    Ariel Restaurant in Krakow, Poland.
    Miami's Veggie Lover R.

I would have loved to rate this restaurant, but unfortunately after sitting for 30 minutes and watching the locals and European get served, we just left. I was really looking forward to eat on the Jewish district being Jewish myself, but I wasn't that lucky.

I haven't eaten at another Jewish restaurant so I have no comparison except to other restaurants I've eaten at and I am a foodie so there have been a lot. Our Uber driver suggested Ariel, we had no idea what to expect. The waiter was so nice and seated us right away. He told us Ariel is the oldest Jewish restaurant in the ghetto area. The table decorations were so pretty and I noticed quite a few local Jews were dining here so I figured it must be ok. I ordered the beef with vegetables soup that is made with honey & cinnamon - the flavor was so delicious!! My friend got the matza ball soup, I tried it and found it to be bland. I ordered the lamb with vegetables and my friend got the chicken stuffed liver in goose neck. Both dishes were very well made. My friend tried the apple crepes and I tried the apple cake, both were very good! I don't know if this is a touristy place or not but I enjoyed my meal. The decorations were so cute! The waiter was very personable until the end as he slowed down once it got busy. We tried an Israel wine that was pretty good.

I was hoping to have authentic Jewish food while in Krakow's Jewish Quarter. The food was only okay--certainly not worth the high price. I also question it's authenticity. I've had much better matzo ball soup, potato pancakes, and charoset before.

    Golomeki. Yum!

This place is really good. We went to Auschwitz today and decided to keep the theme going by heading Karzimierz. We found this gem of a restaurant. We sat outside under the umbrellas. We were immediately greeted by a friendly waiter. We ordered golumpki (stuffed cabbage), salads and potato pancakes.. and of course beer. Meal was great. For everyrhing it was 110pln. Pretty good price.

It occupies a former synagogue in the hip Kazimierz (Jewish Quarter) section of a city balancing ancient architecture, tragic history, and redemption. It's not the airy tourists traps of the main square and the menu ain't an American coffee shop. Go here at least when tuckered by the long cobblestone night walks for beer and fries and the gizzards if needing that fix. Absorb the hip vibe, and get another cold beer and wine.

We kinda just came for drinks and a app. I suggest making reservations as this place is busy!! Luckily we got seated pretty much after we got there as we had a reservation. They have some outdoor seating but lots inside. Cool, noisy vibe . This is one of the places your told to go when looking up bars and restaurants in Krakow. So maybe a but touristy too. Our group had a G&T, Prosecco , French 75 and a Negroni. All made well but did take awhile to come out. We also ordered some carbs ! Fries and their traditional mushroom Zapikanki, which translates to mushroom casserole. Even though it comes on bread! This is delicious ! Creamy buttery mushrooms with cheese and greens in top. Yum. Nice thick cut fries too. Glad we checked this place out. It was a little loud and the device a little slow. Definitely a happening place though !

I would say Poland definitely is and has a world class soup culture, they take soups very seriously there. The mushroom soup I had was like no other I've ever had anywhere absolutely phenomenal!! Almost every restaurant we visited had 3 to 4 soups on the menu. Kuchnia u Doroty specializes in Soups, Schnitzels, Bigos, Roast Pork, Perogies, Pickled Herring and more. Service is excellent and the ambiance holds a wonderful cozy surprise especially when dining downstairs. By all means hit this place up, you won't be disappointed.

The staff are all very friendly and professional and have in depth knowledge of the menu. This was particularly helpful when trying to understand some of the menu that I was unfamiliar with. We ended up ordering one order of their meat pierogis and one order of their cheese and potato pierogis. They gave a portion of 10 pierogis and they were very filling. We also got their żurek and barszcz soups and all were super flavorful and light. Overall this place is a solid spot and I would come back.
