neighboring borough in need of gas will still prompt me to drive on over. On E? Simply fill up to the lowest required decibel wherever thouest findest thyself and push forward to the promise land. (And if you don't know where that is by this sentence, keep up, good chap... It's this place!) I've watched this spot's prices skyrocket, divy, dirty dance and downright dip from some stellar costs to some steady spigots but lately I've been damned impressed. Damned impressed, if I do say. I'm getting beat down day by day at every angle: expensive coffee, rent hikes, produce shortages, candle surcharges. Hell, even the things that kill me seem to cost more every single day. (Hey there, tobacco taxes!) Any break that I can get is more than welcome, and you'll be singing the same tune by the time you leave this place. I haven't been this in love with a "dip, baby, DIP!" since the 69 Boyz taught me and my sister the Tootsee Roll and my mom and auntie banned pretty much all "music that disrespected or otherwise perpetuated the objectification of the female form" from our household. i would have given this spot 2 stars bc the ampm store is always clean inside. i decided not to pay at the pump this morning and I went inside to pay. i told the clerk lady, on accident, "$20.00 on pump 19." Mins you, my mom was just discharged from the hospital suffering heart issues and my dad has his radiation consultation this morning. So my brain was not there this morning while paying. this clerk lady was really rude and said "are you stupid?, really? Pump 19 is down the street." all I said after that was, "geez" I don't know who these people be hiring but if you want people to have a better image of your gas station and convenience store, I highly suggest you train your staff to be more kind to others -- especially their customers. just bc someone's having an off day or someone is disgruntled, it doesn't give you, the clerk, the right to be hella rude back like that. read more

This the only Arco I go to they have the cheapest gas around here. I commute to SF from Antioch every day so you know it gets pretty pricy filling up every other darn day so you have to go gas searching looking and hoping to find gas at a reasonable price lol oh yeah plus after 2 hours of sitting in non moving traffic sipping on a large sweet tea its always nice to pull up to a clean restroom that I don't have to sop and ask for a key for! The restrooms are always clean so far when I go there. The agents are super cool no attitudes smiles with the service and its never really full either even if you pull up and all the pumps are taken its enough that you won't wait long. Only bug I have is that some of the pumps don't take cards and they don't have them labeled. One night I found that out the hard way I really rolled around 3 pumps til I found one that worked. read more

It takes a lot to give a gas station five stars. But this ARCO has earned it. So, whaddaya got? Prices on the low side, sometimes the lowest in town. Yet it's not cheap gas, it's good for your engine. Large place with 12 pumps, at a prominent corner on Willow Pass Road. Well taken care of, even in a poorer-than-average neighborhood. Large am/pm store. Open 24 hours/day. Negatives . . . well, I'll need to think about that, I can't think of any right now . . . And a little extra: either my wife or I go by this gas station almost every day. It's on the way to my girl's school, and I pass by it when going to house church. Can't beat that convenience - except that we also have a reloadable gas card that we use at the pump (saves the 35c convenience fee). The Bon Fair two blocks away also has good prices, sometimes lower than ARCO, but ARCO is very much a better deal. Even when Bon Fair is priced lower, ARCO still gets better business, and that tells you something in this Depression. This is the place to fill up your tank and your stomach. It's also the review that got me my 100th for 2013 :-) read more

This Arco just stole $50 from me! Possibly it was a scam. You ask how they did it? They have pumps that are broken and then they refuse to give a credit back. Read below! I go to the pump and I try to use my credit card but it does not work. I finally see a message saying, "Pay at pump not available use card inside (KSB)." So I go inside and pay my $50 plus $1.29 for a donut. I immediately go to the pump and the pump does not work. I put the handle back in the pump and try it again but it does not work. I go inside and the first clerk says "you were timed out. " I say I went out in 30 seconds so that makes no sense. The other very rude clerk says I did something wrong and it was my fault. That is ridiculous as I think after 50 years I know how to pump gas. She insists it was me. She says they will credit the $50 and I have to pump again. I say I want my $50 back. She says it automatically will credit me. I look at my Credit Card app and see the payment pending but no credit. She refuses to do anything and says the manager is not here. She says go back out and put your credit card in again. I am getting quite angry as I am out $50. I go out and again try my credit card and it does not work. I go inside and rude jerk of a clerk comes out acting as if it was me. She tries it and the pump does not work. I show her the message and finally she says back up to the other pump. We have some words mainly because she just stole $50 from me and just keeps lying. It is now 4 hours later the second payment for gas is on my account but there is no $50 credit. this Arco has the cheapest gas on this street @3.93, tied with the other arco for concord's cheapest. besides cheap gas, the chips, beers, sodas, snacks, ready to eats, are relatively cheaper than the 7-11 across the street. beer: orchard cider hard cider (1.85) 2ish out the door. -many other extraordinary tokes at reasonable prices. on draught: -i can get gassed up many way cheaply here. -uber friendly, mainstream american service too. -former chevron station. read more

When your gas prices are 30 centavos (or more) cheaper than Central Walnut Creek, that works for me. This station is out on the edge of Concord Naval Weapons Station. If you're coming down Highway 4, you can use Willow Pass Road to fill up here, and head through to downtown Concord. (There are several other smaller stations on the same street that offer comparable prices.) This station is also well lit (important for women late at night), clean, and sports a fully stocked AM / PM mini market, with two hard-working staff. They also have restrooms open to the public - and some great beer prices on what the Germans call "piss brew" - i.e., Budweiser. Hey, this is CON-cord. read more

Cheaper gas than the other stations around it. And it was the only one that was open really late that night. I was desperate for some gas and I kept driving by these closed gas stations. Finally I drove up to this one. It was well lit and there were barely any cars there. I was glad that the station's store was open so I didn't have to talk to the cashier through a window to get what I wanted. I purchased a Red Bull for the drive and filled up my tank. The cashier was nice enough to ask me how my day was. This gas station was a life-saver that night. I would definitely go back if I ever am in that area again. This place still charges the $.35 debit card fee. Is that amount of money going to break the bank? Not at all, but a law was passed making sure banks couldn't charge fees for processing debit cards, so this becomes a "just pay them an extra $.35 cents for whatever you buy" fee. I came to this ampm on my way home. We decided to get slushees, for one the Coca Cola flavor wasn't working. Then my sister decided to get some nachos. She grabbed a container of nachos and the bag was already open. I tried to get the man behind the counter, David, but he was having trouble with another customer so I set the nachos on the counter. I came back to my sister who was at the nacho cheese machine but it still didn't work. She tried to flag the cashier, David, down again. She says "excuse me sir, is there no more cheese in this machine?" He says "well if no cheese is coming out it must not be any" so we're like okay nvm. She didn't even want the nachos anymore. He comes over, opens the nacho machine, moves the cheese bag around a bit and closes it. We close up the nachos and put it back on the nacho counter because there's no cheese. Then we get to the counter and he doesn't want to take my 5$ bill because the OUTSIDE RIDGE of it has ONE hole punch in it. So I snatch it back and give him a $10 bill. And my sister asks "what about the bill is bad?" David says nothing I just don't wanna take it. I'm like wtf?! The total is $4.63. So he gets this macho man attitude like I don't have to take the bill if I don't want to and you better be glad I didn't charge you for those nachos. Yes, I used to go to this gas station all the time, the employee were always so nice, but this morning when I went there, I was wondering if this place is under new management because nothing seemed to be working (credit card machine doesn't work outside) and the place looked like it hasn't been cleaned in a very long time.....and the customer service sucked. I asked Anthony when the machine was going to be fixed and he gave me a bullshit answer....no eye contact....just kept doing what he was doing like I wasn't even there. Be prepared to be ripped off if the machine jams. My son inserted $10 into the machine, and it jammed, but the manager said that there was no reader installed, so he needed to pay more money for gas. While on the phone w/my son (after the frist $10 jammed), he told me that the pump said to "see cashier," and that it wouldn't pump gas. He was pretty annoyed and I heard him tell a guy (who was the assistant manager, Stephen, and was outside smoking) that the pump wouldn't pump. The guy finally said (I could hear him over the phone), "OK, you can go ahead and pump." The manager, Dan, said that we could call back in the morning, to inquire about the money. When I called this morning, Stephen, that assistant manager (mentioned in the first paragraph) told me that there was no extra money in the machine. BIG surprise. This Arco is cheap. So cheap that an employee stole my $5. It got jammed in the machine to pay for your gas outside and I told the attendant as the machine said to do. He made up some story about how none of the employees have access to the machine. How is that even possible?? And then he made me put down my information to get my money back another day, without even allowing me to put my $5 I had just put in a machine onto my pump. Then a line forms. Then the cashier tells the dirty waste of space what he won and he fumbles his words as the Four Loco he just shoved down his gullet starts to wreak havoc on his brain.
