Arrecifes is a Brazilian-style churrascaria in Nizuc (Moon Palace Cancun). The service is top notch as it is through the whole resort. This restaurant doesn't need a reservation and is relatively large so you're likely to be seated fast. There's a big and well put together buffet, house wines, wine list, and the well known cards to signal "yes, gimme meat" or "I'm done". The meat was flavorful and IMO on par with chains like Texas de Brazil or Fogo. They also offer table-side Cafe Azteca which is a delicious end of your meal and a great "show" to watch as the waiters are very skilled in making it. It has a view to the pool and the ocean, which makes the ambiance delightful. The location is good for large groups and celebrations as well. read more

This meat-on-a-stick place is exactly what any carnivore could ever want. After a long, hard morning run, protein was on the day's menu. The pre-meal salad and crudité bar is extensive and the meat doesn't stop until you turn your card to "in a coma" mode. Don't forget the desserts, too, that include specialty chocolates from the boulangerie. Our waitress, Gabriella, was amazing. A Brazilian style steakhouse - A Churascaria, evoked anticipation in all of us. So we rushed to it for dinner. Alas the fare being served was just ok. They were some cuts of beef and pork but we having experienced a dizzying range of meats served on skewers in the Bay Area found the experience slightly underwhelming but whatever they served was quite good. The redeeming feature was their continental breakfast , the next day with the live omelet station which made your omelet exactly as you like it with all fixings that you choose yourself from the various optional ingredients that they on hand. They are good for at least one try for dinner and great for breakfasts! read more

This Brazilian steakhouse Is located on the Nizuc side of Moon Palace. Reservations weren't required and at the time we arrived for dinner, around 7ish, there wasn't a wait. After we were seated, a basket of cheesy breads were brought as starters. We were then told to start with the self serve food stations, which include salads, cheeses, cold cuts, hot side dishes and even paella. Minutes later, our servers started with the skewers, and it came at such a rapid pace that we didn't even have a chance to slowly enjoy our meats. It started with Canadian bacon. This was probably the best one. Smoky and sweet. Another one for me was the Parmesan chicken. It tasted like a super crunch cheese crusted fried chicken. Crunchy, hot & juicy. All of the other meats: Sirloin, skirt steak, 2 types of Brazilian meats, brisket were either on the dry side or lacked flavor on its own. They did provide a side of chimichurri and a spicy jalapeño dip. Both were necessary to give the meats some flavor. We also ordered a Mayan coffee, which is essentially an alcoholic affogato. But the 'show' behind this is entertaining. It was our server's first time and he did a great job. Our servers were good. They constantly checked up on us to make sure everything was well. Picanha. That's what you ask for. The meats come frequent and fresh from the spit. Laid out next to the tables is a long buffet of sides. Charcuterie galore, breads and other meat accompaniments. But what we came for... those sword skewered meats. Bring in the meat sweats. Stay away from the poultry. I requested from the server the picanha and he brought that out next. He carved me a med-rare slice of beef heaven. Oh yes. I said beef sliced heaven. Desserts were nice and the flambéed coffee was a nice show. read more

This one at Nizuc does not need reservations. A few tips: 1. Skip the salad and appetizers. You are here for the meat. 2. They have 7 kinds of meat, but even it's the same kind, it could be a different body part. WAIT for the ones that you prefer. They come often. 3. if I could only eat at one restaurant at Moon Palace this would definitely be it! Arrecifes specializes in a variety of meats served at your table and, for a massive meat fan like myself this was heaven on earth. The meat eaters in the family went through the nights offering which included beef skirt, sirloin, roast chicken, Argentinian sausage and short rib as well as a choice of two pasta dishes and then went through most of the offerings again. Those of a less carnivorous bent were more than happy with the wide variety of vegetables and salads and, in common with most of the Moon Palace restaurants, the staff were happy to prepare gluten free versions of dishes. Service was exceptional, polite and had just the right amount of humour to be entertaining without being intrusive. Each meat was brought in a timely manner which suggested an attentive server. The meal was concluded by the table side preparation of a flaming cocktail which was delicious. This is a large restaurant which meant that on the two occasions we dined here we didn't need to book and didn't need to wait to be seated. Interestingly, the size of the place didn't stop us feeling that we were having an intimate family meal due to the thoughtful design. read more

I have to say I would totally recommend Moon Palace to anyone that wants a place to stay in Cancun area. Of course it was a little bit on the expensive side but it was worth it. It was a blast and yes when you are on vacation you tend to be a little bit on the lazier side so I decided to mostly stay in doors and stay inside Moon Palace. All my food was included for breakfast, lunch and dinner and even room service as well! But I do also know if you do not want it like this you can change it with your reservation. Be warned you will need to keep the black bracelet on your wrist. If this bracelet is lost though you will get charged $100.00 USD! Inside Moon Palace there is this Brazilian buffet which is named Arrecifes. It was amazing with 7 different meats and a nice salad bar with a lot of different sides! The meat of course is taken to the table and the server will ask you if you would like that particular piece of meat. With a variety of chicken, beef and pork I think you won't get bored. The service was really quick and attentive and don't forget to get the dessert that lights on fire. I just forgot what the name is. If you are staying in this hotel, it's worth the long wait. I think it is one of the best places that we had during our whole entire trip. read more

Personally, I would have given this place a five star. . . But my wife grew up in Brazil and there comes into a factor, where authenticity comes into play. For me, I don't really care. But she insists that it is not the real Brazilian Experience. Well.... dah! This is Mexico, honey! For me at least, since you're in Moon Palace anyway, this is definitely a must. The meat was excellent. I ate at least a pound of meat (which may not be a lot for you all) and my personal favorite was the tri-tip. The atmosphere was good. You don't have to wear a tux, but don't try going in your swim pants and a T. At least wear some long pants and a polo. Probably not a small kid friendly place too. I went with my teenagers and they were perfect. They also enjoyed the food and the experience immensely. The only downside is, i would not be able to come here again unless I am booked for Mood Palace. Overall, a very good restaurant. read more

This is a Brazilian all you can eat steak house. The servers come to you with several different types of meats until you throw in the red card. The Brazilian top sirloin and the chorizo were my two favorite meats. They offer a salad bar with all types of veggies, salads, deli meats etc. Remember to ask for the Mayan coffee at the end of your meal. The restaurant is located close to the lobby right next to the lobby bar so you can have a couple drinks if there is a wait. Highly recommended A+++ read more

By far the best place I went to at Moon Palace. For meat lovers, this is the place to go. The wait staff continually brings you meats to try. I had probably two pounds of steak. The salad bar has decent options too, but honestly it doesn't really matter because you're really here for the meat. I would recommend getting there right at opening though, as it can get very crowded as the night goes on. read more

This is the best restaurant we ate at so far. What makes the meal is not only the food but the service. Last night we were lucky to be serve by the team of Julio and Marco. Superb service and attention to our needs. They were five star champs. The meats were okay. You will be served the following cuts medallion, Brazilian, chicken, pork, chorizo sausage, flank then sirloin. I liked the first two because the cuts were small skewers so you piece will include the outside of the meat where the seasoning is. It could also be that I was very hungry. Chicken was white meat and was slightly dry but what white chicken meat isn't. I am not a fan of white meat so take this comment with a grain of salt. Pork was okay. Chorizo had a lot of vinegar which didn't suit my taste. My recommendation is pass on it. Flank steak is super tender but has an odd slight after taste. The sirloin is served last. It was a very large piece on the skewer. The outside of the meat was charred. It would have to be to cook this large piece in a reasonable time. I look forward to this piece because I like my meat rare. The best you will get is medium well. The meat was good but definitely needed seasoning. The salad dressing could be much better and are heavy on the mayonnaise. For wine, I chose the Caliterra Reserve. I had a ton of credits to burn so I picked the most expenses on the wine list hoping it would be a decent Cabernet. The wine started sweet fresh out of the bottle. Soon afterward the sweetness disappears and the wine get slightly drier and because a decent enjoyable wine. If you are still with me then order the Mayan coffee with desert. It comes with a nice little table side show by Julio. The drink is great ending to the meal. If you eat here then cross your fingers that you get a great server team. This is the Brazilian style restaurant at Moon Palace. The staff is friendly, courteous and professional. The Salad Bar is plentiful, so many choices of greens, cheeses, vegetables etc... The Hot Bar has great selections as well... the Paella is EXCELLENT !!! The choices of the meats that are served to each individual at the table is good, several red meats, including flank steak... pork, turkey, chorizo sausage, chicken...eat as much as you want until you flip over your green card to red. This place is the awesome the flank steak and pork loin are a must and for dessert find Fernando and ask him to make you a Mayan Coffee for the highlight of the night. read more
