We actually chose Drury because a new location recently opened near us in Brandon, Florida. We hadn't had the chance to stay there yet because it's been incredibly popular since opening, so when I saw the Richmond location on Expedia with a great rate and an additional discount, it was an easy decision. Before traveling, I called to ask about early check in, but unfortunately it wasn't available at the time. However, once we landed and stopped by the hotel before heading to our event, Kim at the front desk completely turned things around. She was warm, accommodating, understanding, and was able to get us into our room so we could get ready for the anniversary celebration. Her customer service was exceptional and truly set the tone for our stay. Thank you, Kim! The hotel itself was spotless. The room and common areas were very clean, and every staff member we encountered greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. Although we were in and out most of the weekend, every interaction was pleasant. One thing that really stood out was the value. Complimentary breakfast each morning, the evening Kickback with food and drinks, drink tickets for adult beverages, and even fresh popcorn made this stay feel like you were getting so much more than just a room. Whether you're traveling with family, as a couple, or on business, these amenities are a huge bonus and can really help stretch your travel budget. We also noticed how family friendly the atmosphere was. It was welcoming without feeling overwhelming, and the amenities make it easy to see why so many families choose Drury. We genuinely enjoyed our stay and are already looking forward to staying at another Drury during our upcoming trip to the San Antonio area. We have stayed here as a stopping point on road trips between NY & FL. It is in a good location and this location was relatively clean and upkept. The kickback hour is such an amazing idea/concept. It is just as fulfilling as the breakfast buffet! Plus, you get 3 alcoholic drinks to enjoy that are included. There is usually beer, wine, scotch, gin, rum, vodka, and I believe tequila. There is also a soda fountain machine for anyone who does not drink. The menu changes daily for the kickback hour but they only work off of 3 different menus they rotate. Every night, there is a form of potato side and vegetables. As well as nachos and cheese, hot dogs with buns, and some sort of main dish. What I love about this location and most locations, is the space. There is plenty of space in the rooms and plenty of space in the lobby to spread out and relax. The market is okay and could use more items.

From the outside, the hotel looked brand new and had lots of parking. As you stepped inside, you entered into a large lobby area with lots of seating and dining tables. At the front was a small check-in desk and at the back was the complimentary tea, coffee, and hot chocolate, microwave, as well as where the 'grab'n'go' breakfast is located. The room itself is basic but room enough and has all the basic amenities. As you opened the door, on the left was the entrance to the bathroom and after that was a storage rack with a place to store you luggage on top as well as hooks with hangers to hang your stuff on. Next to that was a small section which contained a small ironing board, and underneath the luggage rack was a fridge as well as cubby hotels with additional storage and the iron. The bathroom was also a decent size and contained a sink with counter space, a toilet, and a small stand-in shower. The shower was the only thing that looked small and prefabricated (and thus a bit cheap) but overall the bathroom was decent and had Dove toiletries next to the sink (hand wash and lotion) as well as in the shower (body wash, shampoo and conditioner). The bed was located along the left side of the wall and I had a king-size room which the bed size and comfort were decent and provided a good nights sleep. On either side of the bed were two small nightstands with plugs as well as USB ports on either side. Across from the bed, along the right side of the wall, contained additional hooks to hang your jacket/clothes, a TV mounted along the wall, and a long desk underneath that along with a TV-tray/mini table underneath the big table. The big table was great to do work as well as eat and the mini-table provided extra storage for the work and food. Overall, the room was a decent size, comfortable, had the basic amenities that a guests need, and provided a good nights sleep. The hotel does provide additional amenities for the guests including complimentary parking, complimentary wifi, tea, coffee, and hot chocolate available all the time, grab'n'go breakfast, pool as well as a gym. I was only there for a little while so only experienced the complimentary parking (lots of spaces) and the complimentary wifi which was strong and was able to connect multiple devices. Had I stayed longer I would've enjoyed the complimentary tea/coffee/hot chocolate, the fitness facility as well as the breakfast. Overall, it was a nice hotel with lots of amenities and services for the guest. The room was comfortable, provided a good nights sleep, and the wifi was strong.

This one had rooms that were big enough to stretch one's legs out in, at least. There is not much in the way of amenities, but I appreciated the water station at the end of the hall, and the bed and bathroom were pleasant enough. Street parking during the week is unlikely but there is a garage attached. Street parking on the weekend is fairly easy, and this location is in the center of the city where you can walk to the waterfront. The minifridge in the room was so tiny as to be insufficient for any leftover food. You could maybe fit like a canned beverage in there. I don't know why they even bothered. It didn't seem that cold inside either. The hotel was pet-friendly, which unfortunately resulted in some very loud barking nearby that I was so bad I considered speaking to management about it, but ultimately did not. Still, the downsides were small. If you want a kitchen or a work space, this is not a suite, but if you just want a room downtown, it delivers.

You also get poker chips to redeem for a drink at the bar or a coffee drink as well. We were on the 4th floor of the hotel. Room was a good size and clean enough. Bathroom was a good size as well but it has that sliding door that you can't lock. Really the main complaint we had was the bed was not too comfortable but it was one night so not a huge deal. Overall not a bad experience. Seemed like we were in a mostly quiet area an it was a nice place for a short stay.

There are numerous reviews stating leaking problems and it does not surprise me, walking into a room without calling first does. When I went down to the Front Desk to ask about this the two individuals knew NOTHING about said complaint/leak and said policy was to knock three times. That was the best they could offer. If they did not know how did Security know about the leak and go the room without checking to see if the room was vacant etc? Again the stories never added up as I asked the Night Clerk had she heard of this and did they go into my room while I was out for the night as that too concerned me. She too had heard nothing about any of it. So with that you add to the darkness of the room itself an interior view of walls of the building they are demolishing adjacent to the hotel. The overall griminess that no shower can rid you of the feel. A Room not refreshed the next day from cups to coffee, but the bed made, the few towels I had used replaced but it was still just dingy, as I arrived late Tuesday and thankfully did not shower that night but the Bar had no white wine and along with that there is NOTHING close Downtown after 8 that is remotely accessible other than three shady poorly maintained Bodegas. The nearest bar a dive and the Hotel itself is surrounded by fencing due to the Construction so access is challenging but a walk down 9th street you will see a sign affixed to the door on the abandoned building directly next door and it says "............ POOP HERE PLEASE". the Do Not blacked out. I think that says a lot as at night it is as empty as it is during the day frankly. Other than the Hotel there is a Starbucks in the Omni and another coffee shop in the Shockoe area that is open at 8 am. And trust me that place makes the worst coffee and frozen bagel ever. It is desolate until you get closer to the water or go into the Arts District to find decent food. Shocking for a Southern City frankly. All in all Richmond has an amazing outdoor Amphitheater that is a year old and a fantastic Art Museum along with free city buses that at least during the day you can get around. The Amtrak Terminal is "interesting" but it is car town clearly. The Hotel was convenient to it and the stadium but it is deep need of a cleaning and a remodeling of fixtures and plumbing clearly.

The toilet ran after flushing unless I went back and gave the handle a little jiggle. There were no electrical outlets in the bathroom -- none! I had to plug in my electric toothbrush on one of the nightstands. There was a double electrical outlet at the desk, but the refrigerator plug covered part of the second outlet, so I had to unplug the refrigerator to plug in my laptop. (Fortunately, I had no need for the fridge.) The room was chilly when I got there, but I couldn't figure out how to set the HVAC for heat. The only plus was that the bed was very comfortable. But that was not enough to make up for all the other shortcomings. I do not recommend this hotel. It is very expensive and not anywhere near worth it.
