The pile of dirt shown in the photo on the right is what was delivered. It was full of clay and completely unusable. The salesman not only refused to replace it with decent quality fill sand (see sand on left side of image obtained elsewhere) but refused to haul it away as well. He laughed at the situation -- and almost caused me to lose my contractor for the job due to the contractor's level of total frustration with Stonescape and their unwillingness to provide proper sand.

As you can see in the pic the new flooring is totally different. Mike at Beaver just blames this on "natural stone variation". That's fair but if Beaver had ordered the correct amount of flooring upfront we wouldn't be in this predicament of having two mismatched marbles. Instead of reordering all the marble Mike just expects us to make do with a mismatched bathroom or reorder the marble at our expense.

My contractor had 16' pressure treated deck boards delivered from John's lumber. They really looked…read moresad and they were filled with knots (about 10- 15 knots per board). My contractor specified that we wanted "premium" boards - but the sales guy at John's told him that "premium" was just a marketing gimmick. When I called he gave me the same excuse. When I asked about the #2 & #1 stamps on the boards - he just reiterated his stance. I then called Fingerle Lumber and asked about pressure treated premium boards - they gave me the real scoop and I ordered new boards from Fingerle. They are beautiful, and almost knot free. They are also stamped "premium". We returned the sad boards to John's. Why 2 stars? Maybe the sales guy was just uneducated or new- benefit of the doubt.
