The flowers are beautiful every time, and the staff is so nice and helpful. As a recent example, I ordered flowers to be sent to my Grandma on her birthday. She's an older lady. I was on the phone with her when her flowers were delivered (and she actually had two -- my mom ordered her flowers as well!). The delivery person offered to bring the flowers in, made suggestions in her home on where they would look nice, told her happy birthday 3-6 times, offered a birthday hug AND asked if she could get my Grandma anything before she left. I wish I could've hugged her through the phone! She went above and beyond to personalize the delivery and make my Grandma feel special. I remember these folks being like this since I was a little kid -- so I'm glad to say my family has been customers for the better part of at least 50+ years. Don't make the mistake of going to any other florist in Cortland. ;)

I was pointedly ignored, even when I was in the same area of the small shop within eyeshot/earshot. I was the only customer in the store (and only PoC) before the two (white) customers came in separately, one after the other. This is treatment I also received at another shop at Ithaca mall (incidentally also with "Willow" in the name). Feels bad, man. Terse service when I asked a question of the staff member there. There's an anecdotal half-joke among us QPoC that a white person with colorful hair typically means "safe" staff for BIPOC/queer folks, but that was not the vibe I got here, sadly. It's too bad that Asian customers are treated this way at an establishment that sells so much Asian-inspired merchandise (kawaii goods, food items). I won't likely be back, even though it is a cute, very modern boutique. I will just head down to Michaleen's Florist & Greenhouse down the road and the farmer's market instead for plants, soaps, gifts. I feel more welcome in those spaces, even if they're predominantly white.

David was so gracious and easy to work with; I came to him with such a late request for these centerpieces and bouquets and he made it happen in just a couple of months' time. We had one great, efficient call and, after that, I didn't have to worry about a thing. The team at Willow Floral used such high-quality plants, my sunflower and greenery centerpieces lasted almost 3 full weeks after the wedding. My greenery bouquet of ferns and eucalyptus is still beautiful and I will be drying it out to preserve it forever! beware!!!!! i had a bit of landscaping and potential hardscaping to be done. we agreed to begin…read morewith a basic clean up of brush for 3 days. she was charging m3 $3000/day + 3000 for travel fee and they were working only five hours perd day. some areas were totally over worked leaving it raw with no protection from the elements and ither areas were not touched. on day 4 jackie sent her crew again unbeknownst to me, and again. the work totalled. $17000. her practices are not upfront. she does not listen to what you're expectations are and prices are Outrageous for what the service is. the brush that was removed was all piled into two enormous piles. while she did ask me where to put it, it wasnt until they started. this is not improvement to have it bare and piled up in the middle of the yard in massive burn piles. piles that are so big i have not burned out of concern, the fire would grow out of control.

Dave's Veggies also happens to be the only place that my mother has been able to find "balloon plants" - a lovely plant that blooms with flowers in varying shades of blue and purple. We visited a couple weeks ago and didn't see any balloon plants out for sale in the yard, so my mother asked about them and one of the guys at the market went into one of the greenhouses in the back and found a couple for her. Honestly, the folks who run this operation are always so lovely and caring and they just want to provide great service. And they do! For me, I love buying as many veggies here as possible. It always depends on what they have available, of course, but I've never been disappointed with anything I've purchased. Quality is always high, and I love being able to support a local market like this. Highly recommend!

The Plantsman is a nursery specializing in native plants, with at least 200 varieties, most started…read morefrom their own native seeds or existing stock. They also carry some common garden plants too. Their grounds carry everything from foundational trees and shrubs to easy growing flowers to veggies and fruits. They also have sections organized by Deer Resistant, Veggies, Shade Shrubs, Sun, Partial Shade, Trees, Partial Shade Flowers, etc. It's easy to find your way around, though the staff will gladly help too. I found their nursery to be sizeable but not overwhelming. As someone who is newer to gardening I thought their signage is some of the best I have ever seen- on every plant variety they have a big sign with its common name, genius, zones, size, sun/shade needs, if the plant is native or not, and unique features, along with clear pricing. The signage was useful in making sure the plants would be happy at my home, though all the plants I looked at seemed fairly robust period. I wound up with some shade loving white wood asters, sun loving sunflowers, and brown-eyed susans. While I'm a newbie gardener I think more experienced gardeners would be happy here too given all the options and knowledge at hand. They do have a big commercial/pickup side and offer landscaping and hardscaping services for those who are interested. I thought car parking was easy but I was also visiting towards the end of the end of a day on a weekday.
