My coworkers and I took the CPR and AED class instructed by Heather Smart…read more Heather is very knowledgeable. She prefers to do hands on instruction verses reading booklets and watching videos. The hands on approach is more realistic and gives a better idea of what may happen when CPR and AED skills are needed in an emergency situation. Heather is very passionate about her class and training. After the verbal lesson, we were put into groups of 4 with a dummy to have the hands on experience. The "smart" dummies are equipped with lights to let you know if the compression strength you are using is strong enough. A green light indicates you are doing it correctly. A red or yellow light means you need to use more force. We also used an infant dummy to see the difference between adults and children as the compression strength needed is a lot less and with fingers instead of 2 full hands. It was a little embarrassing to act out a real life situation at first. Not everyone is comfortable acting out a scenario in front of others. As a good instructor should do, Heather was addiment we would not be given a passing grade until she saw each of us perform the series of steps necessary to complete CPA and AED properly. We each took turns and she watched to make sure we did it correctly. After one round, the embarrassment went away and we all started getting into it. I appreciate Heather's approach and dedication to the class. She even got on the floor (see picture) with us to demonstrate the steps herself before turning it over to us. At the end of our 3 hour class, we were given a survey. I gave Heather a 10 (extremely satisfied) on all questions asked. We all left feeling confident and well educated. Hopefully our assistance won't be needed, but should and emergency arise in the future, I am happy we have our certification to help save lives. Our group plans to have Heather back in a few months to take a first aid course.

When I said " I cannot wait because my BLS card is expired" . She said that the "system doesn't work, I will let you know if I can fix it" which was her excuse for being UNPROFESSIONAL . Of course, I immediately looked for another option since I didn't have another day to wait to have this done. I found a really great company around the kingwood-humble area. I requested my money back from Heather and she totally refused to do so. So I ended up paying double for my BLS course. The other company I found was a professional company and I actually enjoyed the training. In fact, I was the only student and they didn't mind teaching me. After taking the BLS course with another company I realized that Smart Safe Development Solutions are no good for learning. btw the place where they hold the training is awful and uncomfortable. I'm not sure what they are expecting but gun ranges are not elegant, fancy or going to cater to your every need and whim. They are normally run by an old grumpy Veteran and w a staff that is normally very direct, stern and short bc they are dealing w life and death.. they can come across as rude, but it's not meant to normally. It's the fact they're often dealing with not smart people, not used to shooting firearms, and are casually holding things that kill people.. not your favorite martini. Keep all that in mind and don't expect them to baby you. First, this IS NOT the best range for first time shooters. Can you do it, sure, ideal- no. Second, I love this little range. It's a small, back of the neighborhood type of place. Only 18 yards or so. It's not fancy and only 5 or 6 lanes.. They expect you to know what you're doing; get in, do your thing, use standard firearm protocol for ranges, then get out. The owner has always been nice to me, as w the staff.

We even dealt with the OWNER, who was the rudest of them all. The second we arrived, they asked where we were from. We brushed it off as small talk, but looking back, it felt like judgment. We were a large bridal party with both experienced and new shooters. Since this is advertised as a TRAINING CENTER, we expected the staff to be welcoming toward beginners, review safety, and provide proper instruction. Especially since we had called ahead, explained it was for a bridal party, and were told they were "excited to have us." No mention was made about experience being an issue. Upon signing the liability waiver, the owner handed me a Ruger magazine (even after we said we were more familiar with Glock). He gave us five seconds to load it (even after we explained we usually use a tool because of our nails) before yanking it back, saying he had "seen enough," and accusing us of lying about our shooting experience. At that point, everyone was uncomfortable and just wanted to leave. When we told them, the owner yelled that he'd be happy to take our money but didn't want us shooting there anyway. As we walked out, he and his staff stood at the window and stared at us until we drove away. Truly, this was the most uncomfortable and unnerving experience I've ever had at a gun range and we are members at multiple ranges in our home state... I highly encourage. You read the one star reviews of people having ricochet bullets hit their hands and they begin bleeding and need to go to the ER and the owners didn't care. Or about the owner screaming at a seven-year-old. Please check the other reviews before coming here!!

This indoor gun range is located on Hwy. 59 N. and I recently visited it to shoot in a USPSA club…read morematch. It's an old range that needs some work done. Inside it's rather small with two separate shooting bays that may have 5 stalls each. In the bay that the match was held in, I noticed many bullet holes in the ceiling showing the outside sky. I would give 3 stars normally for a place like this because it serves its basic purpose. Instead, I give 2 stars because both shooting bays lack any kind of air filtration. That's dangerous. During my 90 minutes shooting there the air was foul with gunpowder smoke and full of lead and other toxic chemicals. It was rough staying there. This is 2022 not 1962 and every indoor range must provide air filtration.

Make sure you get everything in writing, because what is said upfront does not match reality. In many cases, students were assigned YouTube videos instead of receiving hands-on instruction. There were frequent times when the teacher didn't show up, and students were moved between classes due to a lack of supplies. Even more concerning, students were often left unsupervised while instructors stayed in the office on their phones. This is not the level of education or accountability you expect when paying this kind of money. It feels like the school has stopped caring about student success. Don't put yourself into this kind of debt without getting the value you deserve.
