I came here to get two 18x24 prints framed. I wanted nice frames but nothing too extravagant. The salesperson was unable to provide or even estimate the price of frames - every time I wanted to know the price, she would walk across the store to look it up in the system and shout the price to me. Most of the frames we looked at were coming in way beyond what I was looking to spend. I told the salesperson this and she proceeded to continue this price shouting process until we found a pair of frames that came in closer to my budget but looked nothing like what I had in mind. Over priced selection, poor customer service. I felt pressured to go ahead with the frame purchase just to get out of the store and end the uncomfortable interaction. I came back later in the day to ask for a refund and a different salesman had a bad attitude and rolled his eyes at me while issuing my refund. read more

I had three posters framed by Chris at Around the Corner. Chris was so helpful and made great suggestions to help me pick framing elements that were all as different as the pieces themselves but went together just like the series. The frames and mats are all the same, in different colors to go with the art but the same tone so they all go together. I love these posters, my mother bought them in 1974 at the globe theater and they've been hanging in my house for 15 years. They mean a great deal to me and Around the Corner took great care of them and did a fantastic job framing them. Thanks so much guys! read more

Horrible, Horrible, Horrible! Do not use this place. I had to write a demand letter to get a response because Amanda, the owner, stole an antique frame, and most likely sold it. Her response has been utterly horrific. She said, I offered you a refund on the frame you picked out, but she never framed it!!! She is absolutely the worst business person I have ever dealt with. She admits I left the frame there by mistake, but since it was over 30 days, it's just too bad. When I demanded to know where the frame went, she sheepishly stated, "I put it out". In her response to my demand letter, she claims she lost it. How about, YOU SOLD IT! WHAT A THEIF. BTW, I was in the shop a few weeks after I left it and she never mentioned it to me. HMMM, interesting. I love how she states that there is no monetary value?!?! read more

I'm not one to typically write reviews, but I feel an obligation to warn folks about this place. The salesperson Daniella gave me the worst customer service I've seen in years. I walked in because I had two sketches I wanted framed. From the moment I walked in, Daniella acted like she wanted to be somewhere else. I felt pressured and rushed to make a purchase. When I asked to explore more frames, she became increasingly terse and rude -- telling me that my choices "looked awful," offering sarcastic commentary on my selections, cutting me off with an aggressive tone of voice, getting on the phone with her friend and ignoring my questions about frame size etc.. Over the course of the 15 or so minutes I was in the shop she became increasingly hostile and agitated, eventually escalating to personal insults and derogatory language. I highly recommend avoiding this shop! read more

I've always wondered why someone with literally ZERO personality would even have a business thats open to the public... Amanda is simply unpleasant and acts like she is doing you a huge favor by charging WAY too much money for ordering a frame .. according to her they don't do the framing there, they're basically like a dry cleaners and just send the art out to be framed and resell, I recently switched over to A street and they been exceptional with service, turn-around, quality and selection. read more

How good is Amanda? She makes BAD art look good! Believe me, I tested her. The framing jobs she did for me were fantastic and creative in their own right. First, she spent a lot of time with me when I first brought a number of prints and watercolors in. She was great at recommending mats and frames that worked the art. Not in a typical way, either-- this wasn't only pleasing-living-room-art-frames, but frames and mats that emphasized details or themes in the work that surprised me. Then, a lot of thought went into how she matted the work, too-- she did one piece in a sort of tongue-in-cheek Edwardian style that just rocks. It is now one of my favorite prints. I couldn't be happier, and actually I can't wait to bring in another batch (hear that, Amanda? As soon as it stops snowing so I can get'em there dry, brace yourself). The quality of the work is exceptional. My partner actually works for a different framing company which shall go nameless and is MUCH more expensive than Around The Corner, and he was blown away by how sturdy the framing is. And, yes, the pricing is very good for the quality and care for the work. Cannot recommend it more highly. read more

Amanda is the best - both at what she does, and at customer service. If I could, I would return with every single thing I ever want to frame again. She bent over backwards to frame and re-frame a diploma that had been rolled up for more than a decade. She warned me that the ripples from being rolled up would never really go away, but when I picked up the piece, I could barely see the artifacts. She did a beautiful job. Without sharing some too-personal-details, let me also tell you that there was a horror story surrounding getting this thing framed, and that she was inconvenienced by it. Instead of being annoyed, she was so sympathetic that she discounted the labor on the framing, and even opened the shop an hour early for me to pick it up on my way out of town! Amanda Accardi is exceptional at her job, and exceptional as a person. You would be doing yourself a disservice if you did not take all your framing needs to Amanda at Around the Corner. read more

I do not regularly write reviews on Yelp. However, the ABOVE AND BEYOND service that I received makes me want to spread the word. I purchased a VERY big mirror for my condo's entryway and had 4 pictures re-matted. They said they would deliver and help me install, which I thought was very helpful. The actual installation included walking the mirror and frames over on a dolly for several blocks (the mirror is way too big for any car/SUV trunk) and staying for TWO hours to install the mirror, hang the foursome of re-matted pictures AND help hang 6 other pictures that I could not do myself. There is no way the pictures & mirror would look as good (and hang as straight!) as they do if they had not been so generous with their time and assistance. And of course, the quality of the framing was superb. I highly recommend them. read more
