I have been here a few times now and tried different bowls and smoothies- my top favorites include the protein bowl and the choco craze smoothie! The food menu is fairly limited, but I will say that the avocado toast and bagel with cream cheese both hit the spot. They also serve coffee/tea drinks which I have yet to try, and have a variety of other items to look over in the shop. Every time I have stopped by the staff has been friendly and efficient in serving customers. Definitely recommend trying out Karma if you are in the Bayview area and are looking for some nutritious food/beverage options! (Yes this is coming from a Dietitian;) )

The strawberries and granola on top were a nice touch, along with the drizzle of honey. I went with one other person and he had the PB Protein Smoothie which was fantastic as well! I wasn't sure how well pineapple would pair with peanut butter, but I was pleasantly surprised by it. Pineapple is such a nice addition to the traditional peanut butter and banana combo. My only gripe is the price point. $10 for a smoothie bowl and $8 for a smoothie seems a little steep. But then again, you're paying for healthy, yummy, high quality food. The gal who runs the shop is also so nice and efficient. I will definitely be returning to Karma Café!

So satiating too which is great as they're meant to be meal replacements. On my second visit, the owner Katy (who is the sweetest), explained how great it is to get a shake and a tea for the purpose of the tea ingredients helping the body absorb the nutrients from the shake. She clearly put a lot of thought into creating this business and intention in all of the products. This is totally my wheelhouse so the combo made so much sense to me. I went for it and got the heath flavored shake and the mandarin-lemon tea. Sounds like a weird combo, but I first drank one then the next so it worked nicely. Big fan of the aloe in the teas, as it supports digestion as well. All in all, this place great! Beyond the tasty offerings, the cafe is cozy, clean, and welcoming. The entrance is tucked down off the sidewalk of Kilbourn, so don't miss it!

Bliss Bowls is a cute shop with a lot of options for toppings. Their signature bowls are varied and they have blue spirulina as a base swap and various other toppings if plain acai isn't your thing. I ordered the peanut butter bowl and I thought the prices weren't terrible considering it is an açaí shop, but they weren't great either given the amount of açaí in the bowl and the overall flavor profile. They serve it soft serve style which means it comes in the typical soft serve 'cone' shape which leaves a bit of room in the container after accounting for air bubbles and shaking it in place. The presentation of it is cute and super picture worthy. The açaí itself tasted a bit bland and had a little bit of a chalky texture from the ice crystals, which means they probably don't use fillers or added sweeteners, but it also seemed a little bit too diluted in taste. I thought the honey in the peanut butter bowl would've added some natural sweetness but it didn't really do much. I appreciate that they offer natural peanut butter (just unsalted peanuts) as a topping but the peanut butter was a bit dry and hard to mix into the açaí bowl. I ended up eating most of it in a few spoonfuls without even trying to. Overall, I appreciate Bliss Bowls being in OC, but I can't say I will be buying açaí from here very often.

I was treated like a person, and that kind of thing sticks with you. What I always appreciated most was the atmosphere. It was a place I could go, sit down, relax, and just enjoy being there. That kind of environment is rare, and a lot of that comes from the way Brittany and Dan run the place. They make people feel welcome, and they do it in a genuine way. They did a good job with all of them. The London Fog was steeped nicely and had very good flavor. It was a little on the sweet side, so next time I'll ask for less lavender and vanilla flavoring, maybe half as much. It was served at a good temperature, around 150°F. The Mocha Latte was also very good, with a nice chocolate flavor and a decent amount of froth. I thought it was slightly on the cool side, but my wife said it was perfect for her. The Coffee Cake was excellent: moist, buttery, and loaded with cinnamon. It was a generous portion and easily enough for the two of us to share. Couple of small issues. First, they only serve beverages in paper to-go cups, without the option of an actual china mug. I much prefer wrapping my hands around a warm mug while relaxing in a café. The other is that they have a pretty limited bakery/pastry selection. Would definitely appreciate the addition of scones, or croissants. Service: Super nice people working behind the counter. We received a sincere, friendly greeting and helpful guidance with our menu selections. One staff member even came out from behind the counter to help me carry everything to the table. The staff seemed to know many of the regular customers and were able to have friendly conversations with them. You got the sense that there was genuine appreciation and connection between the staff and customers. Atmosphere: It's a large newer space with high ceilings and plenty of windows. There are lots of tables that work well for groups of two to four people. Several other small groups were there during our visit, but the noise level remained comfortable and it was easy to have a quiet conversation. They also sell additional merchandise, including honey and maple syrup. A nice place that I would gladly visit again the next time we are traveling through.
