I used to deal with AMA insurance, but I got tired of being treated like a number and facing repeated increases despite never making a claim. I kinda felt like they just took my business for granted and had a "let it ride" attitude. I knew what I wanted from an insurance company/broker. I wanted to feel like they were ACTUALLY shopping around for me for the best deal among reputable insurance companies. I finally felt that I found that when I called ARC and spoke to their representative Tyson Lush. Tyson took a lot of time answering my inane questions. He even arranged for a conference call so that both my wife and I could talk to him without having to visit their office in person. We are both busy professionals, so we really appreciated that. Tyson is a very good listener who takes good notes. Never once did I feel any pressure from him. If anything, he would let me know the best places to look to save money. This is exactly what I was dreaming of! For example, Tyson recommended how we could save a substantial amount of money by splitting off my (newly licensed) daughter into her own policy. This was very counter-intuitive, but he was right! I'm so glad I stumbled across this company. I just hope their success doesn't change their focus on customer experience and satisfaction. I will never go through them again!!! I have tried to just talk with them and either got hung up on, transferred to someone who wasn't even there, voice mail that you can't leave a message and was told they would get back to me and never did. this happened for years trying to get this straightened out. this is an awful company to deal with, my experience anyway.

Great customer service over the phone (especially during daytime hours). Had a claim in 2017 and the TD Insurance Auto Centre was new at that time. Wonderful idea! One stop to meet with an adjustor, vehicle repair, and rental. All in one building, all in one place. An experience that was hassle free, stress free and one of the reasons that keeps me from leaving this insurance company. Though I still think its a good idea to price compare/ service compare for the best value for your money, I think from my own experience it is a good reputable company to be with. However, when I got my first email reminding me that a payment would be due: I asked my agent to come to my home, at her schedule, to review and explain coverage - she would not after inheriting our account when the previous rep left, and basically, doing nothing. I left a review accordingly on their dealer - LINK INSURANCE in Calgary - site to share her unwillingness to meet ~ in other words, do her job. We researched several other insurers and found someone for $1000 less a year or $100 per month. Apparently, their apathy campaign isn't working. It made me apathetic to remain loyal.

A minor not-at-fault collision and I started my claim immediately and deposited the car the next day where it was repaired over a week. Rental car secured and utilized no problem, body damage repaired promptly only to find out that Johnson had not even started the claim thusly not allowing me to get my car back from the body shop without paying them as they too were also waiting for reimbursement by Johnson Insurance. A month after my car was repaired and the incident was long dealt with, Johnson had failed to refund me the cost of the deductible and dialogue with my useless broker was grossly ineffective as he had absolutely no authority to do anything. In the end, the owner of the body shop had to write me a personal cheque due to Johnson unprofessionalism and tardiness. DO. NOT. INSURE. WITH. JOHNSON.
