Avi Keller overcharged $3,000 for a simple LLC filing and W2 taxes, whereas my previous accountant only charged $350 for the same service. He lured me in with promises of facilitating a home purchase through his filing methods. However, once I made the payment, he became stop answering my phones or messages, and when I was able to reach him with a different number he will say that he's on vacation or promising to call back but never following through. He also filed for an extension without my consent, resulting in a $600 fine from the IRS for late filing, which he brushed off with a casual "don't worry." Later when I asked again, he shifted blame onto me for not preparing taxes, despite never informing me of any prepayment requirements. He remarked that he works for the money when I questioned about his exorbitant fees that I paid, and realizing his mistake he tried changing the subject that he is the best. Additionally, Avi failed to provide me with my year tax filings despite many and many attempts to reach him through calls, whatsapp and email. Furthermore, he suggested I pay an additional $20,000 in taxes through his business to qualify for a mortgage. I'm grateful to consult with a reputable mortgage advisor who assured me I didn't need to pay any more taxes and was already eligible for the mortgage amount I sought. Upon discussing with a friend, I learned that Keller also charged him $450 for a similarly straightforward W2 filing, and he too didn't receive his tax return after many and many requests. Avi is unwilling to answer questions unless he sees a chance to make a significant profit. He literally charges ten times the normal rate, and you need to chase him for any work. I do not recommend Ark Tax Service in the strongest of terms. I had personally been having Noah complete my taxes since 2017 because my previous CPA retired and he was recommended. He is competent and seemed reasonably priced. The issues started in 2021. My wife and I called regarding unemployment due to COVID. Noah's treatment and responses were critical and demeaning and left my wife feeling belittled. As it turned out, her information was correct and Noah was not, this could have cost us approximately $1000 I believe. Well, she vowed to never work directly with him again. I told her that due to legacy, I would handle our taxes with Noah directly. I should have listened to my wife. This year, after patiently waiting for our taxes to be completed, I called for an update. I hadn't spoken to Ark Tax Service in 2 full weeks so when I called for an update I called 3 times in succession because I thought something was wrong with the phone system. When Noah called back he actually, in an extremely rude manner asked why I repeatedly called to which I gave the same explanation as above. Noah then tried to instruct me like I was a child and that he was "extremely busy" like this was a proper reason to treat customers in a disrespectful manner. I thought, okay, move on as I was trying to get an update on the taxes and their status. Well, he continued with his "holier than thou" attitude, he was demeaning, continually interrupted me, spoke over me, all while speaking in his condescending attitude. He finally threatened that they "would not complete our taxes this year" I was astonished and completely taken aback that a service provider would be so disrespectful of a customer. So I decided to take my business elsewhere. When I went to Ark Tax Service, Noah actually told me directly that "we are not a good fit" for business together. I was told that I disrespected his business and time because I called with questions, that I didn't just hand over all of my tax documents and then wait for him to call and provide updates, and that I felt my tax return was more important than the hundreds of other clients he serviced. These are his words, not mine. I felt chastised and nothing like a proper client that hires a tax preparer to assist with their filing of taxes. No, I was "not a good fit" and was a nuisance to him. To add insult to injury, he charged me $75 for my 16 year olds first ever tax return. My son worked one summer job in 2021 and his refund amount was $71 total from fed and state. I believe that his disrespect of me was because I would not move my investment business to him and that the only business with me was taxes. He wasn't making any money off me and therefore I was not worth his time. I will never return to this business and would highly dissuade anyone from doing business with Ark Tax Service. There are a significant amount of other competent CPA's or tax services that will treat people with respect and appreciation for their business to avoid those who don't value their customers. read more

Last year, I decided to look into a tax service to do my taxes instead of utilizing Turbo Tax like a I normally do. Not only was Ark Tax affordable and easy, but they got me so much more money on my tax return!! Ark Tax was able to find things I couldn't find/know about with Turbo Tax.
