However, it helps with the process when the staff are kind and willing to assist in the manner they are able. Most clerks/customer service employees here cannot answer certain questions or provide advise that may teeter into "legal advice territory" which is completely understandable when they're not practicing attorneys and are to remain neutral in the cases. However, they can answer some questions and especially if one is careful in how the question is framed. I have been to this court a few times, it feels lighter than the ones down town (for obvious (to me) reasons), I don't mind coming up here when I have to and when I do, I leave feeling a little more at ease than when I first arrived. Today, the same was true. Be patient, be kind, and remember these are our public service workers and they do their very best, I believe.

The accommodations were really nice without going into too much detail. But if you get summoned bring a tablet or laptop there's food near by so even after being there all day I was honestly content being there.

I'm not familiar with the area but in getting in after the security check/metal detectors, you simply go left where all the other people are sitting (like they were waiting for their flights to depart) because it looks exactly like an airport. Once you enter the room, you'll have to sign in on their portable computer thingy, ah kiosk is what I was looking for, with your Jury ID # and last name. There will be people/workers to help you in the process. The rest is just the waiting game. I was here 15 mins before 9am and then didn't announce anything till 30mins after. You will be shown a video of what to expect and where everything is (cafe, restroom) which I totally forgot where those two are. And then one of them will call you by a number 1-60 and by your last name and first initial of first name, then you will head to the back of the room where an assistant will hand you a paper with your number and QR code which you'll scan to fill out the questionaire. If you don't have a tablet they will provide you one. If you don't remember the number, like I totally did, then say your last name because it should match with it. Then you wait some more. Was told that by 1:30pm that they will decide whether some of us go to the courtroom while the other goes home, based on what you said on the questionaire. There are no wrong or right answers but def they were some questions repeated a couple times just worded differently The people here are super nice and helpful and if you're like me with anxiety of going to unfamiliar places, don't be afraid to ask :) Why 4 stars? Because I don't want to be here. Lol but the place is clean and spacious. Uber was $64 plus tip all the way from QC to Downtown Phx. And in going back- Uber was $70. Love it. Sarcastically speaking. I will not offer that praise to the very bitter lady at the check-in point. My take away? She either REALLY loves her job, or she REALLY loathes it, but the overall feel she gives is one of control and power. By the time I am through, figuring out the difference between up the escalator and over the bridge or up the elevator is a challenge, every time. When it's up the escalator its frustrating because the line to check in can be long, even if there happen to be two people assisting the process. Get there 15 minutes early, there is no guarantee you'll be in the courtoom on time. This last time, I was confused (as usual) as to where we were supposed to go, jumping ahead to ask a simple question to the check-in persons (up the escalator) seemed like it may ruffle some feathers. So, instead, I saw a man with a badge and a large item he was pushing and was able to ask where the location was and he was incredibly helpful informing me I had to go back over the bridge and take the elevator. I personally feel the process is designed to suck, so that no one ever wants to go through it again. Unfortunately, every now and again folks have valuable and important lessons to learn in their journey and must experience this grueling process. I will admit, in my lifetime, I have also utilized the services of the law library here and it was incredible at the time I needed it. They have everything you'd need for research purposes, although keep in mind they aren't allowed to offer any semblance of legal advice and therefore questions must be asked carefully. They also have a place to submit court forms on computers since they seem to have changed their processes 5o be more electronic... anyway, I could give another star, now that I think about it.... but, no one ever wants to be at court... so I will keep with my 2 star rating for that reason... parking sucks too, unless you get lucky to find a meter and are out within the time on it.

I went to the cashier on Monday, the process was seamless and they were very kind. Today was a different matter, hoping to obtain court documents. Though they were not able to help me with my specific issue, they again were kind and helpful. Even security, just doing their job, knuckleheads forgetting things in their pocket or my screwdriver key chain. He was kind, explained and made it painless. I always caveat, I hope to never have to visit these establishments for my own purposes but if I ever did, I hope it is an experience like the two I had at Tempe City Hall Courthouse.

Clorox wipes were by public computers and hand sanitizer stations were easily accessible. Brian help us. He was super friendly and very helpful. We also visited the law library, which was very clean and all of the employees there were very friendly. After one person finished using the printer area an employee went over and wiped everything down and made sure everything was neat and organized. Overall, we had a great experience. Prescott Justice Court REVIEW: Prescott Justice Court --…read moreJudicial Officer David Parker Case: Small Claims Hearing, March 13, 2026 (1 out of 5 stars) I appeared in Prescott Justice Court on March 13, 2026 for a small claims case involving a clear violation of Arizona's security deposit statute (A.R.S. § 33-1321). I came fully prepared with tabbed exhibits, documented evidence including a USPS postmark proving my landlord mailed my deposit four days past the statutory deadline, and relevant case law including an Arizona Supreme Court decision. The statute is clear: if a landlord returns a deposit late, the tenant is entitled to twice the amount wrongfully withheld. This is mandatory, not discretionary. To the best of my recollection, Judicial Officer David Parker: 1. Stated words to the effect that he "may apply the statute" but "doesn't have to" -- despite the law being mandatory. 2. Excused the landlord's violation of Arizona law by stating words to the effect that the defendant "is old" and that I should "understand she doesn't follow the law all the time" because of her age. Age is not a legal defense. 3. Awarded only $200 when the statute required $2,612.88. 4. Abruptly ended the hearing with words to the effect of "we're done here" when I respectfully pointed out that the statute does not provide exceptions based on age. I presented clear evidence. The law was on my side. The Arizona Supreme Court has ruled on this exact issue. None of it mattered. If you are a tenant seeking justice against a landlord in Prescott Justice Court, be aware that the law may not be applied as written. I have filed a complaint with the Arizona Commission on Judicial Conduct.

The courthouse is the center of Prescott's Town Square and is surrounded by a park-like grass area and huge old trees. There are sculptures and the area is often decorated for the season. Fourth of July and Christmas are some of the most impressive seasonal decorations. Is a great place to walk around on a cool evening.
