We dropped off our two dogs at 530 pm on a…read moreFriday right before they closed for the day and picked up the dogs the next morning at 8 am as soon as they reopened for pick ups. We did not book to drop them off earlier not to pick them up later on the Saturday-- I'm fact on Saturday you can only pick up between 8-10 am. The two dogs were also in the same kennel run. At pick up, They tried to charge us for 2 full days for the 2 dogs!! They were only fed that night not the next morning before we arrived let alone anything else done for them. For literally an overnight stay they tried to charge us for 2 days!! Why you ask?? They said because other dogs owner might want to use the dog run our dogs were in!! Yet they were closed the whole time our dogs were there!! No drop offs possible!! the next morning waiting we waited for someone to arrive to reopen so we could collect our dogs. No one else was there! They literally tried to rip us off and when we questioned them they said their "policy" said this but this is not what is on their website and they the owner said there was no policy and then the owners tried to come up with every possible reason which all made no sense! The owners kept contradicting themselves when saying as to why they were trying to charging us for two nights-- for 2 dogs yeah of course. But for two nights! And they did not even feed my dogs in the morning!! They said they did not want to get ripped off!!! Seriously?!!! Who was actually getting ripped off-- I was! I have had dogs all my life and have been an Ontario and Quebec coordinator for rescuing dogs and have had to use too many kennel services to count and have never encountered this ever! At the end of the day, we paid what was just- for 2 dogs for 1 day (which was literally just an overnight) Do not let this kennel take advantage of you and rip you off! Do not go there! It is all about the $$, doing the least possible and trying to rip dog owners off. To make it worse, after just an overnight stay, our our dogs stank!! I have had them in a lot of kennels and have not had a stink which leaves questionable cleaning between dogs in the same run. Even after a week in other kennels we have never had stinky dogs! Read on My wife got everything done by email for are 2 dogs to stay here. The morning of are trip she email the dogs medical info and asked if there was anything we needed to bring or need to know before we go. We were told no and they would see us later. Being are first time there we showed up around 2 not knowing there are special drop off times. The owner was rude from the start and wanted us to pay $31.00 to drop off the dogs early and that we should no this as it's on the email. I started to asked my wife to take a look at the emails and the owner didn't let me finish my conversation with my wife when she went nuts screaming at us and getting in our face. I keep asking if I could finish my conversation but she keep freaking out saying no and telling us to pay the $31 or get out of her property. If she would have let me finish I would have said if it's on the email i have no issues paying it. We ended up leaving as her verbal harassment was to much. We later check all email correspondence and the only thing is a small signature block with the time they are open. There was nothing in regards to a early drop off fee or a fee if you show up at a deferent time. When then went to Hwy 7 pet retreat unannounced. It was not a drop off time but they were very helpful and kind and had room for our dogs. Since it was our first time there they took the time with a smile to explain how it works there. Oh ya no extra charge. One must not forget that this is a service oriented business that should be handled with poise and a smile. Thank you for reading this review.
