As it turns out we just didn't know any better. the big corporate names all seem to use the same marketing protocol. We had no idea what real ear measures even meant or looked like when being fitted for new aids. The results were very disappointing because we expected new aids to fix my problem. They did not! We actually stumbled across Dr. Zenker's while being in the same building for cataract surgery two years ago. Long story made short he is extremely knowledgeable and committed to doing the right thing for each patient. We purchased hearing aids had them fitted the correct way by Dr. Zenker. My molds fit perfectly very comfortable and more importantly the fitting the doctor did using Real Ear measures made all the difference in the world as to the results, which were fantastic not just hearing, but better, better control better, comfort better comprehension. It was like the difference between a poorly tuned engine and one that is perfectly tuned. I feel as though I probably didn't need the second set of new hearing aids from Miracle Ear, I just needed the first pair installed correctly and tuned correctly. How real ear measures are not known about worldwide is astounding to me given how well they work and are used by real Doctors of Audiology!! If you are in need of hearing aid, help of any kind I can tell you that Dr George Zenker is a real doctor of audiology and you should get to his office if you can. P.S. We are both seniors approaching 80 years and do not typically do reviews and I can only remember one other time when we did. P.S.S. He always tries to get to the ROOT of people's problem (not: "let's take a pill for you to sleep" it's,"let's *figure out* why you're so exhausted") State-of-the-art office with EMR and e-prescription ability (no chance of the pharmacy mistaking his handwriting - it's sent electronically from their office computer). WMH has a lab draw in his office daily from 10-noon, too. Office staff is always willing to help and you actually feel like they care about you as a person, not just a patient.
