This is the Treat Yo'self to end all Treat Yo'selves. As a major non-girly-girl, getting fitted for a bra is the most dreaded and anxiety filled experience ever. But Aristelle really shines with their kind sales folks. I just came in here needing to be measured because I had absolutely no idea what size I am. You don't need a res- you can walk right in, and they have a few dressing rooms in the back they lead you to. Megan helped me- and I was nervous and embarrassed, but she put me at ease totally. She told me she has been doing these fittings for ten years, so nothing was weird to her! We tried a few different sizes and bras, and I asked if we could possibly go up one size from what she'd measured- which I know sounds rude- but it ended up actually working super well and I went with this one! It's PRICEY. This lil bra was $131. BUT- I do think you pay for the experience too. Megan was professional, didn't feel "fake customer service nice" to me, and I really appreciated that she let me try a size up from initial measurements. Check out is a little awkward when you don't know if you're totally done with your sales girl or not- I walked out and went to the register and was like, should I be connecting with Megan instead? lol- but I think this awkwardness is simply due to my lack of experience with shopping for fancyass personal items such as this. They wrap your bra in tissue and give you a little care card, and it's all very classy, so you don't feel AS bad dropping such mega cash. It's a once every few years splurge, for sure. But I'm so glad Portland has this option. Being able to be measured in a comforting, relaxing, nonjudgmental environment really makes for a positive and fancy TREAT YOSELF. read more

I kind of fail at being a girl: I don't know how to do my hair, my entire make-up kit consists of black mascara, I look like a baby giraffe when I attempt to wear heels, I was convinced thongs gave you anal cancer until I was in my late twenties (thanks mom for those emotional scars), and I've been wearing the same bra for the past ten years. No, seriously. I thought I was a certain bra size. I bought a bunch of bras from a massive department store about a decade ago and haven't really thought about replacing them until recently when I realized that - if I was being honest with myself - they didn't really fit right. A little too much puckering here, a little too much spilling out there... the idea of getting fit for a proper fitting brasserie was too much, though, and so I just didn't bother. Until recently because #selfcare is beautiful. I sucked up the courage one Friday afternoon and went to Aristelle (such a beautiful store, by the way!) where immediately upon entering I announced to the two people on staff that I didn't know how to be a woman in this region (*motioned to chest*) and could someone help me? I was brought to the changing room, asked to leave my tank top on (NO, you don't have to get naked!), was measured, and was given several properly fitting bras (I was actually WAY off from the size I thought I was - who knew? I didn't!) to try on right away. It was the most unexpectedly pleasant experience I've had in a long time. Megan was patient with me, friendly, engaging, comforting, comfortable to be around (she helped me with my clasps and straps and I swear I never looked or felt that good in a bra in my entire life), flattering in the most sincere way possible, brutally honest about other things in the most loving way possible, and truly listened to what I wanted and didn't want while still making awesome suggestions (not only did I get the world's most boring nude colored bra, but I also got this lacy blue 1920's-esque number that's both supportive AND sexy). So, ladies, let me tell you a couple things: 1. You are probably not wearing the correct size. Don't you wanna be? 2. Revelation: you're supposed to clasp your bra on the first set of clasps. As the bra stretches out, you move in a row. When you're on the last row, it's probably time for a new bra. Mind. Blown. Admittedly, I dropped an insane amount of money here. I typically have a hard time shopping for bras. Despite our culture's obsession with busty ladies, it somehow seems that a lot of undergarments are just not made for us. To top it off, a lot of bra manufacturers think lace is more important than support for reasons that are not at all clear to me. I had been going to Boston to buy bras because I can't get anything off the rack and even at Lady Grace it was challenging to find anything in my size. Enter Aristelle. I came in and asked for help after the last time my weight changed. The woman working was very friendly and helpful, and she was responsive to my desire for maximum support and minimum looking like a crazy birthday cake. She found me something I was comfortable with that worked for my body type and the whole interaction was easy and pleasant. My personal preferences aside, if you're looking for something lacy or pretty, they have a good selection. Their stock is pricey, but a good bra is like a good pair of shoes - you're paying for quality, and you will get it. Extra shout out for being good with women who are not typically feminine and obviously not heterosexual, I know this can be a hard experience for me and for other people and finding friendly spots makes all the difference. read more

I wandered into Aristelle on a whim, a week after having a breast lift. I needed a wireless bra, with support, that was going to be breathable and comfortable enough to wear 24/7 ( I get to take it off to bathe and launder it ) for the next 6 weeks. I was a bit uncomfortable with my situation when I went in but Meg was wonderful and made me feel very welcome and normal. She suggested several bras, helped me out in the dressing room and really attended to me. The best part was that she didn't seem bothered by the drain still in me ( it's pretty gross) and once I found something I liked, she clipped the tag and let me go through the time consuming process of taking off my compression garment to put on my new, amazingly comfortable bra, to wear out of the store. I can't recommend this store enough. They have a great selection and have ( at least one) the most wonderful staff I've experienced in a long time. read more

This place is fantastic. I was a little hesitant when i walked in because they don't have the biggest selection, but the staff were wonderful and we found some great bras that fit me perfectly. I had an absolutely lovely experience today at this lingerie shop. I came in after weeks of wanting a lacy, sheer black bralette with no structure. As a gal who discovered via bra fitting that I am now an E cup, Meg gently ushered me into an underwired bra that knocked me right out. She found a gorgeous garter belt to match, and I got the matching underwear. She took my direction, my price range, and my body all into consideration and helped me find the right ensemble. Even after I left, since she had my email address, she emailed me quickly to alert me that I had left my sunglasses. I came into Aristelle for a fitting and had a wonderful experience. Sherry (sp?) was so helpful and put me totally at ease, while listening to my preferences on types of bra material, what type of garment I was looking for, and fit. The prices here are a little more than Victoria's Secret etc, but I found it totally worth it for the quality and the one-on-one service. They have a great selection of lacy lingerie (of course) but also of t-shirt, convertible, and everyday bras. But I had originally come in looking for a longline to wear under my wedding dress, and unfortunately they only have a couple of those and there weren't any in my size - that would be my only criticism (and what keeps me from giving a full five stars). I had such a wonderful experience shopping at Aristelle. I was shopping at department stores and shops like Victoria Secret and was frustrated by the ridiculous sizing and issues with quality. I decided it was time for an upgrade and it was a great decision. The woman who was helping me was kind and efficient and made me feel very relaxed and comfortable. I ended up having a lovely experience at Aristelle and found some great bras, but boy, I had to work hard at it... I walked in on a quiet Saturday morning, after a snow storm. I was turned away because there were customers in the dressing rooms -- there are only two of them. I had other things to do in town, so I returned about an hour later. Still too busy. So the third time was the charm after waiting around for another 20 minutes to be served. I understand that every customer should have the full experience and plenty of time to try on bras. But I don't foresee great things for this store if it can't handle more than two customers at a time. As a busty woman, I'm used to having little to no selection when it comes to shopping for bras. Walking into this store was a wonderful change for me. With staff who are friendly without being pushy, and a wide selection of bras that fit me, I was very happy to have come across this store. I'm 20 years old, and I'm very used to seeing most of the bras in my size looking like something that my grandmother would wear, but when I left this store, I left with three bras that fit me comfortably, and were also very pretty.
