I'll start with what's good, cause it's a short list: - Saxby's: fantastic. Never had a bad experience. - the fruit vendor: decent, never had an issue. - the pretzel people: pretty good if you get it fresh That's pretty much it. Any of the vendors that have meats and stuff behind glass are about the same experience as getting an entree from Acme. I haven't had the sushi, but there's another area in the middle with Chinese food that is borderline inedible and insanely overpriced. You could almost argue this is not a farmers market. I usually just stop at the Saxby's then go to Trader Joe's for anything else. read more

I'm embarrassed to say that I've lived in the area for over 20 years and had never been to the farmers market. I just assumed it was a little fruit and vegetable place and never went in. It took me moving to the south to finally go in here when I was back up north for a visit! Wow! I'm so sorry I never went in here when I lived here. This market has it all! So much variety. There's an Amish stand that sells all kinds of goodies including homemade pretzels. Across from that is a place selling Chinese fare that you can buy by container or weight. There's also Italian food, cheeses, desserts, so much stuff I can't even remember! On this visit I just had to get the tomato pie, delicious! Well worth the visit. Cute indoor farmer's market located in the same shopping area where Trader Joe's is, I don't know how competitive they are with each other. Came here as a tourist to buy shoofly pie before heading to the airport after visiting a friend in Wynnwood. The Japanese place had decent sushi that my son had and the Miso soup was good! Di Bruno Bros, I ordered honey turkey sandwich hot and came out cold. They way they packed the sandwich is so hard to eat because every time you take a bite the sandwich is falling a part. Flavor 1 star, service 2 stars. The bakery close to the entrance is nice, the girl was friendly. read more

I've been coming to Ardmore farmers market since 2008, I've tried everything there... I love it all, especially the smoothies that are made up and you can pick whatever kind of fruit or vegetables you want in that smoothie at the Asian market in the farmers market... I love the chicken all different kinds of chicken meat all different kinds away from Lancaster in the farmers market... I love the sushi... The owner who makes it is a nice guy... I can tell you there's nothing in there they haven't had that wasn't pretty good and tasty. I recommend this place... Come on down to try it! read more

Back in the day Ardmore Farmers Market used to be a mini Reading Terminal; providing plenty of Amish grocers, and specialty markets like By George and Downtown Cheese. But most recently it sacrificed variety in favor of offering up more of the same. While one side of the market is dominated by DiBruno Bros. (which is good for you if you like them, but I have my reasons for otherwise), the other side is largely prevailed by another specialty market. And unless you're idea of variety is a Saxby's, you won't find a whole lot of it in between both spots. Of course this isn't to say that you still won't find some good market buys and specialty items. Just that if you're looking for more of an eclectic experience you're better off with a trip to the Terminal or Garces Trading Company. read more

I love this place! I've been here a few times now and aim impressed each time. You go in for lunch (so many options ranging from healthy choices to greasy, delicious Chinese food) and pick up dinner and treats. What more could you ask for? Everyone working each vendor has been so pleasant and helpful. It's cramped and the parking is nuts but it's worth it for such convenience. I also like the set up of the market because it isn't totally overwhelming like Reading (I still love Reading, too). Definitely stop here if you're in the area! read more

My husband and I came here on Saturday and I have to say that the younger white guy who was wearing a bunch of Irish attire and working at Stolzfus Meats was the nicest guy ever! So was the girl who worked at Saxby's... Anyway, we come here for local, organically raised, fresh meats. The prices are more than reasonable: three giant split chicken breasts, over a lb. of ground beef, .75 lbs. of meatloaf mix, two steak skewers, and a bunch of pork chops cost $35.00. Some things are expensive, of course, but the people that work here are generally very nice, and that's worth something, right? Parking is a bitch, though. read more

This place has a little bit of everything. I love the Di Bruno Bros has expanded. They have all the best cheeses and cured meats not to mention some jams and spreads. The meat counters always have an plethora of sausages and bratwursts from the exotic to the mundane. The fish counter is always willing to filet any whole fish you buy right for you. They are also happy to give you packed ice so bring a cooler to keep your fish in peak condition until you get home to cook it. Be prepared to pay for quality. read more

Parking can be a little tough but if you are willing to walk a bit there are plenty of options. Despite some of the reviews here, I found the prices to be fairly reasonable and in some cases like Lulu's, the juice stand and the cheese place, better quality and prices than any place I have encountered. The quality of meats were good as well and I bought some well marbled short ribs for $3.99/lb. Chorizo bread from Lulu's was awesome and they carry D'Artgnan products. read more

On of the things that I really look forward to when I visit my sister in Philly! It is a gem! This year I went with my pregnant wife and 9 y/o nephew. The variety really makes it a one-stop-shop! Here is all that we enjoyed. A pumpkin-raisin muffin from the bakery. Lemongrass chicken breast from the Asian store. Wife and nephew had noddles and dumpling skewer. I had a Mexican Mocha from Saxby's, selfish and not too sweet! We picked up gourmet cupcakes for a birthday party. They also have a: Seafood stand Butcher Deli Pizza Produce Bread stand (not part of the Bakery I mentioned earlier) Tea Pasta store Gourmet Cheese But I leave the best for last - Amish Pretzels and Piggies in a Blanket. I wouldn't call it a "Farmers Market", but a well rounded variety of what you need. If you are looking to round out you shopping list, Trader Joe's is next door! Husbae and I were impressed with all the vendors at the market. We were just in the area and I didn't want to pass it up by not taking a peek inside. I'm happy I did, I found a few things at great prices, some rare finds, and each vendor had such a good selection of items. I left with some cut up fruit, a bag of shishito peppers, a wedge of cheese and some cookies. I totally regret going grocery shopping the day prior. It is smaller than I expected for a farmers market but the variety of what is carried there is great. I will def be back, some of the prepared foods looked amazing esp for a quick lunch! read more

Auntie Anne's - Your girlfriend is late this month. Bryn Mawr Farmers Market - You've just killed a man in self defense, but you've been set up. Your family and friends have abandoned you. FBI, Interpol, and the mafia want you dead. Also, the person who set you up is a scary ghost!(and your girlfriend is late this month). I love this place for three reasons: 1) Great Harvest Bread... Seriously.. stop it with your deliciousness. 2) THE CHEESE COUNTER: This is my mecca. My home away from home. Coolest people ever who will take their time with you to let you taste anything and everything, AND make recommendations according to what you tell them you already like. The olive bar there is unreal, as well. In fact, it's where I had my first caper berry! 3) The Fish Place: I've had some seriously delicious sushi-grade tuna from there, as well as delicious orange roughy, shrimp, etc. The only reasons they're not a 5 are.... The prices (hefty), the lack of real farmers (I stole this from someone else's review, but it's so true... I see no sign of legit farmers), and the main line snobbberyyyyyyyyyy. The produce stand is the WORST with the snoots.. I'm like... I get that you have more money than I do, but.. you still have to wait in line just like I do And I would really bet that like every other kid's name at that place is like Madison or Cole or Parker or something. I feel like I can't say much about the Ardmore Farmer's Market because I have maybe gone in there once. They are never opened when I go...and I'm talking about 2 pm in the afternoon on Mondays. Nevermind, I don't think they're opened on Mondays at all. Sketch times. I like that Great Harvest Bread is there though. I love the soy wheat bread they have. This has nothing on Reading where they chop up whole lambs and stuff. Actually, that's kinda scary. Ew. Ah. Sorry I mentioned that. I know the Amish peeps have a place here, there is a ready made food place that has pizza and what not, um, veggies are pretty OK. I've really only bought some lame lettuce like romaine there. I don't know, I don't think it should be called a "farmer's market." Last time I checked "farmer's market" meant an awesome selection of fresh produce. I absolutely love this market. The abundance of king crab legs, prosciutto, pizzelles, and espresso made my rainy day a lot brighter. If you are looking for a quick, inexpensive bite, grab a half chicken caesar hoagie at the deli/prepared foods counter next to the Ultimate Bake Shoppe. It's delicious, huge, packed with chicken, and only ~$7. Saxby's also has about 18 different flavored syrups, many of which are sugar free. Love it! read more

A little bit of everything - fresh and in one place! There's a nice little veggie stand with a bit of your common vegetables (not everything you might need, but enough for a quick stop). There is a great Chinese restaurant where we got take out for lunch. The selection of deserts is amazing - and very tempting. The cheese stand has anything you could ever want! The wine shop, coffee show, deli, fresh meat and Italian stand are also worth a stop. We used to go here after leaving Trader Joe's which is awesome - but doesn't have much of a produce selection - and I miss having it close by. read more

I eat lunch every Wednesday at the Ardmore Farmer's market. My favorite stands are Sushi Sei (where the staff is very friendly) and the the Amish bakery where the staff really dress up in Amish costumes! They make awesome donuts. I also love the bread from Great Harvest. The atmosphere at this Farmer's Market is great, not too crowded though you do have to look out for the occasional too loud cell phone yapper. Very kid friendly place too, as there is lots of variety to choose from. The newly added Di Bruno brothers makes me feel sad for all the other little vendors. I try to continue to patronize the small guys, though Di Bruno is hard to resist with its cheese and chocolate sampling. I have to say, I don't understand the stuffed animal vendor in the corner, between Saxby's and the cupcake place. They sell items like life sized tigers and enormous bears that sit on chairs. When I think 'farmer's market' I don't think large stuffed animals. The placement seems odd. Slightly on the expensive side...but hey, you're in Suburban Square so shouldn't expect to find any bargains here. If I didn't have to work during the day I'd probably spend more time sitting around here drinking coffee. read more

VERY overpriced! There isn't much to Ardmore so here's an over priced Farmers Market to add to the limited attractions in the area. Though I enjoyed the Mediterranean place whose prices were not so bad, DiBruno's are ridiculous. $18.99 for a 3-4oz. piece of Branzino is appalling! Though it's served with a pasta salad that alone goes for $11.99... per serving NOT lb. There is no substituting or price adjustment for gluten intolerant individuals such as myself. The asparagus I was served was mostly overbooked and charred, caprese salad was so inundated with olives that's all you could taste. Otherwise the price for honey and seafood alone would make you wonder who can truly afford to shop there. Though they offer a few different items at the produce stand, it's still not worth the trip outside the city. With Trader Joe's right next door, I wouldn't bother going to this market again... other than Taboulis. read more

The Farmer's Market has become a treat for my children. Not because the food is so incredible, the choices staggering or the flavors robust. Not even close. It's just really, really expensive. And the girls like the sushi stand so much that I had to make it equivalent to something phenomenal, like "Today it rained cats and dogs! Let's go to the farmers market!" It's a nice bright, well trafficked place with lots of Amish selling farm fresh eggs, shiny apples and pure butter baked goods. There's various dead animal products- meat, chicken , fish. A flower stand with a very bored and sneezing counter person ("Ummm, do you have any tissues? I ran out.") a deli, prepared food, and some sort platterware and scarves kisok. Right. I like the Asian food counter - five kinds of tofu, organic seasoned brown rice, low mein, sesame chicken, shrip rolls with dipping sauce. Fresh and yummy. A good part of the market is empty.
