They also had a couple of small sandwiches to eat. On the other side they had main Chinese food. So overall they had a LOT of options. We chose the northern hot beef, beef tender soup noodles, Singapore rice noodles and a hot chocolate and a slice of apple pie for desert. The hot chocolate and pie arrived immediately and looked absolutely wonderful. As we kept waiting for the main dishes, we couldn't resist and we finished off both. The apple pie was fresh and had that wonderful crisp taste with the right amount of crust and not too much sugar. The hot chocolate was the perfect mixture of frothy milk, milk and chocolate. We had to add a bit more sugar though. We ended up waiting a good 27 minutes for the food to arrive. Now normally this wouldn't be that bad but since we were on a tour, our bus gave us an hour to finish our lunch. It took us about 12+ minutes to find the place leaving us only 20 minutes to eat and no time to look around. This is a tourist area so it would be better if they can manage to get their food out earlier. All of the dishes were absolutely delicious and had great flavor. The staff was very understanding and helped us fuss around trying to get everything ready to take with us. We will definitely recommend this place and go again if we have some more time!!

Outside there is a garden for alfresco dining with their take outs and is dog friendly. We had hearty soup, fish and chips plus the plain scones and fruit scones. A nice little stop on our road trip with shopping thrown in. Point to note, parking is limited street side and only at the one pay as you park car park and it can get pretty busy. The village is still occupied by real people living there so they can get a bit angsty when you park outside their homes so there are plenty of signs warning against parking.

The staff who work in Anderson's are actual bakers who make all the delights they have on offer in the bakery that morning rather than the mass produced, heated up rubbish they often sell in Aulds. I am not a big savory pastry fan but the sausage rolls are so yummy and when I lived in the area I loved popping in for one to munch on while I waited on the bus into university. You have to be really quick though because after around 1/1:30 in the afternoon most of the goodies will be gone! I have to give a special mention to Anderson's utterly divine chocolate cake with chocolate cream filling and chocolate icing. If I had to choose between a night in bed with Brad Pitt circa Meet Joe Black and one of these cakes it would be the cake every time. Sorry Brad! Even though I am now in my 20s my mum still orders me one of these cakes for my birthday every year. How good are mums?

The weather wasn't the best so I found it a little stressful but we found our way there in the end! I think the easiest way to get there is via Paisley/Bridge of Weir but if you like a long drive, you could go via Port Glasgow (ahem). I'd never been to Quarrier's Village before and was keen to get out and explore after lunch but with the rain, didn't have a chance. Quarrier's is like something out of a movie, lots of open, grassy green space and cute houses. It's a really delightful area. Three Sisters Bake is easy to find at the end of Faith Avenue and is one of the most magical cafés I've stepped into in a long time. I was there for the food, but I think the decor won me over just as much. I love the bright colours and attention to detail - this is a real wonderland, the kind of place you only see on wedding blogs and Pinterest. Onto the food. We were there for a long time, so ordered loads of food - the seafood platter to share for starter, and then I had the gourmet cheese on toast. With a heavenly mackerel pate and some seriously juice prawns with chilli and coriander this was a great way to start off a long lunch and made a good size starter between two. There was also some really soft and smooth smoked salmon on the board which I scoffed up while Graeme wasn't looking. The cheese on toast was way more fancy than I'd expected and came with a smothering of rocket - probably one of my favourite green things, so I was well chuffed. There was also leek hiding under the mature cheddar which definitely upped the age limit of this cheese on toast. For desserts we had a look at the cake counter but as I don't have much of a sweet tooth, I initially wasn't fussed. That was until I overheard the waitress delivering coconut and lime tart to the table behind me. I love coconut and lime! I tried to order it but that was actually part of their wedding tasting menu, not a dessert they were serving that day. But the delightful waitress went to check, and got a slice just for me - what a gem! Service was impeccable, friendly and warm and you can tell they all know a lot about the menu and that all the food is freshly prepared. I'm not sure I've managed to do Three Sisters Bake justice, but one thing I do know for sure - if you haven't been, you really need to go!
