I started my policy with this office several years ago. The agent I was working for opted to move…read moreto another agency and I transferred to Sadaf. This was fine as I had met Sadaf and knew she was capable woman. However, slowly over the years, I've had a multitude of issues that I could not ignore: Every time I moved and notified them to update my renters insurance, they never did. Unless I spoke with Sadaf directly, nothing on my account was ever updated accurately or on time. Even the after time I came in-person. It didn't matter how I asked for my information to be updated or policies to be updated, it was never completed the first time I asked. Never. This becomes a problem when you're paying for months on an insurance policy for a car you no longer own or an apartment you no longer reside in. It was after I was hit in a parking lot by a distracted dad in a big new truck the big issues started. Due to a mis-management of this small bumper rub (adjuster quote $700 in damage, actual damage $3700), my car was totaled out AFTER it was completely taken apart by the body shop to fix it. Then the total loss department loss took my full deductible out of my payment and then some out of my final payment, different than my paperwork said. When I received confirmation this was incorrect from people above him, I was cut the correct check amount. 2 months later he calls me and tells me to pay back the over payment. On top of which, both vehicles I had owned still had me as in collections for non-payment when I had been without a car for 3 months. (Sold one and totaled out the other). My agent was suppose to sort it all out. But she never did because I got another collection notice 2 months later. I had to call and sort it myself. All of this took HOURS on the phone. My boss was upset how much time, 8-5, I had spent on this. The very last straw was when I called, (after emailing my request directly to Sadaf, as requested by her, to cancel my renters and update my address since I moved in my with boyfriend) just to ask "do I still have an auto policy since I did not get my renewal email", turned into somebody emailing me a copy of my still active renters policy for an apartment I hadn't lived in for 1 1/2 months and sending me nothing for my auto that I called it quits. Worse, when I canceled with her, she sent me a terse email, not even apologizing or acknowledging my request for the backdating of my renters cancelation to when I stopped living there. In sort, Farmers is way too expensive and with agents like Sadaf and her office that cannot do simple updates, let alone handle and follow up with bigger problems, or just be an advocate for you is so much worse. Go with State Farm. I ended up with a better policy for the same price without being sent to a subsidiary of a subsidiary to obtain that price point either or have several "discounts", which I previously had with Farmers.
