She had to be sent to McLaren in Petosky where she received stellar care for the damage done in the War Memorial ER. The hospital is rated as a "C" in the Leapfrog national database but I give it an "F" for failure. Avoid this place if you can.

You are greeted at every entrance, and doctors office with a poster say assault is not our job. if you call the 800 number you get the same thing. This gives the lazy staff the excuse to not do their job. if you question your care at all they call security. I went to Emergency with a bowl obstruction. I get these from time to time because of my Crohns Disease. This was the first time sine My Michigan took over. I was treated like a drug seeker. I was left in the waiting room over an hour and a half. Then taken back to a room in the E.R. and left there. When I finally pressed the call light for help, 25 minutes after being left in the room, the fat lazy aid just answered through the intercom. He then came to my room a proceeded to argue with me that my pain wasn't as bad as his had been at some time. Then an RN came in and started telling me I had to wait my turn because they were busy. I worked a a paramedic for 24 years, and I know triage. Life threats like Chest pain and severe trauma come first, then abdominal pain because it is as much of a life threat. the RN tried to tell me this isn't how it works. I had the leave My Michigan Sault and my wife drove my 45 more minutes to St Ignance, where I was treated with respect for a bowel obstruction. As soon as we walk in there's one nurse at the desk and she doesn't even look up from her phone and says grab a number. They haven't even cleaned the waiting room mind you this waiting room is the size of a public bathroom at a splash pad. No tissues not even Lysol wipes. Absolutely filthy. NURSES WERE NO WHERE FOUND !!! FOR HOURS! just sat here like fools and had a toddler trying so hard to be patient. I'm speechless when it comes to being here. Everyone has shooed elders away saying that nurse is available but that nurse then says IM NOT A NURSE meanwhile she actually is. The desk area is COMPLETELY empty. You'd think being in the healthcare line you'd care for your patients and have basic necessities but that's too much to ask for here. This hospital is filth. Lacks respect. Do better or hire better. My advice save your time and go to Thessalon hospital. Yeah it's abit of a drive but you'll have much better results there and actually given human respect.
