Charged for shoes that he didn't put on my horse. Said he would give them to me but never did. Also very difficult to work with. Talks a lot and sits on his stool. Very nervous of horses. read more

Arean has been the most knowledgeable and wonderful farrier to my herd this past year. My herd ranges from 7-10 horses of all ages and training levels. A lot of those horses being geriatric and needing special accommodation, or young horses with less than desirable quirks. Arean has been extremely professional and kind to every horse in my care, even taking the time to aid with owner education. Arean has had the opportunity to work very closely with some of my vets to address medical issues with couple of my horses that have hindered their training, and he has been so understanding, compassionate and lovely to work with, always keeping my horses health and comfort his number one priority. Absolutely the most unprofessional person ever. I strongly advise anyone looking for farrier service to avoid him at all costs. His work is average, nothing special, and he will start out nice to give you a sense of acceptance, but it is short lived. He became unhinged and yelled at my 12 year old daughter so bad that she started crying which turned into bawling all because our horse would turn his head and nuzzle / sniff the back of his head while having his front hooves trimmed. Nothing out of the norm like every horse does. Showing some affection to the farrier. YELLED AT A CUSTOMERS 12 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER!! Look at his FB page and the 2nd picture he shows a horse with it's head nuzzling on the back of his head! But yet if your horse does it, he will freak out. The session 6 weeks or so before that, he was incredibly rude to my daughters grandparents also while trimming the hooves, grabbed the horses halter and told him to not move his head, then snapped at the grandad about the same thing. It seems like he is actually scared of horses still since he is fairly new to the professional farrier world. Fear leads to anger as they say. I think he has anger issues. Anytime the horse moves his foot and twitches, he jumps back away, even when nothing is happening. Look at his Facebook page and read his posts... they are all about how the customer is always the problem and they don't know how to handle a horse and never the farriers fault. After the session I told him to never speak to my daughter like that again, and he told me to never call him back. He had zero concern or remorse for yelling at a customer and my 12 year old daughter. I've overpaid and tipped well every session with him too, which I now see was a mistake. Our hose is a big baby too, will pretty much let you do whatever to his feet. He shouldn't be allowed anywhere near a horse or customers. read more
