They have a strong focus on and commitment to their curriculum, even among their youngest students, and they share their curriculum for each respective class with parents of enrolled students. Enrolled children spend ample time outside and teachers make use of nearby trails, even in colder weather. The school provides opportunities for parents to engage and get involved and they are open to feedback and ideas. We've been impressed with many of the teachers and have watched how our children have grown and evolved under their care.

On the first day when we took her to daycare, we were lead to the room where our daughter would be for the day. There was one woman in the room who did not introduce herself or greet our daughter. She was holding an upset child with a runny nose and after we asked several questions (as no information about the day was forthcoming), she said, "I've never been in this room before, I don't really know what I'm doing". This filled us with confidence! This person should never have been hired and we took her out of daycare and got a babysitter with Park City Sitters instead. This cost double the amount, but we had a competent sitter and knew that our daughter would be happy and well looked after. I strongly do not recommend the Deer Valley Resort Children's Center. When we walked into the room on the first day, we should have been greeted by the daycare person who should have introduced herself and then got down onto our daughters level to say hello. It was an absolutely appalling experience.

I am sad to say our experience was not great and we most likely won't be returning. Firstly, I will say, as an annual visitor to deer valley we had very high expectations. Maybe that was one of the issues. The facility itself is average at best. Has a decent indoor playground that the kids get to use at different times according to their age groups. But if they aren't there, they are potentially 20+ kids in tiny rooms with no windows and a small selection of toys. At no point do they even SEE outside. In my opinion they pack the schedule, bathroom, snack, craft, music, circle time, open play, "playground", "rest" (where they put them in cots and throw on a movie for 2 hrs). Obviously the kids have trouble with transition because everything happens for about 10min each. Ok. On to the staff. I'm also so sorry to say I was sorely unimpressed with almost everyone who worked here. NOONE took the time to even walk me through the facility, the first day when I stopped by midday and my daughter ran to me hysterically crying I decided I needed them to walk me through exactly what happens. When I asked this no one addressed it for about 20min until I basically forced a 20yr old to show me. Everyone "in charge" had a TERRIBLE attitude. The woman in the 19mo old room literally did not crack a smile the entire time I was there for drop off or pick up. And then as soon as I picked up my son, said it was too loud and she closed the door and locked it. Basically everyone seemed really overwhelmed and in a rush, the environment was hectic and impatient, and neither of my kids came out very happy. Disappointing.
