Had dinner with my friend here on a Friday evening. There was a table occupied, we were only the second. We ordered Chicken tikka balti(#49) and Palak Paneer(#64) along with naan (the Indian bread). The food was delicious and tasty, we enjoyed it quite a bit. Total bill was around 320 SEK, we felt it was reasonably priced for dinner of two people in Stockholm. The waiter greeted us pleasantly, tried talking to us in one of the Indian languages. I felt it was a great gesture of him and it made us feel homely. We wanted to try one chicken and one vegetarian dish. He suggested us to try the palak paneer, which turned out to be great with rice. The chicken dish was better with the bread. We wanted to try the chicken curry a bit spicier and with less oil, so we informed him of it and it was just perfect. The temperature of the food is alright and the quantity was quite filling. Overall, my friend loved the food more than me. I enjoyed it quite a bit though. Even the waiting time was not much, we got our food quickly. A really nice Indian restaurant! I ordered the chicken biryani. The sauce that came with the dish was delicious (my dinner companion loved it to so we finished it of and had to order a second pot). The biryani was beautifully spiced with cardamom, raisins and saffron and together with crunchy cashew and fried onion it was a treat. The staff was friendly and the total cost for two people for dinner was 280kr (including two mains, naan bread and sallad with sauce). I'ld love to come back and trie more dishes! read more

WARNING-the owners of this business are extremely unethical. I was only in Sweden for a few days and my friends and i decided to go here for dinner. We were excited when we saw good prices under the BarnSpecial heading- and we all ordered off that section. Make no mistake, the man taking our order CLEARLY understood we were ordering off that section. We asked him what the difference was between the pricier dishes and the barnspecial, and he said "the barnspecial dishes are mild flavored". So, ourfood came and it was okay. The tikka masala was too sweet but it was good. I decided to get another dish to go since the price was so good. I went up to the counter, and ordered from a different man at the counter. I got a menu, flipped to the barnspecial page, and asked for the "barnspecial lamb biriyani." He let me make the order. Time to pay comes and the bill for all of us is more than twice what we expect. I try to tell the man that we ordered off the barnspecial category, and then they told us that we weren't allowed to order off that part of the menu and we had to pay the full price!! We are BROKE college students!! It was absolutely infuriating that the same men who took our orders-were now pretending that they did not knowingly scam us. It was absolutely clear that they knew what we were trying to order. We would have stayed and stood our ground longer, but all of a sudden another two men appeared and being a group of women, the last customers (and the only customers the entire night I might add) we felt extremely uncomfortable and just paid and left. I hope that our bad reviews are enough to deter any potential customers from visiting this mediocre, uncomfortable, and extremely unethical establishment. read more

Ate here with my family while staying at the Clarion Sign around the corner. There were two other tables with diners when we arrived for dinner at about 6:30 PM. My wife ordered a chicken with vegetables dish (#19), and I had a spicier version of chicken curry. My son ordered a beef/lamb combo. Prices were very reasonable. Total bill for the three of us with naan and beers for each of us was about 700 SEK. All our dishes were very tasty. Mine had just the right amount of heat. i give it 5 stars based on service. Even though there were only two people working, they worked hard to provide good service. Also, as i was asking the waiter for help/advice when ordering a spicier curry dish. He thought i wanted both dishes, and brought them both. When i explained i only wanted one, he didnt make a fuss. The consensus of my family is that it was totally reasonable that he thought i wanted both. he took one back. After several days of bland Scandinavian dishes, Aroti was a very welcome change of taste. read more

Saw the reviews and took the chance. Have been looking for a good Indian restaurant in my neighborhood for some time now. We ordered take out: chicken Tikka, the lamb special, papadam and nans. Everything except the papadam was tasteless. Expensive but then all Indian in Stockholm is. Very disappointed. Yet another bland Indian in town. Few pieces of lamb, chewy and dry. Chicken tasted more like soybeans with a touch of tandoori. Weird. Why is it so hard to get it right?? read more

The quality of service at this restaurant is absolutely atrocious. I went with a group and we don't understand Swedish, so when we saw a section on the menu (Barnspecials) that was cheaper than the other food options, we asked our waiter why it was cheaper not knowing that it was the kid's menu and he told us the prices were lower because the food in that section was all mild. We even pointed to the menu while ordering to make sure the waiter knew which items we were ordering. When we went to the register to pay, the cashier told us that we had to pay regular prices, which confused us because our waiter had approved that we could order from Barnspecials. It was clear that they had scammed us. I strongly advise others to be wary of this. read more

Great place. Took my family there. All four of us had well-prepared dishes (three curries, Chicken Byrani, and three types of naan). The staff is from Chennai (Madras), so the food is authentic. Price of food is comparable to places in the US. Would have eaten here more times during my short stay in Stockholm if I weren't trying to get the "tourist" experience and instead just going off what I like. Highly recommended. read more
