I was here to visit and pay tribute at one specific gravesite but I took the opportunity to walk through much of this beautiful cemetery. Unlike others that are a "lawn" configuration, Arlington is a "park" setting which means lots of trees, rolling hills and plenty of peace. Fredric J. Baur was the designer of the iconic Pringles can and my visit went smoothly. It was easy to find, near the intersection as specified on the Google Maps placemark. There was already Pringles can present but it was a little beat up by the elements. I disposed of that one and replaced it with the one I had bought just a few minutes ago at Kroger. "Original" of course. Yes, Baur stipulated in his well that a portion of his cremated ashes be sealed up in a Pringles tube. When he died, his families followed through on this desire and it's clear that I'm not the only one who is in on it. As a retired Marine, I appreciate Arlington Memorial Gardens dedication to our fallen heroes and veterans. During Memorial Day weekend, Arlington honors all members of our military and raises funds to donate to Operation: Ramp it Up for Veterans. This organization identifies disabled veterans who are experiencing mobility issues in their residences. The Arlington staff then volunteers their time, year round, to install these ramps for our country's veterans. read more

Both my parents and two sisters' final resting place is at Arlington. The services are conducted thoughtfully and with compassion. I returned a few weeks ago after a long absence. (Moved out of state.) I was walking around and around, fruitlessly searching for their gravesites. Jim, an Arlington employee approached me with an offer to help. He was so kind! Due to all the heavy rains, part of my mother's marker was submerged. Jim had it taken care of immediately. He made a very difficult day much easier, and I am so grateful for his kindness. read more

The pre-burial meeting with Arlington for my Mother was done professionally and with respect for our needs and concerns. We have had to have my parents vase replaced a few times because of careless mowing. I have heard this from quite a few other families (my father been there since 1977) When brought to the attention of management, ticket made, and weeks upon weeks for it to be repaired. Also we brought my brothers ashes back to Cincinnati and bought a plot near my parents. It took forever for the grave stone to be put in and even longer for a vase to be placed on the grave. I am sure the well meaning purchasers did not expect this kind of service when putting out good earned money when buying their final resting places. Maybe they need to clean house and start over fresh? read more

I have found this organization to be outstanding. Funerals and all involved is a time when you are barely functioning. I found Arlington to be there though every step. They were thorough, thoughtful, and nothing but professionals at a time of great need. They worked with me through this unexpected event and brought respect and care to my family. It has been a few years and they continue to provide respectful services to remember my loved ones buried there. Dan Applegate and Anne Meyer, both executives at Arlington, are two of the finest people on the planet. I can only speak of the finest care given to me and my family. Arlington Gardens handled my mother's burial arrangements with the up-most respect, care, and love. Immediate after the loss of my mother, my family visited Arlington late on a Saturday and received the support we desperately needed. My parents prepaid for their cremations and funerals many years ago. The past several months, after my dad died in August, have been a nightmare with this organization. We had the cremation and a service in August (I had to pay extra for a Saturday). Because my mom broke her ankle a few days before this and needed surgery, we had discussed changing the service because she couldn't attend, but decided it was too late. The date had already been publicized. Well, someone at the office apparently thought we were cancelling it, because they told that to people who called and also tried to stop some flower deliveries that showed up. I can reluctantly chalk this up to a misunderstanding, but that would be a reach. It was a nightmare at the time. No one ever communicated to me any apology or contacted me at all. Luckily, the chapel was available and we had the service. The gentleman who handles the chapel arrangements was amazing and wonderful. A true gem. I guess no one told him the service was cancelled. So the ashes were kept at the cemetery while my mom healed and we finally scheduled the interment for Dec. 2. Imagine my horror when we showed up only to be told there was no record of this being scheduled. I totally lost it in the lobby of the admin building and they took me to a back room with my husband. Long story short, a poor gal there rushed to set a few chairs out and a table on the grave with the ashes. No hole dug, no tent, and only a cheap red cloth around the table. There were 15 family members there, several from out of town. Five other grave site services were being held and I guess no one had the time to make it any nicer. It was devastating. My father deserved better than this. Believe it or not, again no manager or executive has contacted me about this in the 7 days since it occurred. No one at all. Please, please be careful if you work with the people here. Check and double check all arrangements. For both occasions, I dealt with the same man, and I will be letting someone there know how we were treated. read more
