If you want to bowl, Arrowhead Lanes or Western Bowl are the places to go. Dave and Elisa make sure the lanes are properly oiled like what the pros use. Probably because Dave has bowled a couple of 300s. Elisa is a pretty good bowler, too. Somebody accused the staff of racism. That may have been a new hire who probably didn't last long. read more

To start off, website says $6.25 but we paid $10.25 for bowling. The price probably hasn't been updated in years. Halloween theme bowling was a joke. Nothing halloween except for low budget animations. Someone with a shopping cart stole all our bowling balls in the middle of a lame halloween game. Tried to go to arcade games, and some woman mopping told us to get out. (Two hours until close) All we wanted was a pretzel, snack shop closed. Ubers out of the place sucked. Other than that we had a great bowling game of 5 minutes. 35-80 score. Great game. Misleading signs on the door. Workers were ~weird~. I asked for bumpers, and they said they are only for 12 and under. I am a 13 year old new bowler working on my skills. Stupid! read more

I went to this place not too long ago. I went with friends just to have some fun. It's very pricey. Along with that, my friend isn't good at bowling and they wanted their bumpers up. I went to ask the staff if my friend could have bumpers and she said only kids 12 and under can have bumpers. I find that very stupid. Just because you are older than 12, doesn't mean you know how to bowl. The food was undercooked and make my friend sick. The staff is very very rude towards you. One yelled at us for getting told the wrong lane. Overall, this place is just creepy and makes me uncomfortable... it's very unorganized. It's also located in a very weird place. Do not come to this location - they are not accepting or willing to help facilitate people with disabilities! The staff at this location is not friendly and did not treat my disabled sister well. My sister had a very negative experience at this location and I am writing a review on her behalf. My sister has a disability (Down Syndrome) and when you meet her, you can clearly tell that she has a disability despite the fact that she is 23. Her friend took her to this location on October 20th for a fun afternoon of bowling and the staff refused to put up the bumpers saying that she was too old despite the fact that her friend explained that she has a disability. This was not a bowling competition - just a regular game with a friend. Her friend complained to the manager and still nothing was done so they were forced to bowl without bumpers and every ball my sister bowled went into the gutter. The staff was so rude about it that my sisters friend asked another friend to go in the following day and talk to the manager and the manager continued to insist that despite having a disability, they would not allow the bumpers to be put up. read more

I came here for a day after a wedding outing. It was such a blast! The lanes are nice and the place was clean. We bowled a couple of games and then walked to the back and what do you know - black light mini golf! So incredibly neat! The whole group went for a round of golf and it was so entertaining. My boyfriend, sister and I got into quite a competitive game. I even showed my little cousins when they stopped by and one of them had their birthday here a month later. The bar also looked neat and the group went in there for some hang out time after. Very fun place! read more

This bowling alley--tucked into some of the back neighborhoods of Champaign--has everything you need. It runs a simple, clean bar with reasonable food and pitchers, the staff is friendly, and the place lacks that clingy smell of cigarettes you find in older alleys. We had a birthday shindig the last time we went, and it was perfect. It wasn't crowded in the evening (although the cosmic bowling did start a bit late at 9:00PM). They run a decent playlist to go along with the backlights. You can pay by the lane/hour (up to six at $27) or by the game per person. With this arrangement groups are a better deal, but note the alley doesn't take reservations. The auto scoring system is a bit silly, but absolutely functional. It worked out just right for our group of about eight or nine as an event location. In short, an absolutely functional and fun alley; with food and drink, a clean atmosphere, and a potentially funky atmosphere, it works. For the more competitive or regular bowler, however, I cannot say. read more

This place was not a very friendly place to come when we there. I found the staff rude and was very pricey for what it is. I was planning on taking the kids bowling and have a snack bar treat for them. The games were expensive and I did not really consider ordering food here. No one else was eating either and there was nobody working the snack bar anyway. This sort of place always saddens me. It's sort of a shame because obviously the owner has sunk money into the place. The lanes are modern and in good shape. We had no malfunctions with the equipment but for $50 for two bowling games for an adult and two young kids it just seems a bit steep for this joint. I have no problem spending money for a positive experience for the kids but not for a sub par one. I guess maybe this place makes its money with leagues or whatever but there was only one other lane going when we were there so it wasn't like they were slammed. More like they didn't care. Oh well, we will go elsewhere next time. read more

Saturday evening Two games apiece cost them $75 and drinks overly priced customer service was rude and the owner was very rude they have never been there before and they will not be returning and myself and I run a bowling center I would never treat my customers that way my customers come first. read more

the machines like didn't work. My shoes were gross and made the bottom of my socks yellow. The bowling balls were incredibly greasy and slipped out of my hands. I can compare this bowling alley to the smell of hopkins hall. Gross. read more

Great place to bowl. Friendly staff, and I love the touch screen score keeping. Very clean lanes. Most of the shoes are newer and cleaner than i have ever seen at a bowling alley. We had a lot of fun bowling here. There is also glow putt putt in the back. read more

This alley is owned by the same person that owns GT Western Bowl. They are both known in this town as the premier places to bowl, because of the careful care that they take. The regulars that bowl at either of these places in leagues would never consider the other options in town (the Union or Old Orchard). The lanes are in extremely great shape. Everything is clean, and the lanes are oiled correctly every day. I refuse to bowl in a league, but my friends and I go to Arrowhead every Monday night after leagues finish, as games are only $2.50 each (an incredible deal). We've done this every week for almost 2 years now, and couldn't be happier. Essentially, this place caters to leagues. This can be a downside because if you arrive between 7 and 9 almost any night, you won't be able to find a lane. But, the upside is the lanes are the best kept in town. read more

Our group spent over 30 minutes waiting in our lane when the machines malfunctioned, until we were eventually moved, only for our machines to malfunction again. Not worth the money for the mini golf. Would recommend going to Old Orchard and doing their mini golf. A lot more fun.

We were in Champaign for a volleyball tournament and wanted to do something fun at night. We went to Arrowhead because of past experience. We only wanted to play two games of bowling and then play glo golf. They had a special. If you play three games of bowling you get to play glo golf for free. We went ahead and did that. The bowling was fine. They are very nice alleys. When were done we got our balls for golf and the putters by the entrance to the golf. Well, there was a party room next door which had a huge party going on. There were Adults and kids everywhere. They had a DJ playing music. One....their music was terribly loud, you could hardly hear each other talk. It didn't make our time playing the glo golf enjoyable, Two.....kids from the party, were running around the glo golf. They were covering the holes so you didn't know where to putt. Then, there were kids taking the balls out from the 18th hole (it wasn't locked) and then grabbing the putters (that weren't sitting by any cashier) and playing free games of golf. Some were going backwards too. The kids were messing around and I Thought we we were going to get hit by balls. It was the most stressed I have ever been playing miniature golf. There was no supervision of kids and there were no employees watching the glo golf. When we finally got done we went to complain. The manager or owner was there. We complained about everything and the only thing he said he would do is let us play again, Why would I want to play again? I told him a I felt we should get money back and he said that since we did the package with bowling and golf, the golf was free. He kept saying we could golf again. I kept telling him we were from out of town. I didn't want to play golf again. We weren't originally going to play three games of bowling (5.50 per person per game plus shoes) but we did so we could play golf. I feel they should have at least given us our money back for one game of bowling. There were 3 of us. I work with customer service every day. He was not providing customer service, We were furious when we left. He should have refunded us something. On one positive note.....if we didn't have kids running around, loud music blasting from the party and kids playing the holes backwards, it would have been a nice miniature golf course. It is a shame that people put graffiti all over the pictures on the walls. Will we go back? Probably never on a Saturday night if we are in Champaign for more volleyball. read more

Ok so I can't really say anything about their bowling because I just went here for miniature golf. $10 per person is a little steep in my book considering they don't even supervise the course or entry into the course; they basically consolidate all of their staff toward the counter behind the bowling alley. You pay for miniature golf at the same counter you pay for bowling and they, very unenthusiastically, hand you a ball and a score card. The way the business is setup just makes it appear as if their miniature golf course is just another way to squeeze $10 out of each person without putting any real effort into that aspect of their business. It really didn't feel like I got my money's worth out of that course either; if the course wasn't glow-in-the-dark it would probably put me to sleep. read more

Horrible, horrible place. The lady behind the counter clearly hates her job, and was extremely unhelpful. We were told to go to lane 3 after we paid and received our shoes. When she came to pull the bumpers up for our daughter, she pulled up lane 4's. When I told her that was the wrong lane, she basically told me I was wrong. We got 1.5 frames bowled before the afore mentioned employee came over to tell us we were in the wrong lane. She moved us back to lane 3, where there were no pins set up. We had already been there 20 minutes. There were only 2 people working on a Saturday afternoon, and neither were quick to help. We requested a refund and left. We will never be back. Pissed. Came in at 1:30 today and explained that I wanted to prepay for 4 people and get on the waiting list so a lane was available at 3pm. I said I also wanted to buy a pitcher of pop and some snacks. The employee apathetically told me that I couldn't prepay and that everyone needed to be there for me to be on the waiting list. I was so mad. I was trying to give you $60 of business and surprise someone on their birthday. The group ended up going there at 3 and got so frustrated waiting that they left.
