I don't know why, but I always miss the entrance to Arne's Warehouse Party Store when I drive on Studemont Street. I was recommended to come here soon after Party City announced their nationwide closing. I was here late January on a cold rainy day. Parking was crazy, puddles everywhere. I spent about an hour to look at every aisle. I think I got some idea what to get next time here. The price tags were not clearly labeled. I had to ask the employees all the time. It was a bummer. I bought some fake fruits for my cooking show. I was surprised about the veteran's discount. read more

This is the best spot to get party and home decor supplies. Literally everything you need at an affordable price. It can be a tad difficult to find stuff but it's part of the experience because you don't go in in a hurry, you go in with the intention to spend at least 30 minutes hunting down good finds. Love this warehouse close to Montrose.From every imaginable holiday and special event items to glassware. It is almost impossible not to walk out with something you probably want but do not need . Prices are comparable to retail and parking can be hard during the holidays but still a cool shopping experience if have not been before. read more

Arne's Warehouse and Party Store is the best party store I have found. I was there earlier today with my daughters and we found everything we needed, and several things we just *wanted,* for a Winter Sparkle birthday party. They have glassware, serving pieces, artificial flowers, vases, candy, balloons, boas, Astros gear, toys, punch fountains, gift bags, every color of paper plates/cups/napkins/flatware/table coverings imaginable. They have a big room filled with supplies for weddings with lots of beautiful tiaras. They have theme isles - new baby, western, luau, beachy, and various birthday possibilities. Although seasonal, they have a huge selection of Halloween accessories and costumes. Other holidays featured include Hanukkah, New Year's, Thanksgiving, Christmas, Mardi Gras, Valentine's Day, St. Patrick's Day, and patriotic holidays. They don't have prices on a lot of their items, which is super annoying, but just get used to it and go find one of the price scanners in the area. Once you've been to the store a few times, you learn where they are. I agree with the other reviewers that the employees seem miserable. Are they okay? They are generally unhelpful and don't care what you're looking for -- they will avert their eyes to avoid requests for assistance. At this point, I just laugh. The people working the registers are better, but certainly not cheerful. The happiest people in the place seem to the be group of 3 to 5 people near the door checking receipts and helping deter theft. Despite a small hiccup or two, I love this place. It is far superior to Wal Mart, Party City, and yes, even Amazon. read more

I need silk flowers for a choker necklace piece I was making for a wedding outfit. I went to a nearby Michael's first but they only had holiday themed flower variations. Decided to google craft and party stores and came upon Arne's with mixed reviews. I am SO glad I took a chance on this place! Huge HUGE parking lots, and crazy busy on a Halloween weekend! Arne's warehouse pet store next door (we popped in here just for fun, but not as worth it and the aisles looked a little sparse). As I walked it, I realized how many locals must come for holiday decorations, birthdays, weddings, home deco, sweet 16s...this place massive! No signs to delineate what aisles and sections are themed as (although finding the silk flowers was rather easy lol). There's a second floor as well with toys, party favors, snacks, more decorations galore. It's a madhouse of stock inventory and interesting finds and decent prices (for the most part!). Do give yourself some time to sort through the madness and really explore for what you're looking for. The cash register lines can be very frustrating bc items aren't barcoded properly and the poor employees have to scramble out of the area to find pricing or someone who knows what they're doing. The Mecca of all things party related. Two stories of insanity. If I could live there I just might! What do you need? Wedding supples? Bridal Showers? Baby showers? Mother's Day? Father's Day? Graduation? Kids birthdays? Adult birthdays? Valentines? Mardi Gras? Christmas? Halloween? St. Patrick's Day? Homecoming? DIY party projects? Kid toys? Easter? Hanukkah? Kids birthday treat bag items? Plastic Cutlery? I could go on and on. Tons of parking. Tons. An Annex store across the street. You can't bring your shopping basket out to your car, but let the cashier know if you need help and someone will assist you and your items to your car. If you use a shopping cart upstairs, you will need to bring it to the elevators so that the employees can have your items sent down to the first floor. You then meet back up with your belongs on the first floor. I love this place and have been coming here for decades, but I do feel like the dollar store would be better fit for some of your items. Of course it's owned by Arne Schwarzenegger, Barbie loves it, I love it, and I'll be back. This is a lovely warehouse party store and pet store and what not in Houston and we use it mainly for pet supplies across the street, and we think they're absolutely fantastic. They have pretty much all the things you might need for pets and good service and prices too. Not dirt cheap, but much cheaper than a Petco or a Petsmart for sure. read more

Arne's just lost a customer. I willl NEVER shop here again! Beware on the helium tank rentals - they will try to SCREW YOU OVER on late fees! I had rented my tank on Thu for a Sat party. For starters they said the 3-day rental was due back on Sat! Uh, that's actually a 2-day rental (hello 48 hours) but they said Thu counted as day 1 with Sat being day 3. Whatever. I had planned on returning the tank on Sun and was ok with a $10 late fee. Well things happened and I didn't get back on Sun. Arnes is CLOSED on Mon and Tue. So I took the tank back on Wed and was proceeded to be charged for 4 DAYS LATE! Nevermind I had no opportunity to return on Mon or Tue! The manager person or whoever the desk person called over was very rude and argumentative. ZERO CUSTOMER skills. Would not charge me the weekly extended rate either of $15. Just saying that's not what my contract states and walks off! read more

They have great supply but good luck getting an employee to help you. Went in to buy a tiara and was passed over 3 times for Spanish speakers. Everyone on the floor looks miserable and acts like they are doing you a huge favor. Great spot to buy goods and cashiers are somewhat more friendly but beware: bring a friend to help you bc you're on your own on the floor. read more

We've gone to Arne's for years! They stock everything you need for casual wedding & shower, brunches, birthdays & any other parties where you might prefer matching paper goods / place settings (plates in various sizes, cups, napkins, silverware, placemats, table cloths, centerpieces etc). I don't think they have wedding rentals like archways, chairs, punch bowls, coffee pots, glassware etc but I don't really remember - they can probably refer you! And other seasons & popular themes, they are on the ball! Halloween is the best.... you can ask them why- they may still host the haunted house in the back ! They also have some craft items, but I wouldn't call them a craft store so it's more limited to specific things like miniatures and woodworking stuff. It is a warehouse 2-story with fans blowing the open outside air. They have a conveyor belt from upstairs to put your items on so you don't have to carry things up and down the stairs. Quite possibly the best party supplies store in Houston. They have an absolutely massive selection across two floors covering all kinds of holidays, events, and celebrations at prices that are significantly cheaper than what you find at chains like Party City. You can literally find something for everything here. These positives are, however, also the source of the negatives. A good number of other people have also discovered Arne's, and they do not have adequate parking to deal with the number of people, leading you to spend time looking for a spot often in the street outside of the small main lot. Additionally, the size of the space and selection means that the layout comes across as being a bit disorganized and haphazard. Those drawbacks, though, should not be enough to keep you away. If you're looking to throw a party (or attend one, as they have a less extensive collection of costumes), you'd be well advised to make Arne's one of your stops. read more

I used to always come here when throwing corporate events so I never ventured into other areas until recently. WHY!?!? We were throwing a WWE birthday bash for my friends son and couldn't find much of anything anywhere in town. I was prepared to find nothing here. Well I was proven wrong. One should never assume until trying! Found pez dispensers, candy, party favors, piñatas, and so on... we also ended up buying a ton of other items for upcoming kids parties and I eyed several craft items I will need to return and get! The two issues I would have to mention is the parking spaces are either too tight or extremely difficult to get into and the way they place signs and alarm detectors make you feel like a crook. read more

Thousands of decorations under one roof make this a one stop shop. As a newbie to the Arne's scene, I truly didn't know what to expect. After searching for party decorations at several places closer to my house, I'm glad I took the time to drive out there. The building is an old, 2-story warehouse. There is some type of annex with clearance items across the street. I didn't go in there because I had enough of what I needed. The store is pretty decently organized and surprisingly neat in spite of the massive amount of merchandise inside. It literally has the largest selection of party and holiday decorations I've ever seen under one roof. And, as an extra bonus, there is plenty available staff on hand to answer your questions or even get a different color if needed. The only reason I'm not giving them a 5/5 stars is because I was looking for one of the few things that they don't carry, decorative throw pillows. But all-in-all, I left a satisfied customer. read more

If you are looking for pet supplies, go to Arne's Annex instead. The whole store is dedicated to pets (birds, cats, dogs, small rodents, even fish). There's parking in front of the annex as well. This review is solely for the Annex, not the Warehouse & Party Store. Now, I love my Pocky boy and yes I am that pet parent that buys my baby something for Christmas. I do that even for Valentines and pretty much any holiday because why not? So, I come in here to find my boy some apparel since he loves wearing jackets, no kidding--he does. He always gets excited when we buy him jackets or sweaters for his birthday. So my aunt recommends this place to us, swearing by that it is cheap, reasonably priced, but to our (my sister and I) surprise it was far from that. Jackets, sweaters, and raincoats were $16 which isn't cheap, not even close. They didn't have any cool masculine looking sweaters for male dogs, all of the sweaters were ugly. Big Lots had a better selection. Even the toys section was sky-high for no good reason or was it because they had toy characters such as Lambchop, Gumby, Garfield, Odie, toys created by Miranda Lambert??? Still no reason. However, we were able to find some sandwich cookies and a slow feed dog bowl for cheap. Cookies: $2 and bowl: $6. Usually slow feed dog bowls cost a lot more at Petsmart and Petco, so it was nice to see it so cheap here. Also, the dog beds were too pricey, no spill trays were $10 too much. They had more female dog clothing than male dog clothing which I don't understand why all pet stores do that. As soon as you walk in, there's a security guard playing on his cell phone, plenty of baskets or if you call them buggies, price checkers, but the store does seem vacant as in where are all of the associates? On the intercom, there's this lady who loves to scream and almost busted my eardrum with her big mouth, so be sure not to stand underneath the intercom.
