With the closing of mainstay Gourmet's Palate (which has subsequently reopened), the market became wide-open for such places to compete with those that have been 24/7 since the start, including the two branches of Sinangag Express. Soon after Gourmet's Palate closed its doors, Dusadee Thai began operating at all hours, adding much-welcome variety to the late-night-to-early-morning food scene in BF. As the name suggests, the place serves Thai food exclusively. Good Thai food, to be exact. The Pad Thai and spring rolls are excellent, and the different curries are quite tasty too. This doesn't come as a huge surprise, as the owner is actually a Thailand native. The meals are priced fairly, especially given the portion size and level of taste. The place is quite small, so you may have to wait a bit if there are no seats available. You can also get your meals delivered if you live in the area. You can choose to light up if you get one of the outdoor seats, although I recommend taking a few steps away to the parking lot instead.

I don't know why there isn't a single Mexican restaurant in the Bicutan, Better Living area where I live. But I'm glad that there's this one Thai restaurant along Dona Soledad Extension called Sen Lek. The best thing about Sen Lek Thai restaurant is its being little more than a carinderia, which means that the dishes are affordable. The Thai restaurants that I've been to which are in Makati are all pretty pricey, so having one so close to home at wallet-friendly prices makes Sen Lek a little restaurant that I will probably be frequenting in the weeks and months to come. I ordered take out from there not too long ago, and I was asked if I wanted my food mild or strong. I don't care for extra spicy food as I get hyperacidic after eating them. The mild food of Sen Lek is still a little bit spicy, but tolerably so. Since there's a Thai massage place a stone's throw from this restaurant, I am wondering if there's a Thai community somewhere here. I don't mind. I've met some Thais over the years, and they are surprisingly a lot closer to us Filipinos than our brother Malaysians and Indonesians. Anyway, because the food is so good and the prices so reasonable, I give Sen Lek Thai restaurant five stars.

As a…read moreresident of this neighborhood, naturally I hold very little expectations for food places here --great food just does not pop out from this area. Silom Thai, being located in SM Bicutan, a place that doesn't really have anything fascinating food-wise, was a place that made my eyes light up when it opened. As a vegan, I go straight to the vegetable dishes. And, as expected with Thai cuisine, there are some good veggie selections! For appetizers, the Fresh Vegetarian Spring Rolls are delicious and quite filling on their own. They also have some salads suitable for vegans. You can also have a Vegetarian Noodle Soup (you can pick the kind of noodles you want! Awesome) which is a pretty huge serving. When I'm here, a staple for me is their Vegetable & Tofu Curry (which 2 people can share) and paired with white rice--it's perfect! You can have it made extra spicy as well. For desserts, I was really delighted by their Water Chestnuts in Iced Coco Milk. Their Mango Sticky Rice also does not disappoint! Now for beverages: I always stick to a refreshing glass of their Lemongrass Iced Tea. Actually, I love this place so much that I can say that Silom Thai for me is the best place to have a meal in the whole area of Betterliving neighborhood. Great value for money, too!

One morning they had bread and butter pudding squares and the other morning they had taisan bread. Both were so scrumptious!! Our server Harven was a delight! Friendly, got us warm milk, and answered my 6 million questions! We also took pictures in the back patio that overlooked Laguna de Bay. Beautiful views in every direction. They also had pineapple and mango jam! New jam flavors to me that were delicious on my cream cheese filled French toast. My husband also tries the miso ramen and the fresh salad with a great sesame dressing. In other words, we ate everything, everyone was so friendly and the views are incredible.

While technically indoors, the restaurant opens its large sliding doors in the evening, creating a cool, breezy, open-air feel that makes the space both comfortable and memorable. It's easy to understand why so many couples choose this venue for date nights and proposals. The atmosphere alone is worth the visit. Since we came for an early dinner, we mostly ordered appetizers and dishes for sharing. We started with the Seafood Clam Chowder served in a bread bowl. It was decent and comforting, nothing particularly memorable, but certainly not bad. The Sisig Lumpia was unfortunately the weakest dish of the evening. Good sisig should have some crispness and texture, but this version lacked that signature crunch and came across as overly oily. It was the one dish I probably wouldn't order again. On the brighter side, the Pinchos drizzled with balsamic reduction were flavorful and enjoyable. The Beef Nachos were the star of the savory dishes, generously portioned, satisfying, and perfect for sharing. For dessert, we had the Frozen Brazo de Mercedes, which was a great way to end the meal and easily one of the highlights of our order. Service was excellent throughout. The staff were attentive, warm, and professional, making sure everything flowed smoothly without being intrusive. While the food this visit was a bit mixed, the stunning views, romantic ambiance, and impeccable service continue to make The Nest a place worth returning to. I've dined here before and remember some of their entrées being much stronger than the appetizers we ordered this time, so I'd happily come back and explore more of the menu. The food may not be flawless, but the experience certainly is. For the view, ambiance, and service alone, The Nest earns a solid 4 out of 5 star

It's served with a small slice of lime, though as a matter of preference my boyfriend and I did ask for more. It just gives the noodles that extra shot of citrus that livens everything up and ties everything together. Even the nutty taste doesn't sit heavily in the stomach like other pad thais do. We also ordered the beef satay, which is rich, savory, and moist the way most other satays aren't. A lot of moisture is lost in the grill or pan, especially when the pieces of meat are small, but somehow, Sen Lek manages to keep its satay succulent. Their mango sticky rice is my favorite menu item though. I'm one of those people for whom dessert is chocolate, chocolate, and more chocolate, but this dish was an exception.
