Do yourself a favor and buy your ticket online in advance. Tickets are not sold on board. There are also ticket machines on the platforms at the two Arlanda Express stops and at Central Station in Stockholm. Those are the only two stops; there are no stops in between. If you have an issue, I found them to be responsive. The website was confusing with regard to senior fares, so I wrote for clarification, and quickly received an answer. They changed the website to remove the confusion. I purchased a round-trip senior fare ticket online and printed out my ticket, which has a QR code. The train has two stops at the airport, one for terminals 2 and 3, and another stop for everything beyond at the airport. The stop for terminals 2 and 3 are a bit cave-like but stylish. Look up at the electronic board to see when the next train is coming to where you want to go. At Central Station, you can go through the train station, but there's also a separate entrance to the street. This is because the first train to Arlanda Airport is at 4:20 am, when Central Station is closed. This street entrance is open. There's also a lounge to wait in. There are racks in each car for your baggage. The seats are comfortable enough, and it's a short ride. From the airport to town was about 18 minutes, and about 20 minutes back. Staff come around shortly after departure to scan tickets. The man who came by on the way to town asked if I realized it was a special fare ticket. I said I knew, and that I recently turned 65. I was ready to show my passport, but he said that was okay. I thanked him for thinking I was younger. My international flight was at 6:30 am, so I was worried a train arriving at about 4:40 am would be too late, depending on how long the lines were. There was a long line for check-in, but I requested special services, so I was able to go to a dedicated line, and I got through security quickly. But keep in mind if you do have an early flight that the first train from Central Station is at 4:20 am. I experienced no delays but other reviewers have. Also, at the terminal 2 - 3 stop, I needed to use the elevator. The escalators were close by, but unfortunately the elevators were way way at the end of the platform. If you need to use the elevator because it's hard to walk, this doesn't help.
Arlanda Express is a credit to the city of Stockholm. The most efficient way to travel from Arlanda Airport to City Center. The cabin is extremely clean and spacious. Visitors will enjoy WiFi during the entire 18 minute trip. The train cruises at nearly 200KM/Hour, covering the 40KM distance quickly!
Absolutely amazing. Costs about 24 euro one way, cheaper for roundtrip. Worth every penny how simple, efficient and fast it is. Very friendly crew working on this train too. They DO check your tickets, so be sure to pay. If you want to experience 200 km/h in Europe but not pay 200 euro for another train ride, this is the ride. Sure, you can take the bus, metro, commuter train or taxi, but this gets you there in 18 minutes without stress. So fun. One of the highlights of my visit to Stockholm.

You immediately receive your ticket upon payment. Please make sure that you read all the details as ordering for two people will offer you a discount. If you order your tickets individually when traveling with a friend or a group the cost difference is significant. Seats are comfortable and there are luggage storage areas. Tickets can be purchased at kiosks in the airport and train station. At the airport, there was a staffed desk and they answered questions. Excellent/speedy/clean/efficient means of transport to & from Arlanda Airport. 18 minutes. More spendy than non-express transport but you can boast of the high speed train going 200 km/hr or 124 mph! Sweden is very much into recycling and conserving so you can buy your tickets online (we didn't know so we used the machine). The conductors do go around during the trip to check tickets so be sure to have them available!
It takes about 20 minutes to get from the airport to the central train station. It is easy to find - just look for the yellow elevators after baggage claims. The elevators take you down to platform directly. Very convenient but costly too.
After spending a day in Stockholm after our cruise, we were ready to head home. Arlanda is some 35 km. north of city center. While taxi is an option, we thought we'd lower our carbon footprint, save about $50, and take public transportation, which, after careful research, was not only possible but easy: a one-stop transfer to the main train station, where the Express to Arlanda awaits. Talking to the many helpful staff on the platform was a good decision: he pointed out that there's a deep discount for two people riding together, and helped us with the ticket dispenser. He also pointed out that the usual stop where we would otherwise get off for Terminal 5 was closed - we'd have to walk from the one and only stop in Terminal 1 and walk, with a further useful suggestion that we should go to the cars at the FRONT of the train. The airport itself was a veritable zoo - not quite to Schiphol proportions is that frightening video that's gone viral, but bad enough that, not only were we unable to use the lounge, we almost missed our flight despite arriving more than 2 hours before flight time - but that's another story!
First time ever riding this Arlanda Express and yes it is super fast. I think it could be the fastest way to get to the airport actually. It takes only 20 mins to the airport and supposedly this is an environmental train. We road this on the way back and actually we didn't have to pay them money but showed them our Euro Rail pass which we had bought online in USA. But double check it when you do buy your Euro Pass and see if this is valid for the Arlanda Express if you are flying out of the airport. The inside of this train is so nice and very clean. They also have a luggage holder inside so you can leave your luggage and put it away.
A quick and reasonable way to get into Stockholm City in 20 mins. For 280 krona one way it's about half that of a taxi and takes about half the time as well. It's a nice way to travel and buying tickets is fairly simple and painless. You can get to it easily from Arlanda airport and if you are staying at hotels close to the central station then a short walk from the train will get you to your hotel. Definitely using this service again. It's quick convenient and reasonable.

What a nice, safe, clean and easy way to get to Stockholm's Arlanda Airport from the Central Terminal Station. It feels so new, it took 18 minutes and we didn't need to bother with an Uber or taxi. They list the max speed at 200 km/hr (!!!) but we only saw it get as high as 170km/hr on the digital board on the train (which is another cool feature). Still, that's an impressive speed for an AirPort Express train! Loved the cool benches at the airport stations too. Rock on, Sweden! read more
OK, like many these days, I am watching my money. And coming in from the Stockholm airport, especially if you have a monthly pass, it is cheaper to take the bus to Marsta and then the commuter train. But that takes longer and boy was it crowded yesterday. I had already contacted Arlanda Express because I will not be turning on my phone here. Why pay for all those telemarketers to annoy me. I'm older and accessing these QR codes scare me and I wanted to know if I could get a paper ticket. Yes but only here at the machines in Stockholm. Arlanda Express is quick to respond to your questions. This is the only way to go if you are jetlagged because of delayed and cancelled flights. There are 3 stops. Two at the airport and one at Central Station. Your other choice, the commuter train, can and yesterday was, packed like sardines. We couldn't even make it out the door and had to go to the next step and circle back. We are very familiar with Stockholm but you will find, for us non Swedish speakers, that the commuter train announcements and stations are worded slightly different than expected. Plus you have to walk to get it and walk and wait at the train station whereas Arlanda Express is right there AT the airport. It was COLD yesterday. On the return trip, I am spending the extra money for a more predictable trip. 18 minutes from Central Station. There are discounts for 2 or more paying normal price. Cheaper than a cab or ride share. And cheaper than an overnight stay at an airport hotel. But keep in mind that it only goes to Stockholm Central. That is fine if you are staying nearby. But even if you arent, Central Station has all the very good subway lines to transfer to. We were going to Sodermalm and I thought my initial commuter train was smart because once I got on it, it would take me to the part of town that I was staying, cheaper. At 24 hours awake, I have now learned to spend the extra few bucks on the faster less confusing option. read more

First time ever riding this Arlanda Express and yes it is super fast. I think it could be the fastest way to get to the airport actually. Highly recommend this convenient service to and from Arlanda airport. The train runs frequently and quickly between the central station and the airport. The cars have luggage racks and nice seats as well as free WiFi. At the central station they have displays with the arrivals and departures showing which is useful. Price is 540 skr round trip and the ticket kiosks are English friendly and took my chip card without a problem read more

The one and only way to zip back and forth from Arlanda Airport to Central station. Purchase your tickets in the airport and it took less than 20 minutes from the airport at 205 km per hour. The trains are efficient, smooth, and beautiful. There is a reason why I am a big fan of Swedish design. Everything is simple, streamlined, and aerodynamic. I wish the seats in these trains existed in the US. Central Station is the hub for all connections. For a round trip ticket, it was 530 SEK. Oh, wait, that would never happen since slobs mess up Bart and Muni. Perfect ride, wish it was here in the US! read more
Possibly the fastest, most efficient and clean transport ive scene from and airport to a central large city. 20 min service level agreement, with less than a 2min variant no matter if it's their fault or not? That's hardcore. As my friend says, Arlanda Express may even put the Japanese trains to shame which is some tough competition read more

You can take a cab for about 55-75 Dollars (depending on who and what size) or you can take the train. We opted for the train on the way to the city. Easy peasy. These trains are cake walk. Like a train ride should be. Don't let the free Wifi fool you though. Once you get off you won't likely be getting it back until you arrive at your final destination unless you have an international data plan, which can be purchased from your provider for short lengths of time. It seems all trains in the EU are planned, crafted, and utilized as the main form of transport next to bicycles and a good pair of walking shoes. Prices are fair considering the options. Coming back to the States and getting on the LIRR (if an option is even available) I can't shake the feeling of being mugged every time I buy a ticket. There is a high dollar fine if the inspector asks for your ticket and you cannot produce one. UPDATE: We took a cab to the airport to catch our departing flight, and I can now confidently say that the train is the way to go. It seems faster and safer, and is definitely less expensive. read more

Is fast train going from Stockholms centralstation to Arlanda up to 6 times per hour! The trip takes 20 minutes and it's a super quiet and comfortable way of travling, I haven't had any issues with it! You don't have to order in advance you can just go there buy a ticket and it makes travling alot less stressful! The only thing I would say it's that is little pricey but if your under 25 it's only 130sek and they also do special discounts now and then so just keep an eye at the website or download the app! So go now and travel with style and alot less headache! read more

Oh yes! If you intend to travel to Sweden, then this IS THE BEST AND MOST CONVENIENT, ECONOMIC WAY TO TRANSFER FROM ARLANDA AIRPORT TO THE CITY CENTRE!! There are many black cabs just outside of the arrival terminal. However, one of 'em will cost you....675 Kronas=70$ USD to get to the city centre!!! With the express train, it only cost around 200-300 Kronas=22-32$!! They depart every hour during the hours of day time(8:00--23:00) then about 1.5-2 hours night time I think. But it's very convenient with AC and WIFI!! Thank you!! read more

The Arlanda Express takes you from Arlanda Airport directly into the centre of Stockholm in just 20 mins. The tickets aren't cheap but the service is reliable, the train itself is immaculate with a First Class feel to everything, and the staff are friendly and smiling. There's also reliable free WiFi on board. Perfect! Ticket machines for the Arlanda Express can be found all over the airport. Save money and buy a return ticket. read more

Your most comfortable and fastest means of getting from Arlanda Airport to central Stockholm. The trains are clean, modern, have ample leg room and spacious. Only complaint is that it's quite expensive. $40 for two people! But, on the plus side, you're in the city in twenty minutes. If you're not on a budget then I highly recommend using this train. read more
