was with them for just short of 30 years. had critical illness insurance and life insurance till they eliminated it in 2008, not sure how it happened. but then the worst happened and no coverage, investigation... nothing. I will never go through them again!!! I have tried to just talk with them and either got hung up on, transferred to someone who wasn't even there, voice mail that you can't leave a message and was told they would get back to me and never did. this happened for years trying to get this straightened out. this is an awful company to deal with, my experience anyway. read more

Yet, I still feel reassured that TD will take care of everything as they had in the past for me. Many times this week calling into the centre with questions about my auto and home policies, have not been on hold for more than a minute. Great customer service over the phone (especially during daytime hours). Had a claim in 2017 and the TD Insurance Auto Centre was new at that time. Wonderful idea! One stop to meet with an adjustor, vehicle repair, and rental. All in one building, all in one place. An experience that was hassle free, stress free and one of the reasons that keeps me from leaving this insurance company. TD insurance has screwed me out of several thousand dollars after a head-on collision that was not my fault. After tens of phone calls, a document with "the wrong number", and having to pay the towing fee out of pocket, I am confident that I will never use TD insurance again and I am astonished a business is allowed to continue to conduct business like this. In summary, TD messed up on multiple occasions and have done nothing to correct it. Because of their mistakes, we will be out of pocket hundreds of dollars, or have our policy cancelled due to their ineptitude. For years, we've been loyal customers of both home and auto insurance. Service was always excellent. However, after moving a few years ago, we called to update address and banking information. They failed to update records which resulted in missed payment. We called again to arrange payment and to ask again to update banking info. The account details provided by agent was incorrect and payment did not get applied to our TD account, although it was debited from our bank. This was nearly 3 years ago and we have been calling and trying to get this resolved. TD said they returned the funds to our bank, but we did not receive them. Each time we call, they tell us it's our problem and we need to deal with the bank. When we call our bank, we get nowhere. read more

I had monthly payments to my credit card and had one not go through. They never told me. The second time I received a letter that I did not receive for 2 weeks as I work out of town. I went to pay they were closed and referred me to online. I finally went online to register and was downed. I then received a registered letter of a cancellation date and called to pay, but now I have to pay the full amount $2500! That was a big hit, when I see banks tell me via text every transaction, TD Meloche Monnex could do the same. The first letter did not say a deadline, the second letter did not say that I needed to pay the entire amount, but referred to the policy. The letter can give more give critical information. Besides offering great rates for professionals, what really stood out for me with TD Insurance Meloche Monnex is their staff on the phone line. I recently was involved in a traffic collision and every time I speak to a different adjuster, their first question is always inquiring about my health. They always ask to make sure my well being is in good order before going forward. As soon as I called my insurance indicating I was in an accident, they systematically send out a tow truck (if needed) as well as set up a rental to ensure I can still get around. Within half an hour of the incident, I'm back on the road getting to where I need to go. They are with you the client, every step of the way through e-mail and phone call updating me on my file status and even giving me updates on the other party in case I was worried about their well being. They are more on the proactive side letting me know how much longer I have the rental for and they are in contact with me to close off the communication loop. My plan also includes 1 free accident forgiveness perk which allows one at fault accident per year that does not increase my premiums I pay. Bundling auto and home insurance also provides a discount as well. TL;DR: very friendly service, always communicating with the client, no-premium increase if at fault one time a year; cheap if you bundle insurance. read more

I just switched over from AMA after 16 years to TD today because the renewal policy I received from AMA was astronomically high this year, so I went shopping around. I received the best quote from TD and called them today to confirm the details and finalize the switch. I hope I won't live to regret this decision because I was very happy with AMA's customer service over these past 16 years, just wasn't happy with the rates they were offering. I saved $800 a year for switching to TD, and that's definitely not chump change. Just hope if and when I need to file a claim with them, they will be just as friendly and cooperative as AMA was over the years. I was with them for 1 year...auto insurance. during that time my license was suspended due to fraud, I informed them of the situation. they compounded my stress by harassing me, and citing policy. Time for my renewal next week and they raise my rates so I cancel it (and went over to dominion who gave me even cheaper rates than i had been paying never mind the increase) only to be informed that my payment, thats not even due, has been 'locked' in already? and there's nothing anyone can do....so I closed that bank account and opened a new one. It's been a nightmare the whole time and it seems like the actual customer support staff are either helpless against policy or useless. read more

Cheapest Insurance out there until you have a claim, some of their adjusters use every trick that learn during their training, in 2013 The first OFFER from TD was 92% depreciation OMFG you can't replace any items with 8 cents per dollar . Just because it was used you can't find the exact or like and kind with even 50% YES they do Reimburse you but have to have $30,000 to $40,000 to buy everything with your cash, send the receipts and then they send you check on Laziest time that they want. I've been with TD home & auto for over 23 years. They just cancelled my home insurance because I would not let a third party into my home to have them snoop around. I told them if they wanted to give me a checklist of what needed to be checked and a security clearance of who they were sending in then that was fine. Got the registered letter instead. Just an excuse for them to come into my home and tell me things they want me to update or my rates go up. They are not home Inspectors...My house is only 9 years old and previous house insured by TD was built in 1956 and I lived there for 14 years and not one interest in coming into my home. As far as I'm concerned they can take their insurance and shove it...Morgex quoted me $45/mth less just on home and another $60/mth less on my 5 autos I insure with TD currently. Been a customer for over 20 years. Have home and auto insurance. No claims. Payment issues with my bank and they needed me to pay out the rest of the year. No problem. They ask for a money order which is no problem. Give me a small window to get the money to them. I express mail it to them and they claim it came a week late. They cancelled my coverage. Called to modify my existing home insurance policy. I was given a quote and a grace period to shop around for a better premium. Shopped around and found it was best to stick with TD. Called back to accept the new premium and was told that the previous quote was incorrect, and was given a much more expensive price, which was not the cheapest I found. Was told that the grace period was over and that the new premium prices were going into effect. Asked what the cancellation fee before the next payment would be, was given a number. Changed insurance providers and when I called back to cancel they tried to charge me over 3 times as much. Overall very frustrating to deal with and phone agents are either incompetent or are lying to you. read more

When I bought my auto and home insurance policy TD was fast to contact me but when I had to report a claim it took forever to contact a service agent. I was put on hold for over an hour and my hand held unit of my home phone ran out of battery power. It was frustrating. I am preparing to drive down to their downtown office to report the claim even though a customer should be able to just contact the office by phone. read more

Not a happy Camper ! Started insurance in Alberta 38 years ago with Liberty Mutual. Perfect. Never EVER had a problem with them. TD insurance cannot even come close to their customer service. Waiting 2 days to reach someone...anyone and have wait times over an hour each time till I finally hung up. (Still waiting...on HOLD as I write this review.) Someone ran INTO ME a few years ago and I had the most unpleasant experience ever. Could not get an agent in Edmonton to come out. I live in Leduc and the adjuster was in Ontario ???? It took me weeks to talk to him. Did not return calls. Ended up a 50/50 deal which I never agreed to. Thought your insurance was supposed to work for you. Ha! Guess it's time for a change. TD originally gave me a competitive rate on my auto insurance and, from reading a few positive reviews, I signed on. Immediately upon the first renewal by rate was increased by a whopping 21% although nothing had changed in my status and they'd never heard from me even once. When I called to complain I rec'd a very dismissive response and no valid explanation ~ she just said that they'd had heavy payouts so they had to increase their rates. Seriously! I thought rates were based on an individual's personal record. I have a big problem when companies treat new clients better than good existing ones just to drag in new business. Great rates and service. We have accident forgiveness protection and there was nothing that was a surprise when we got in an accident. Extremely good customer service that walks you through the process and really seem to care about taking away the stress. They arrange everything for you in a speedy manor.
